Cinderella's Royal Table is now cancelled, but replaced with Victoria & Albert's - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). As some of you know we had to make a quick reschedule of our vacation due to medical reasons; from November to December. In doing so we lost all of our ADR's and I've been trying frantically to get the biggies back, BOG dinner, CRT breakfast, and V&A's dinner. The first two I have had luck in booking but we have remained on the wait list for V&A's for some time. Well....I just received the call from V&A's that they had a cancellation and could now fit us in! Did I still want it? Want it??? Of course!!! However, because our vacation also went from 5 nights down to 4 nights, something has to give so CRT is now out. We will also now be taking our eldest DD who will have turned 17 the night before our ADR. DD12 is not interested and wants to have room service instead...ok, not going to force you, saves $$ for me. I'm at work and probably look like a FOOL walking around the library with a BIG GRIN on my face, but I had to share with all of you who understand. I was beginning to think it was not going to happen...a little magic, I guess.
Now, with tipping...since there is two servers, do you tip each of them the 20+% or just one 20+% tip that they share? Just thought of that and do not want to mess that one up. Thanks for helping.
We gauged the tip on the fact that we actually had only one server most of the time during our 7-course meal. Occasionally, others brought food or refilled water glasses, but the one server checked frequently to see that we had what we needed and were satisfied with each course.
I suggest tipping around 25% if you feel the service particularly efficient, and it should be.We've sometimes left as much as 30%. We then asked our server if he would please share a bit more than usual with any of the others he felt worked especially hard to assist him. Generally, the server you have will know who are deserving and who merely along for the ride.
Heartiest 'grats on getting that cancellation. You're gonna be terribly spoiled. We will expect a detailed account of your meal.
Btw, don't forget that if you're too stuffed by the last course or two, they will gladly prepare "to go" boxes for you. We have always gotten those marvelous handmade chocolates that are the final course packed to go. They stay just as yummy up to around a month later. We love to parcel them out so as to extend the experience as long as we can.

Absolutely. When my mom and I went several years ago we also wore new outfits. We took an awesome pic with our roses in front of the GF grand Christmas tree after our meal when the lobby area seemed deserted. It is one of my favorite holiday pics. I hope you have an absolutely magical & memorable evening!

Portions are significantly smaller at V&A than at non-Disney restaurants. A first course soup or salad at V&A would be about 1/4-1/3 the size of either at the standard non-Disney restaurant. Disney portions, as we know, tend to be larger than those of most restaurants elsewhere which is why I said non-Disney.
For instance, the weather was so cold the time we had the 7-course meal at V&A that one might substitute a lobster bisque special for the first course on your menu. We both love that so eagerly did. We got about four 1/2" chunks of lobster with about a 1-1/2" blob of lobster-flavored foam with a small pitcher (probably 1/4 cup) of the bisque which our server poured over the lobster pieces. A tiny portion as portions usually go.
Our entrees were probably 2/3 the size of those at Signatures. That was the only course anywhere near that size.
Yes, you'll feel really full, but if you aren't doing the wine pairings (which are generous pours!) as we didn't, you'll likely only be too full for the final course, coffee or tea if you wish either along with four handmade chocolates. We are big eaters, though. If you can't manage a regular appetizer-entree-dessert Signature meal, then I agree that V&A's seven courses would be too much.
You can, however, ask to pause between courses which can help. At Chef's Table, since there is only one seating per night, you can even take a break at any point to go out into the GF to walk a while. Of course, you need to be aware that its 10 courses can easily take four hours without a break; our experience there did.

I believe its a flat 20% on the bill-you can of course add more
If you mean there's an auto-gratuity, I don't recall there being one for any of the various meals in the Main Dining Room, Queen Victoria's Room or the Chef's Table.
Were you to have a party of six or more, then I expect the standard Disney auto-gratuity of 18% would apply.
Since servers cannot apply to work there but must be invited due to word being conveyed that their performance is of that caliber, I personally think a mere 15-18% would be an insult. We actually recommended to Guest Communications that a server we had be considered for V&A, he was THAT good.

As Dot says, the serving sizes are pretty small. Also, the whole process does take several hours, so that helps you eat more! We've eaten there several times, and though we have always left pleasantly full, we've never felt uncomfortably stuffed. But we do have big appetites, so that also helps...
And to Angela, so pleased to hear you got the ADR. You will love it!
