Disney Merchandising is not letting you buy Frozen merchandise - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I don't know why but when we were in Disney, I never got Abby a stuffed Sven. We were in the Studios three different days but in the gift shops only one of them. I vaguely remember seeing them (maybe we didn't actually get close to them) but that's about it. It's late for me - usually I have most of my Christmas shopping done by now - but I did some of it today. I actually found a receipt from Disney on my desk and I was thinking "okay, I'll call Disney and order one." Wrong. I just called and immediately the message came on "Thank you for making Frozen such a success. Unfortunately, Disney merchandising is unable to sell Frozen merchandise." I hung up disappointed - as I'm sure many, many others are too. I know it's available out there on Ebay but the prices they're asking are absolutely ridiculous.
So let this be very important info for those of you who may be going to Disney. If you see Frozen merchandise, buy it then and there, don't wait.
*****ETA - just for the heck of it, I went to the Disney Store. Last week when I was online looking for Sven that way, nothing at all came up on the Disney Store website. Tonight he did. Is it any wonder why I dislike technology? One day it says and does one thing, the next day it says and does something completely different and this is the perfect example. Regardless, while Sven might now be on his way to my house, the reminder to get what you want while at Disney still stands.

Weird! We were just remarking last Tuesday about the stacks of Olaf stuffies in the window of the Disney Store near our home. They had tons of Frozen stuff, but I don't know if there was a limit or any other restriction.
We were just looking to see what they had and didn't see anyone buying anything much.
A "real life" store may be your best bet if there's one anywhere within range.

In Disney World in August, there was most definitely a limit to what you could buy. I know in the past it was 5 (like with Duffy) but I'm not sure if it was even that high for Frozen. I know a few weeks before we went to Disney, I did visit my local Disney Store and they had almost nothing Frozen there so if your local one recently had a bunch of stuff, they must be getting ready for the Christmas rush.

We were just at WDW and there is Frozen merchandise everywhere! All stores have what I feel like is plenty of merchandise to choose from!
I really think it is strange that you can't buy it through Disney Merchandising!
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised to see so much Frozen merchandise at the Disney Store yesterday - we went to the Oxford Street store in London, which is their flagship store for the country and Bluewater, which is the one closest to us. I thought there might be a restriction on how much Frozen stuff you could be, but there didn't seem to be and I was relieved that we were able to get a Frozen fur coat for our niece for Christmas.
I'm glad you were able to get a Sven, as there were literally hundreds of them between both stores yesterday.
I'm glad you found Sven, but it is odd that the Disney Merchandising doesn't provide info on other places to buy stuff. I do agree, if you see something you want while at WDW, best to buy it then.
It might have been simply a delay in a big shipment's arrival that affected only the online store. When I worked for Borders, we occasionally would be shorted or missed entirely whereas the other store in town got their full shipment.
I must say I found it odd that there was hardly any Frozen stuff in our nearby Disney Store by the end of last month as huge as the demand for anything Frozen has been. But then, as much of that sort of thing as is made in China, getting orders filled quickly and completely may have been the drawback.
I would guess the emphasis has been stocking both WDW's and DL's shops first so as not to disappoint visitors to both sites. After all, those of us stuck shopping at home can just wait for products to trickle out to us.

I am not an expert on any Disney merchandise but I needed my Ann Taylor fix today and stopped by the outlet mall. They had tons of Friozen stuff in the windows and when i walked through seemed to have plenty of everything.
Isn't there a Disney outlet at the outlet malls in Wrenthem? That's not far from you Darlene, right?
I've seen the "talking" Sven at Toys R Us and Target but I didn't really like him. I liked the bigger one they have. I was able to order him through the Disney Store online and have already received him but as I said, this is a note to those that might put off buying something from Frozen - don't wait until you get home, you won't be able to get it through the 800 number for Disney.
I'm an Avon lady. (lol) And right now they big talk is of the Elsa singing pillow doll and Olaf glowing pillow doll Avon is going to start selling in a couple weeks. So there are other places to get Frozen merchandise. Just gotta do some research.
