As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So, I'm supposed to be able to make FP+ ressies tomorrow, like in a few hours. I bought tickets through UT and have them linked to MDE. Yet, the FP calendar indicates that I can only make ressies through May 3, which is only 30 days from now, not 60.
Ideas?? Will it show my 60-day window after the date change to April 4?
Never mind about the original question, but I do have a new one.
Yes, our 60-day window opened as soon as midnight hit, but I had one minor disappointment. I wanted to book Frozen Ever After, but it wasn't available. That is, it wasn't on the list at all. Isn't it supposedly scheduled to open around May 1? I would have thought it would be on the FP list by now. I just told DS Joel we would keep checking and change if possible.
At MK, the princess hall was not available...neither side...at 12:05 on my opening day. Both had a message that all FP+ were issued for the selected day. I find that hard to believe, especially for Cinderella and Rapunzel, which is what we really wanted. We did the Frozen girls last time.
Anyone have any idea what is the plan for Frozen Ever After FP and why the princesses show all booked?
The princesses might be all booked for VIP tours or a large group tour wanting to send half to one side, half to the other.
The Itinerary Planning Office can book ADR's before a guest's 180, so I bet they have an edge on booking FP's in advance for Club Level guests. That might explain part of those FP's.
I agree, though, that it is odd that there were none open for Cinderella-Rapunzel. That does seem weird. That's why I wonder if Disney is accommodating some large group or VIP demanding completely private access.

I would check again for Fairytale Hall - there could have been a glitch. As far as Norway goes, I read the other day the Stave Church is closing for a refurb until May 27th then reopening on May 28th. The site speculated that this may be the day the new m&g and the ride will open too.
Since you were trying to book A&E for the first day of your trip it is possible that the unavailability is due to folks beginning their trip before you booking them for a day later in their trip. You may want to try to get yours for the second day that you are at MK if that is possible.

I should've known you'd be read up on everything, Darlene! I'll keep checking to see if they open up FP+ before we leave. We'll be at Epcot on June 6, so we should be able to do Frozen, which is good news.
As for the MK princesses, they still aren't available. I guess we'll see when we get there, and I'll keep looking on the website until we leave here on Memorial Day. We don't tend to do multiple days at individual parks, so June 4 is our only day at MK. I'd like to do the princesses for Joel, but we'll survive if we don't see them.

Well, here's a strange turn of events. I had pretty much written off the princess m&g for Joel, so I hadn't looked lately. Just now on a whim, I thought I'd poke around the FP+ selections again. Not only were Cinderella and Rapunzel available (the greeting he wanted) at the exact time we had Space Mountain booked (the one I intended to drop), but Anna and Elsa, too! I booked C & R, and I know he'll be thrilled.
By the way, there were all kinds of times available, too, in case any of you are interested. It's as if they just opened them up. Hmm.

Glad you were able to get what you wanted! I also noticed that there seemed to be a lot of new FP availability today when I was looking. I had a few FPs that I wanted to modify for our trip and I've been checking every few days to see if the times we wanted were available and didn't have any luck until today. I was able to move our FP for Peter Pan (for 2 groups of 4) to an earlier time and there was a lot of availability throughout the day (prior to today there was virtually nothing available - just some random times throughout the day). I was also trying to move our 7DMT FP to an earlier time and while there was no availability, there was a lot of availability (for a party of 8) for late afternoon through closing. Also noticed that there is now a ton of availability for TSMM at DHS (probably due to them bringing the 3rd track online later this month) and was able to move our FP for that to an earlier time.
Thanks for posting this! I was certain that we wouldn't get to meet Anna & Elsa (we are going the first week of June) and my granddaughter would be crushed. I rushed right over to FP+ and was able to secure a M&G with them for the exact time on the exact day that we want.
On the down side, I suppose this means that Norway won't be ready by that time...
