As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Needing some help and hope that my Passporter friends will have some ideas. DD (age 5) has recently started some medication and in one month, has lost 3 pounds -- not good, as she was already in the 25th percentile for weight. The doctor recommended that we try upping her protein intake and make sure that she gets high protein snacks mid-morning and afternoon.
She is a picky eater and I am not sure what to give to her. Her normal after school snack is a piece of fruit and string cheese. She does not like peanut butter or nuts in general, and won't eat anything like a Lunchable (no crackers, only likes string cheese and not crazy about lunch meats.)
I was thinking about making some sort of high-protein cookie, since she definitely has a sweet tooth...maybe something with oatmeal and peanut butter in it (she'd eat the peanut butter if she didn't KNOW she was eating peanut butter). Anyone have a good recipe for something along those lines? Or suggestions for things I could buy?
Okay I know a few things..however she may not like them. You say she eats cheese..well cottage cheese has tons of protein in it. Maybe if she does not like eating that on its own if you put something sweet in it that she does like possibly a fruit ( I like peaches) she might like it. I also think there are some of those fish crackers made by pepridge farm that have a lot of protein in them as well. I am sorry if this does not help you out..but I hope you find something that works!
Whole milk yogurt is a good snack. We get it plain and add Maple syrup to it for sweetener. If you have a blender, you can do yogurt with a small amount of avocado, banana, and maple syrup-- it's like a pudding. Any cheese-- just make sure it's whole milk, not skim. you could even change the milk she drinks back to whole milk for a while. Will she eat eggs? Oatmeal? Smoothies? I have a picky eater too, and weight loss in a child is not fun to deal with. (((hugs))) When DD comes home from school, I'll have a slice or muffin of banana or zuke bread with a decent ammt of butter, milk...
I'll rack my brain and see if I come up with anything else for you!!

I'm not really into cottage cheese either but will eat it with fruit or applesauce in it. I get this peach flavored applesauce that's pretty good and great in cottage cheese. Will she eat eggs? Look online and do a search for protein bars. You can buy the powdered protein from a store like. GNC and make your own with ingredients you know she will eat. There are tons of recipes online and just as soon as I get the protein powder I'm going to make sure I make some for my dd to eat at games.

what about silk tofu in a smooties? or in a pudding? hard boiled eggs?
Rasberry crème:
12oz of silk tofu
2T maple sirup
1C rasberry (or strawberry) fresh or frozen
1t vanilla
Mix everything in a blender. put in cup or ramequins and put in the fridge for at least 30 min.
Pink crème
1/2 an enveloppe of gelatin
1T cold water
10oz of silk tofu
1C apple and rasberry sauce (compote?)
1/4C sugar
"Swell" the gelatin in the water for 2 min. melt the gelatin/water mix over a "baain-marie"
Mix the tofu in a blender with the apple sauce, sugar and melt gelatin until everything is smooth. Poor in individual cups and let in the fridge for 2 hours.
Take her to the store and have her pick out some items to try from the 'diet' foods section that bodybuilders might use. Or maybe GNC. If you have 7-11, they have lots of those. I think that between the two of you, you can find something she likes that is good for her, too.
But I like peanut butter in pretty much any form...
Peanut butter on crackers
Deviled eggs
String Cheese
Yogurt
meatballs
Chicken salad on crackers
I also make a chicken thing to have with soup for lunches on cool days that might be a change of pace:
1 can of white chicken meat
1 can of cream of chicken soup
8 pieces of toast (approx)
Mix the chicken soup and chicken meat together and then spread on the toast pieces and place on a cookie sheet.
Broil in the oven until the mixture starts to brown on top and serve with a bowl of soup.
Thanks for all your suggestions. There are several here I'm going to try, as well as scoping out what's available in the store. (Just saw a commercial for high protein Quaker Oats granola bars...thought I'd look at those.)
I'm still trying to think of something I can have for her to eat in the car...the days that she goes to after school activities, I usually have a snackie for her to eat on our way, since I pick her up and we go right to dance class, skating lesson, etc. I'm thinking about experimenting with a peanut butter cookie recipe and adding protein powder or something. I've never worked with tofu as soy is my biggest migraine trigger, but it's something to think about. (I just wouldn't be able to taste whatever I made for her to see if it was any good.)
