As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

PassPorter's Free-Book to Walt Disney World It’s hard to believe anything is free at Walt Disney World; but there are actually a number of things you can get or do for little to no cost. This e-book documents over 200 free or cheap tips to do before you go and after you arrive. You could save a considerable amount of money following these tips. Perhaps more importantly; you can discover overlooked attractions and little-known details most people whiz by on their way to spend money. Click here to see free sample pages from the e-book! Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
My plans have changed. I wont be doing DW this year as life is conspiring against me. I am doing my normal birthday (it's December 20) / Christmas trip to Texas to spend it with my mom & stepdad & my aunt & her husband.
Thanks! We saw Finding Neverland in its pre-Broadway run in Cambridge, MA and it was amazing! I can't wait to see it again on Broadway! And of course, I've heard nothing but good things about Aladdin!
2015 is a money saving year if we want to make it to WDW in 2016. So, just the norm for us...couple birdwatching day trips & at least one extended weekend trip to Marblehead, Ohio to just relax. It is my vaca spot of choice for relaxing. As a matter of fact we are driving up & back this Sunday bc we just have to get out of here for a few hours. Probably will spend more time traveling than being there but it will still be nice. Hopefully will catch a concert or theatre show this season as well.
I'm planning a trip to Toronto & Niagara Falls in June and an ABD trip to San Francisco & Napa in the fall (with a trip to Disneyland as well). Plus a couple of trips to WDW.

My oldest son (18) is going to Costa Rica with his Spanish class April 11-19, so we are taking our youngest son (11) to Honolulu April 11-18. Other plans this summer include a couple of trips to Statesboro, GA for orientation and moving into the dorms for my oldest son. No plans for WDW at the moment
Okay...so, I see that at least three of you fine Passporters will be in my neck of the woods! Please feel free to PM me if you will be in Anchorage and have time for a quick meet for lunch, dinner, brunch, whatever. I would love to meet more of my PP friends in person.
Our travel plans are rather limited right now.
I am going to Seward in a couple of weekends with some girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. We are going on a whale watching cruise and will hit the Sea Life Center and play tourist!
DH is hopefully going to go on a boy's trip with one of his buddies. They want to drive Highway 101 (I think that was it) from Seattle down to San Francisco (or maybe a bit farther). I'm encouraging them to go. The big hold up is his friend's schedule...trying to work that out. DH's friend is recently "recovered" from cancer. He had to have radiation, chemo (which went horribly terribly wrong) and surgery, but he is doing AWESOME now. He needs a vacation to just relax and enjoy himself! I'm also pushing them to hit DL since they will be right there!!
This is the extent of our current plans. My BFF and I are hoping/planning a big WDW trip next March. And DH and I want to go to WDW in the later part of 2017. So, I guess that 2015 will be a "Save the Pennies" year.

Well, currently we live in South Korea, but we will be moving in May back to the States. Hooray! We will have lots of traveling to do just in the move and visiting our family and friends. With that said...
We are currently spending spring break in Yokota and Tokyo, Japan, and will be going to Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
We'll be in Seoul the end of April and visiting other areas in Korea before we move.
MAY - Hawaii to visit some friends before heading to the Mainland. As for the move, we should be flying into Alabama and driving everywhere else. NORMAL SPEED LIMITS!!! Oh my gosh! We'll feel like we are speed demons!!! We will be going to Mobile, AL; Birmingham, AL; Atlanta; Panama City Beach, FL; Columbia & Charleston, SC; Richmond, VA; Washington, DC; New York City (Our daughter is interning in NYC for the summer. We'll go to visit her.)
I think that is the most of our May/June traveling. We'll have several beach trips - PCB, FL, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach.
Then, we will move again in December. Life in the Army. We will find out in July. IF we get to move where we are praying for, that will be Alaska, and we'll drive from SC to AK in December. IF we get anywhere else in the States (besides Hawaii), we will go to WDW in December.
Lots of ifs. Haha! Thankfully I can go with the flow.

JBER (Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson) is a great place! There have been a lot of upgrades over the past 10 years. Lots of changes. I was an Air Force brat (many moons ago) and have lived all my life right by the base/post. Spent a good chunk of my childhood on base. Hope you get your wish for Alaska...it's a lovely lovely place to live!! The only drawback....getting to WDW is a long flight!!
And I have been a passenger on the drive from New Mexico to Alaska...it's a long trip. If you go via the Al-Can, it's gotten to be pretty easy from what I have hear (been years since I was over it) or you can take the ferry from Washington into Haines. That's something I haven't done, but my sister has - From Haines to Juneau for work. She seemed to enjoy it.

Jennifer, how awesome!! I truly hope we get to go to Alaska. My husband has already decided to take the ferry route since we have no clue what kind of weather we'll be looking at in December. It's going to be a long drive, but it will be so worth. We continually talk about Alaska like we are going there. We still have to wait and see.
I haven't been to WDW since 2009. So sad!! But we have done so many other things and are going to Tokyo Disney on Tuesday. I can't complain! If we end up in Alaska, WDW will just have to wait.

Okay...the Al-Can in December...not a great idea. Good plan for taking the ferry instead. I must have missed that. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
