As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I like that idea! You haven't mentioned why you are not driving down to Boston, but if you have a car and are able to drive down, you might want to look at some of the hotels outside of Boston that offer a sleep and park option for the airport. You pay for a night at the hotel, then get to leave your car there the entire time you are gone. The hotel shuttle drives you to and from the airport. Between the cost of the bus tickets and the concern for bus delays (remember we are in New England!) it might not be as much more as you think!
I know for me, it would stress me out way too much worrying about the bus breaking down or a traffic accident stopping things (that time of day and tractor trailers rolling over blocking the highway comes to my mind!). I've been in a situation where I thought I had enough time and just barely made a flight because of traffic. And that was an early flight! Just made it through security and to the gate as they were boarding. Unexpected traffic accident!
I also got stuck on Kilimanjaro Safari on a day I was heading home and nearly missed my DME back to the airport. The truck didn't move for 40 minutes because of animals in the road! Live and learn. No more safari for me on the morning before I head home with only an hour and a half in the park!
Good Luck picking what works best for you. Like others have said, barring any unforeseen incidents with the bus being delayed, you should have enough time at the airport.

We are flying JetBlue, and Boston does have curbside. I feel OK about the bus, barring any accidents of course, as I'm sure traffic at that time of day is minimal. Thanks guys, you made me feel better!
We've flown out of Logan even earlier, always on JetBlue -- you should be fine! It is a breeze getting through in the early hours. The most difficulty is finding a place at the airport open for breakfast that early besides DD!

We live in the middle of nowhere, and driving into Boston isn't something we want to do. I really like the bus because it's inexpensive, parking is free, and the kids don't cost anything. I think we are just going to take the bus, my DH keeps telling me we will be fine, and I don't really want to pay for a hotel room we won't even really sleep in, since we would have to be up and leave it by 3. Thanks for the advice, and thanks tinker me happy for doing the research.
So our flight leaves super early (6 am) out of Boston. We are taking a 2:30 am bus out of Dover , NH to get there. (This is the earliest one). The bus arrives at BOS at 4:15. I am going to check in for our flight online, but we will still have to check luggage and get through security. Do you think this is enough time, or should we head down the evening before and stay at a hotel near the airport? I don't really want to spend the money when we would be leaving the hotel at 3 am anyway, we wouldn't even get a whole night there. What do you think? We always get there 3 hours early and end up sitting around for quite a while waiting but I don't want to take any chances.

thanks for asking that question, I have a similar situation for when we go back in August....although I usually arrive 2 hour's before our flight...I don't mind waking early and heading to the airport and it make's it fun for our children, the anticipation of finally leaving for Disney although my DK will be 12 and 15 this make's it a little easier vs traveling with small DKid's who can get tired and become cranky ...
