As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Good Morning!
Well I've been watching what I eat and exercising now for 1 week......and I'm down 4 pounds!!!
I am so encouraged by you guys!! YOU all are sooooo determined and that makes ME strong! Remember: THERE IS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS! We can ALL do this if we stick together!!
Sitting here eating 3 small apples for breakfast. I have to peel them cause I can't stand eating the skin and I have a corer that also cuts them into 8ths, so it amounts to a cereal bowl full of apple sections. Should have NO problem keeping the Doctor away!! LOL
Managed to do 1.3 miles on the treadmill last evening in 20 minutes. I jumped on the treadmill as soon as I got home from work.
Last night for dinner I fixed my guys smoked sausage and macaroni & cheese. Waaaay too much fat in that for me, so I had a big tossed salad with diced ham. Very yummy, think I'll have it again tonight. For dessert I had my last Mint Skinny Cow.......only until I get back to the grocery store! Believe me, those will be on the list EVERY week!!! I figure since I'm doing so well with eating so many fruits and vegies that I'm entitled to a goodie...... everynight !
Wishing you all a wonderful day and look forward to hearing from everyone!

Looking good Cindy! Made it to the gym for the second morning in a row, no small feat, I am NOT a morning person! Anyway, everyone keep up the good work!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/09/03
Cindy, congratulations that is fabulous. I have a bad left knee and I can't do walking for exercise, it hurts too much. I keep saying I am going to call the Y and see about a water aerobics class.
What is a skinny mint cow? It sounds delicious. I eat Hunt's non-fat chocolate pudding when I get the urge for chocolate. I have lost 28-lbs but it has taken a little more than 7 months but I have done well sticking to it on vacations and all. I want to lose about 20-lbs more. I have had to get some new clothes because I "swim," to darn big in them.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/09/03
Congratulations Cindy and Jan - way to go! I didn't get to walk last night and I have to admit I was very discourage last night because I was trying to plan a menu for DH birthday this weekend and everything we like is too fattening! And I was hungry all evening even after dinner. I hope I can see some results soon to keep me motivated.

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/09/03
Good morning! It sure sounds like everyone is either seeing results or staying motivated. Michelle, did you drink water or eat something low fat to tide you over after supper? Keep on the Pixie Chick wagon! I'm always looking for food after supper too, but it's due to boredom. Here's a tip I've mentioned before for boredom eaters: brush your teeth instead. Then you won't feel like eating and messing up that minty fresh feeling in your mouth!
Yesterday I walked on the treadmill in the morning for 1/2 hour and made it 1.5 miles. Then in the afternoon, I walked for 40 minutes and made it another 1.5 miles. I fixed our snowmen who were melting from our heatwave and took down our outdoor Christmas decorations since I didn't have to wear mittens. It's so much easier to do without mittens on! I think I got my exercise!
This morning I woke up to 2 or 3 inches of fresh snow on my sidewalk, so I shovelled that before I took the kids to school. I only have to work for 4 hours today, so I'm going to get back on that treadmill this morning during Port Charles again. Have a great day

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/09/03
Good eveving Pixies...
Today I got on the scale this AM ( yes, I know you shouldn't weigh yourself daily but I have to every time I start a new diet..
Well, I've lost another 1-1/8lb... so since Monday it's a total of 3-7/8 for me... pretty good.
I did decent on eating... Had fat free waffle with just a smidge ( ooh... there's my unusual word for today) of lite pancake syrup... & 1/4 C Egg beaters mixed with roasted red peppers. Did anyone try those new flavored Egg Beaters.. YUmmy!!! , one cup of coffee with low fat cream & splenda
The kids had cheese sticks for lunch at school today & they are one of my favorites so I picked at a couple off my kids trays ( isn't that true .. if you eat off of someone elses plate, it doesn't count???? )
I had some dates & pineapples when I got home & then 2 small helpings of the Peanut Chicken from last night.
Dinner was YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY garlic chicken over rice, ( made it in the pressure cooker & it was sooo good!!!), salad & steamed caulifower & 1 crystal light drink..
AND after work I also did 1 mile on the treadmill in less than 20 minutes.. After not exercising for so long that was a pretty good start.. I'm sure I will feel it tomorrow in my legs..
I still 2 dairys left so I'll probably have another weight watchers fudge bar tonight..
One question.... Is everyone also taking a multi-vitamin during their diet? I always take one when I start dieting & it seems to give me so much energy.. I also take 2 fiber tabs as my diet wreaks havoc with my IBS...
I'm so glad I came back.. reading all of your posts have inspired me to keep going..

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/09/03
Good evening Pixies . I am holding my own. We went food shopping after work and I stocked up on veggies and fruit, lots of chicken. I also found the Skinny cows ! Had a hard time choosing. They had vanilla, chocolate, mint and coffee. Finally settled on the vanilla/mint combo pack.
To answer Ann's question, I do take a vitamin everyday, One-A-Day women's formula. And I do notice a difference when I forget to take it. They do make me nauseous if I take them on an empty stomach, so they force me to eat breakfast, something I have a hard time doing because I am usually not very hungry in the a.m.
We also put in a new Pur filter here at the house, so hopefully that will get me drinking more water.

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/09/03
Hi guys - I weighed in this morning before work - lost two of the five pounds I had found over vacation! Did a good job on my water today - I use my Brita bottle - filtered water definitely tastes better! Did a great job on points until dinner tonight - DH wanted to go to our local little diner - Thursday is fish fry night, and they have the best haddock anywhere! After that, the Rose and Crown fish was a major letdown! I didn't get any potato with my fish, just steamed broccoli, no butter, but they did give me a good size portion of haddock! Delicious!
Goofy Mom - I hear you about brushing your teeth - it definitely works for me. When I'm out and brushing isn't an option, I've become addicted to Peppermint Tic Tacs - they're only 2 calories, and give about an hour of minty freshness, as Sarah would say!
luvnwdwgal - Congratulations on your great results! You are working so hard - I need some of your exercise motivation!
