As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). how do I know which size to get? you'd think it be easy but whenver I get refills for ANY kind of binder or book I ultimately buy the wrong kind... it's so frustrating. how do I know?

I know what you're saying, Toni.
I think the only way to be positive is to buy the same brand as the album you're working with, or always use the same brand of album and get protectors that experience has taught you will fit.
Or what I've done at a store during a crop is to physically compare the protectors from the album I'm working with to the replacements. Just take them out of the wrapper and make sure the width on the side with the holes is as close as possible to the same (hard to describe...does that make sense?).
I have some completed albums with slightly different lengths of protectors. The outside edges, where some protrude more than others, aren't beautiful, but so far I've only seen minor problems, not worth going back and replacing them.
Yes, I agree with Ginger. Make sure you buy the same brand as your album, that way it will be a perfect fit! I usually try to buy an extra pack when I purchase my album because I know I'll need them!
I've honestly never had this problem before. I buy whatever's cheapest for my 12 x 12 albums (and I've used a variety of those too) and the page protectors always seem to fit fine. That was a real fear of mine in the early days, but to date, it's been unfounded.

It's weird, it's only been in the last year or two that I've had the problem a lot... it may be because I'm in a smaller market, but the books I buy at joanns don't fit any of the extra pages they sell?! I even ordered online the last time and they were teh wrong size...
I can understand it not working for the Disney books, but not the regular binders... and it's not so much that they are longer and stick out of th ebook, they don't fit the three rings/posts! (some are too big and some are too small)... that's what is really weird to me!

My family albums are all Creative Memories, so I just get their protectors.
But my Disney albums are all the Sandy Lion ones. I have had to order the Sandy Lion protectors online since the stores never seem to have them even though they carry the albums?????
I learned the hard way years ago when I bought an album then found it impossible to find page protectors to fit. I had to punch holes on the side so they would fit in the binders of the album. Not pretty I but didn't have a choice. I use Creative Memories now for all of my albums since I know what to expect and I can always find page protectors to fit.

the holes. I don't mind if the page protectors are all different lengths, but I have binders all different brands and bought at the same store that I bought the extra page protectors and they don't fit ANY of the binder rings!

I had that happen with an EK Success album that I bought. I bought EK Success page protectors, and I ended up repunching all of them because they wouldn't fit! Now I have been buying the 3 ring albums from Archivers ( We R Memory Keepers ?) and the 25 pack of generic page protectors from JoAnn. That combo works just fine.
