Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Thank you very much! They were so fun to make!! I'm getting REALLY excited! I think DH might finally be coming around in his excitement; we visited with my Aunt and Uncle from Florida who will visit Disney with us. They were up to help celebrate at DM's retirement luncheon earlier this week and we were talking about the trip and DH was listening very intently and making some positive comments. Crossing my fingers!!!!

I cannot wait to go either! I feel like as each day passes, I'm bouncing a little higher in my chair at work! I'm glad you like all of my "art projects!" Thanks for the compliments! You are spot on...I love the idea of having a memento of how we surprised DD so she can look back with fond memories of her first trip to WDW!

Dinner and a Movie Night - June 14, 2013

Shame on me...I've been so wrapped up in everything this week that I forgot to post last week's Dinner and a Movie night; and here we are...back at Friday again!! I sincerely apologize; between Father's Day, my DM's retirement luncheon, DM's birthday, and making our plans for this weekend I completely lost track of the days this week (and at times...my mind!). With that explanation out of the way, I won't hold this up any further:

Dinner and a Movie - June 14 - Princess and the Frog

Dinner: Steamed Shrimp (of course!)

(Thank You Google)

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MOVIE!!! Just about every one of the characters is my favorite! Charlotte, Prince Naveen (in Frog form), Ray...they are just great characters! Great job Disney! DD loved this movie too! She giggled her little heart out!

Over the weekend, I purchased OZ The Great and Powerful. I know there are many people out there who were not too fond of this movie, but DH, DD, and I LOVED it! C'mon people, it's a Disney movie! We've watched it twice already! While I was out shopping for the remaining Father's Day gifts that I needed to pick up, I crossed several items off my shopping list for Disney; socks for everyone, first aid kit supplies and medicines, some bath items, etc. I'm very happy this is all done.

We are gearing up for resort online check-in in about 2 more weeks!!! This whole idea is just crazy to me...I started planning this trip 4 years ago, and now I'm getting ready for online check-in! On top of that, July and August are going to be VERY busy months for us between weekend plans and several project management trainings that DH and I are both attending for work. *Sigh* Pray for us!

You will absolutely love it! At least I know we did! We continue watching it and picking up on new things each time...it's pretty fun to see what you missed from the last time you watched it!

HAHA! I spent most of that time just researching since this was the first time I had ever planned a trip, booked and paid for a trip, and handled all the details of a trip to Disney World. I knew I was going to have my hands full, so I spread out my efforts during that time. And now...here we are!

Is this the BodyGlide stuff I've heard people talk about? If so, it is still on my shopping list. My local grocery store and Walmart do not carry it so I may have to order it through Amazon. I did find the blister band aids though!

Great movie! I don't remember if that's on my list or not?
We got Oz (by accident) through Disney Movie Club this week. We haven't seen it and I'm debating returning it - only because we'd want the 3D version.

I heard about it and then I found it on Amazon. People seem to rave about this stuff. It's non-greasy, sweat and water resistant, doesn't contain petroleum or oils, and helps to prevent/heal chafed skin. Other than skin to skin rubbing, it also helps on your feet to prevent hot spots and women use it to keep bras from rubbing sore spots.

Oh man...3D?! I think that would terrify DD because of the flying monkeys; they are pretty creepy in this movie (DD insists on watching this movie with a blanket so she can cover her face if she gets scared!). That being said...she watched it again this weekend!

Thanks! Eeek! I know! I'm trying to slow myself down a bit but I'm already trying to figure out the logistics of setting up a packing area inconspicuous to DD so I can remove the bin of happiness (and sidekick box) from my room and into luggage! It's starting to take over!!

Dinner and a Movie Night - June 21, 2013

Okay, so I'm doing better with this update and at least posted before Friday!

Dinner and a Movie - June 21 - Ratatouille

Dinner: Was "supposed" to be Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup; however, DH hit up McDonalds instead...womp, womp, womp...

(Thank You Google)

This movie makes me particularly hungry...hmmm...can't figure out why... This movie brought out the giggles in DD again. I always worry how she will comprehend the movies as we watch them now that she's a little older than when she first watched them. I try to pay attention to what captures her attention...I'm convinced it's humor. She's like her mama! We are suckers for humor and belly busting laughter!

Nothing new to report on the trip planning...I do have plans to purchase foil balloons this Friday during Ladies Night with my girlfriends for the actual trip reveal. Then, just another week and a half for online check in!! Woot Woot!!!

I love that movie too. Last time we ate in France Remy came out on a cart. It was so fun to interact with him.
