What should we do with our Jet Blue credit, go to WDW of course Pre-Trip Report!! - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Not boring . I'm hooked! Looking forward to hearing more about your plans. Good idea to start your pre-trip several months before, rather than 4 days before like I did .
And, I too, noticed your big weight loss! Way to go!
How old are your boys? They look like such fun Disney ages!
Thanks I am glad I'm not boring you, I figured I would start it now because come Sept 3, the boys and I are back in school and I will have a lot less time.
My boys are 3 1/2 and 8 1/2 and they both love anything Disney, my MIL thinks I am brain washing my children because they like it some much. What can I say they take after their Mom.
Ok, lets finally get to some details about our credit reduced airfare so why not go to WDW in December 2008 trip .
While we were deciding on when to go back to WDW this year, my DSis was planning a big 40th b-day bash for her and her family at Disney and guess what her b-day just happens to be DEC 3rd , which just happens to be our favorite time of year to go now.
Do you see what's coming?
Since my DSis and her family are Disney fanactics like us, we thought it would be nice to go together. That's all I needed to hear and we were on aboard the Disney train.
So now not only are we going at our new favorite time of the year but we going with my DSis which makes it even more special. We have not been on vacation together since we were kids and can't wait to share the Disney experience together with our kids.
But wait it gets even better, my DM said that she would like to come and bring my DNep too.
Wow I can't believe it this trip is turning into a mini grand gathering .
wow 11 of you at one time. I hope you get to have a wonderful time and congrats on the weight loss. It all looks like its coming together for you and your family. Can't wait to read more.
I am a SAHM to two handsome boys and a full-time college student pursuing a degree in Elementray Education, in the hopes of becoming a teacher someday. I have been married to my wonderful DH for 16 1/2 years. I have been to Disney 7 times but didn't really become obsessed with it until I took my kids and viewed it through their eyes. My favorite pass times besides coming to the PP boards and planning for Disney are spending time with my family, going to the beach and going to see my favorite band in concert Bon Jovi, love them.
He works really hard at his 2 jobs, full-time building maintenance and part-time butcher. He has been to Disney 5 times all of them with me, infact he had never been on a plane until we took our honeymoon to WDW. His family never really took vacations when he was growing up, so traveling was a whole new world to him when he met me. Sadly he really doesn't get the Disney thing and thinks that I am truly obsessed with it. I think he comes along on the trips to appease me and the kids but if he had is way he would probably stay home. He did admit that he really had a great time on or last trip so maybe someday he will cross over to the Disney side.
He will be turning 9 two weeks before our trip and is going into the 4th grade. He is super excited about learning an instrument this year, he picked the clarinet. He has been to Disney 3 times and each time we go back he gets braver and braver with the rides. He is totally into roller coasters this year and promises me he will go on the RnRC with me. Yeah I finally have a coaster buddy. He loves going on vacations, staying in hotels, loves traffic lights and trains. He is favorite ride at WDW is the MK Railroad.
He also will be celebrating a birthday one week before our trip turning the big 4. He is my adventurous child not afraid to try or do anything. He has been to Disney 2 times and loves everything Disney especially all the Pixar movies, his favorite at the moment is Toy Story. He is going into his second year of pre-school and has no problem making friends with any kids he meets. He will go and talk to anyone who is around him.
She works hard at 2 jobs to care for my 2 nephews who live with her. She has been to Disney 4 times and is almost as crazy about it as me. She is my best friend and we are very close, we do a lot together including going to see our favorite band Bon Jovi.
He and my DS1 are only 2 months apart and kinda have a love hate relationship. One minute their best friends and than next thing you know they are mad at each other. His is going into the third grade and is looking forward to his 2nd Disney trip.
DSis and Family The Kowalski's
DSis Chrissy (turning 40 during trip)
DBil Ron (42)
DNep Michael (5)
DNep Jack (4)
DNep Kenny (4)

What can I say about the Kowalski's, they are crazy about Disney too, they have been to WDW and the Disney cruise many times and my DSis is just as much of a planner if not better than me.
Up next When are we going and where are we going to stay.
wow 11 of you at one time. I hope you get to have a wonderful time and congrats on the weight loss. It all looks like its coming together for you and your family. Can't wait to read more.
We are all looking forward to it, we all haven't been on vacation together since we were kids.
Thank you for the compliment on my weight loss, I am not use to getting such nice comments, it makes me feel really good.
Just getting caught up!! Yay for JB credits!!! That's what allowed us to take our May trip (credits from our 2007 free-dining trip). And you look wonderful--what an amazing accomplishment!
How nice it is to share the Disney obsession within the family-of all my siblings I'm the only one bit by the Disney bug! If my mom would get on a plane I know she'd have a great time-but she refuses to travel any other way but car & both her & my dad are getting to the point that they can't tolerate long road trips anymore. I'd drive with them but by the time we arrived I'd be pulling my hair out from frustration (as I'd want to drive straight through 16+ hours)........I'd rather drop the $$ nowadays and fly.
I'm hoping to stay at the Poly for my 40th birthday that's 2.5 years away.......I can dream, can't I?
