As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). What's the best time of day for bibbidi bobbidi boutique?
I'm taking my 5 yr old DD to get a bibbidi bobbidi boutique makeover in June. What's the best time of day to book? I want to make sure she'll be able to show off her new look while in the parks but I don't want it done so early to where by noon it's all worn off.
Thats a busy time of year so I would book asap. Really anytime is good and trust me nothing is going to wear off, in fact the hair stays the same way for DAYS!!!! LOL You need to wash it out several times to get the hair to move.
My daughter had an appointment at 8:00am. It was great we were in and out, had her Picture done 3 times with no one around and were in line to meet the princess' before park opening.
However by afternoon she looked a mess. I know everyone says that the hair stays in forever but not for us. I was a little disappointed because we had dinner at Park Fare. I just went and got some Mickey clips and used water to fix it. One lady in the bathroom had said something that made me feel better, she said did your daughter have fun. My daughter didn't care what it looked like at 5:00 she was so happy that morning and had a great day at the park.
My daughter is 4 and doesn't meet the height for the big rides so not sure how she got a mess, but the bun was all falling out.
If it really matters to you what it looks like in the afternoon I would go for a later appointment.
I took my daughter to have her hair done in November we fibbed about her age a bit so she could go since she was so excited about it. She was shy of 2 1/2 by a few months. She is a tall 2 year old so no one even questioned her age and she sat like a 4 year old. We had an evening appointment I believe it was at 7pm and since the parks closed at 9 we didn't make it to a park with her all done up however, when she woke up in the morning it was still pretty much in tack. She does rub her hair when she sleeps so the next time we do it I'm going for a hairstyle where she will have some down that she can rub. She wears the dress she got everyday and it was so worth it. Her appointment for our next trip is 9AM and I prefer the DTD location as it is bigger and less chaotic.
Better to have an early appt, as BBB gets crazier as the day goes on. While there is something to be said for visiting the castle location, we much preferred the experience at the Downtown Disney location- less crowded and less rushed.
