As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

We are planning a quick trip to WDW for our 16th anniversary. We are only 2 weeks away and are staying at the CSR.
What are some not to miss things to do, see, dine at WDW sans kids?
If you can, try and squeeze in a meal at a signature restaurant - one of our favourites is the California Grill. You could also see if you could get tickets to Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba as well, that's an amazing show.
for our adult only trip we are eating at signature restaurants for dinner (Le Cellier is our favorite). We are going to take our time with the World Showcases. Maybe have an adult beverage at each country. :-)
We just enjoy a more relaxed touring style. World showcase is one of our favorite places to explore... The shops, the street entertainment, and the shows, such as impressions of France. When we're tired, we stop for a break and people watch.
We usually have quite a few TS meals on our itinerary because we enjoy visiting the different restaurants and resorts. It's always nice to plan for a meal at one of the signature restaurants as well. We have done Narcoossee's and Yachtsman Steakhouse, both of which were outstanding meals!
We have done several behind the scenes tours which are a lot of fun and very informative.
Even little things like watching the electrical water pageant from the beach, or a nighttime boat ride down the Sassagoula River from Port Orleans can be very romantic!

Depends a lot on your budget, and what your likes are...if it is within range, Victoria and Alberts is worth every penny. Amazing food, relaxed pace to your dining experience, wine pairings....just decadent and so lovely to have so much one on one time with your partner. So romantic.
If you are so inclined, World Showcase can be great for couple time. In the evening, walking the street, watch shows, grab a beverage, check out illuminations. One of my favorite nights with my husband was spent just strolling there.
I will second the recommendation for La Nouba...what a beautiful show!! But is quite expensive, so again, depends on your budget.
I would say going to MK for the evening entertainment would be so romantic! Or if you were not into the show, sneaking over to the rides while the show is going on and getting in multiple rides of Splash, Thunder etc! Just like kids again and so much fun!
I have not been to DTD (or whatever the new name is!) since renovations have started, so couldn't really comment on that.
Go with the flow, see what mood you are in, and enjoy it! WDW is one of the most romantic places I think! Have a blast!

Thank you all for the great suggestions. We ended up planning a dinner and Be Our Guest Restaurant, Biergarten and lunch at Coral Reef. We hope to just relax and enjoy World Showcase and see things that the kids aren't interested in.
Sounds nice . For our date night this trip I am planning on tAking DH to Tune in Lounge (after a few hours at HS with DD12 and grandma) and then heading to MK . Can't wait to do things there just us, sitting next to each other , etc. maybe ride things my daughter has grown out of like DH fav Pooh. The best part is no specific plan - he will be shocked ! [emoji1]
As my children are all grown and married when we go (that is when I can talk my hubby into going) I love taking our time exploring the world showcase, going in and out of shops, stopping for a snack and drinks and just watching the entertainment. I always make sure we have a nice dinner plan at either Narcoossee's or California Grill and I time it so we can see the fireworks and the electric water pageant.
Just to take our time and talk or not talk is just so wonderful. It is truly different when you go just adults. I hear children crying and parents screaming at each other as they are tired and frustrated and we just smile at each other and keep moving.

We had a wonderful meal at the Cali Grill last August. The food was wonderfully prepared the ambience was classy and the wine lists and cocktails were truly mind blowing. Their sommelier is fabulous and the chef creates some truly tantalising combinations than compliment the dishes perfectly. The views from the top of the CR are magnificent and you can see the Wishes fireworks from up there as well as the entire WDW property at night which takes my breath away. There is plenty of walking around room between the tables so you are not all sat on top of each other so you can talk amongst yourselves without interruption. The place is always spotlessly clean and the new decor fits so well too. The bar is a nice feature and OMG if you love sushi you will be in heaven, they make the best on property. The portion sizes are just right. If you can stretch the budget I would highly recommend this one 'sans children". They have something for everyone and if you have any dietary concerns just ask to speak to the chef he is amazing at preparing something suitable whatever your needs may be.
