I would some suggestions on what resort we should stay at. The people would be a family of three adults. One of the adults would be celebrating a birthday. We are looking at fall 2014. We would take any recommendations into consideration.

I think the first factor is whether you want to stay at a Value, Moderate or Deluxe resort.
Also, would you be getting two different rooms, or be looking for perhaps a 1br suite (they have them at Values, Moderates and Deluxe).

There are approx. 15+ different resorts to choose from, and it's a lot of fun figuring out where you want to stay!

Once you figure out what level of resort you want to stay at, you can think about location and theming etc...

My vote is for POFQ! We love it! Quiet, lovely, great entertainment in the evening, ferry to DTD, bus never seems overcrowded (except during peak holiday times), nice river walk to POR, grounds are nicely kept, everything is handy..... and did I mention we Love it!

The first question I ask is how much am I willing to spend. The second is am I getting a good deal. Last time we went AKL was only about $20./night more than a moderate and was in my range of reasonable so we stayed in the deluxe-plus I love the Mara for counter service.

It would depend on your budget, for value, moderate or deluxe, and what theming and location you are looking for. I'd take a look at the resort photos, in your price range and go from there.

My fav mod is POR, and Deluxe WL, or BC, but love AKL & Poly too.

For three adults, I'd probably skip the Value resorts unless you need to save money. since they have double beds. I'd go with a room at Coronado Springs or Port Orleans if you want a Moderate (which both have queen beds). Or I'd go with Boardwalk Inn or Wilderness Lodge if you want a Deluxe.

Really, there are no bad choices. I've stayed in just about every resort now and I haven't disliked any of them. They each have their own strong points. Go with the pricing and theming that appeals to you. Good luck choosing!

I’m assuming this is a first trip for all of you so normally I work similar to a police sketch artist. What shape is the head, were the eyes almond shaped or round, nose long, pointy, was the chin, round square, well you get the idea.

First start with visuals. Look at an e-brochure and see what appeals to everyone and what are the 1st 2nd choice etc. and why. Don’t worry about a budget or location yet. Next is where have you gone on vacation? What did you like and dislike about each? Now you have to look at the pros and cons of each of your selections and how they match up to you such as the location, bedding and onsite amenities.

Then there is budget which should be considered a starting point. I’ve had people say “Here is my budget and it took me three weeks of work to pay for this vacation and I won’t spend a penny more.” Yes there is cost but sometimes value will outweigh cost. Maybe for a few dollars more you can add value that will make those 3 weeks at work well worth it.

Discounts. I look at discounts like putting on a pair of jeans and finding $20 in the pocket. It’s a bonus. Don’t plan a vacation based on discount. Stay in arrange that is comfortable. And that budget needs to include expenses like dining while you are on vacation which many people forget to include.

With three adults, I wouldn't opt for a value. If you're looking for a moderate, I'd vote for Port Orleans French Quarter. If a deluxe is in your budget, I'd probably go with the Contemporary.

With 3 adults, I'd skip the Values
Moderate: CSR or POFQ
Deluxe: BC or BWI

My choices as the best in the categories for the best use of money are:

Deluxe: AKL
Moderate: CSR or POFQ

Always opt for AKL when there is a discount since it comes in closer to moderate price than all of the other deluxes. And if the view is standard, just walk out of your room for a great view from the hallways or observation areas.
