As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

The Scrapbook Convention Report
<font color="red"> Scrapbookers: Sue and myself
When:11/15/03
Where: Indiana State Fair Grounds </font>
<font color="blue"> The first class we had was at 10:30 am. We were up and out of the house at 9am. Sue need gas so we stopped to get some. I wanted to put my coat in the backseat, so I just throw it over my shoulder. Sue got back after paying and went to get her keys from the middle of the front seats and they were no there. I must have knocked them off. We could not find them. I even went into the store to make sure she didn't bring them in there and left them. Nope no there but I did find $5.00. I had my key so we used it to make it to the convention on time. We knew they must be in the car. We got there and went in to get our tickets.
Sue had reordered them for us. We found the ticket desk and picked them up. It was close to 10 am, That when the venders all opened. Sue opened the envolope she was givin to find only 1 set of tickets, NOT 2. so back to teh window we go. Sue tells the lady she order 2 of each. The lady finds her receipt. She also asked her if she had gotten an E-amil conferming her purches and Sue says yes. The lady then stares telling her that it is her responsible for makeing sure everything is right. Then hands writes me tickets and stamps my hand so I can get in. tells us we have to deal with the instructors because the classes are full.
Ok so we sit and talk a bit about what we will do if a problem happends. I figured I had to have a spot because Sue was chareged for bth of us. They just forgot to print my tickets. We then had to find our first class. This one was the one I picked the one about useing The Sizzix. If you don't know what a Sizzix is, It's a die cut machine. I got in with no problem and there was enought stuff for me too. The instructor was late but she was very nice. She show every the machine (we already have one) She then talked about the new things for it. The have small letters and also embossing too. She then showed us the layout will be doing. She basicly wanted us to cut everything, since our class was cut short so she could help us, She told us just to take it all home and put it together there. The little leetters she told us about are as thin as a credit card. Very cool looking. I ended up helping some folks and had to rush to cut my stuff. Don't get me wrong I didn't mind helping but it took a lot of my time up.I did get it all cut out without help I just took anther machine to use.
We had a bit of time so we ran to the bathroom and then went to find the next class that started at noon. This was the Piglet layout. I also got in with no problem and there was enough stuff too for that class. We had a pack that had every thing to make the layout with and we got a small scrapbook too. She had us cut some of the mattings and showed us where stuff should go. That was page one. It had Piglet on white that was on green,The word Piglet across and the top and a spot for a photo. The second page had the Shaker box on it with a saying about good things come in small packages on the top and a spot for a photo. The shaker box was a pre made one that has sticky stuff on it. you first put the bottom down and then add what you want to put in it. Ours were pink squres. We put a stick in it for a back graound and added small beads. Then you put the clear plastic part on and add the top square, and it was done very easy. The shaker boxes come in lots of shapes and colors. there are 4 diffrent sizes in the one package.
We also had an extra page the we did Quilling for. This was a Mickey page. (mine is not done so I don't have a photo of it) Quilling is when you have a metal thing that at the ttop has a split and you put the Quilling paper in it and roll it. We made Mickey heads. This page was black and white. with a saying that when I can I will write it down. I wish I d=ahd gotten a piture of this lay out but it was underglass and I didn't want to try to get it. When mine is done I'll take on of it and post it. I did get a picture of an Eeyore one she had.
By this time it was after 1pm and we were hungery, so off the the food for lunch. I had a Hamburger and Sue got a hotdog. We shared fries and we got 2 waters. The cost was over $10.00. It was way expensive for food and drinks. Soda was like $3.00 alone.
It was now time to look around. Almost every vender had some thing Disney. I did find a mat for my Slpash picture. AS Sue paid for that and some other Die cuts we got I saw a demanstration for an eyelet machine. It's very simple and you can put them anywhere on the page. Of couse we bought it. We also bought a kit to do Mosaic pictres. That when we decied it was time to go.
There was a Christmas and Hobbie show too so we went to that. I ran into some Elvie there. We didn't do much shopping but it was nice too look around. then we headed home.
We had a lot of fun and are going back next year for some more classes. If you need more info just ask. I don't know if I left anything out. Click here to see the pictures. </font>

Re: The Scrapbook Convention Report
Sounds like you had a great time. I don't know what page I like more Piglet or Eeyore.
