As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). We have a 7 night cruise booked in September. The 26th through October, and I have been unable to make reservations for Brunch. Has anyone going on that cruise had any luck doing so? I contacted Disney Cruiselines via email they stated that they were booked and I should keep trying. The only problem is I tried the very first day we were able to do so, and it wouldn't let me. It will let me still book Palos in the evening. I would think that it would book first not Brunch. Anyway, if someone does have Brunch reservations I would be just curious to know. Thanks for responding.

They only release a certain number of reservations for Palo Brunch before the cruise so this may be the issue. Palo dinner takes longer to sell out as its available for more days. Also some people are able to book earlier than others, for example people in suites or with the romance package can book 120 days in advance, people with Castaway Club membership (repeat cruisers) can book 90 days in advance and then everyone else is 60 days, so sometimes this equates for it.Keep trying as they may open more slots up, if not try when you get onboard. We waitlisted on the first Disney cruise we did and managed to get it so don't give up hope.

Brunch is only offered on a few days, therefore it sells out much more quickly than dinner. If you get on the ship early, I'm sure you'll have no problems getting it, as they don't offer all the reservations online (they save some for boarding day since not everyone has internet access)!
We didn't get brunch or high tea reservations for our September crusie either. I keep checking the web site and nothing. So I will try on board the first day.
Thanks for all the information. I am a member of Castaway Cay, so I was hoping that it would be a help. I'll check when we arrive onboard ship. We had the brunch when we went in May and it was the most incredible brunch. A truly lifetime event. I would hate to miss it. And thank you for the "welcome aboard".

I was wondering about my luck. I was able to make my ressies Saturday night - yes, 4th of July. I was lucky, in that I could log on at 9:00 on the west coast. I had no problem securing brunch and there were loads of options for days and times (I didn't know Key West day offered brunch on the Western). I even wondered if I was lucky because my cruise has a lot of first-timers, thus clearing the way for us Castaway Club members, or if the holiday had many people waiting until the next morning, rather than staying up late on a holiday (or perhaps cutting a holiday short).
I'm sorry you weren't as lucky. Maybe you can try logging on at the 75 day mark to see if you can get brunch then? I've heard that they release some for each time, including onboard (for those without internet). Good luck securing brunch!
When we booked our Cruise we stayed up all night waiting to make our Palo Reservations, we only got dinner. No Brunch, No Tea. When we got onboard the first day, we got there early so we would be on earlier rather then later. We went to Rockin Bar D and thats where they were doing dining changes. I was able to get Brunch booked there. No tea though. (we were the 2nd family announced).
We did get put on a waiting list and they called but we just didn't feel like having tea so we passed on it.
So while you may not be able to book online check that first day and you might be able to get in then but not a guarantee depends on how many people get in the line before you.

I have been on 5 DCL, we have always registered for the brunch at Rocin Bar D and then they have called us during the cruise with date and time that was availiable. It is worth the wait we loved it. Hope you enjoy.
