As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Looking for opinions from those of you that have the Disney Luggage. I've seen it online and it's only around $55 (plus shipping which I'm sure isn't cheap to ship luggage) for 3 pieces. I currently have my pullman (not huge but decent size) , and end up using a duffle bag too. I've been wanting to get some new luggage anyway and since myself, DBF, and his son will be going to WDW in Dec we need more luggage to fit all those layers I think we'll end up needing to take. His son only has a very small pullman type suitcase more suited for overnights, and DBF has the biggest duffle bag on the face of the earth which he hates. (I keep saying one of these days I'm climbing in to see if I can fit).
Was it what you were expecting or were you disappointed? Is it made pretty well, like it won't fall apart after one use? Also how large are they? They give the measurements but I'm horrible with being able to visualize the size of things based on measurements so it really doesn't help me figure out how much I could stuff in them. TIA!
Which luggage set are you considering? There are quite a few different designs and prices. I looked at e-bags and the Disney shopping site and ended up buying a set in the on-line outlet store:
I've only used it on one trip so far, but it seems perfectly sturdy, good-sized, the wheels work well. I had been using a HUGE rolling bag from LL Bean that I could fit inside (I did try it--I could even close the lid!) and was worried that even the largest Disney one would be too small, but it held quite a bit.
I bought some Mickey luggage from Disney a couple years ago and it is still going strong. It holds a lot more than you think it will. It is pretty durable.

I have a red set that was given to me for my birthday a few years ago. It was purchased from Disneyshopping.com. Great set! I am considering buying another set for our cruise this summer for Charlie and Macy to use.
The great thing about disneyshopping.com is they offer free shipping or $5 shipping on purchases over a certain amt. Also if you have Disney Visa you can get a discount. I would definately look for the deals. They offer them so often they usually scroll above with the codes and Disneyvisarewards has the codes too and specials. I love shopping at disney I buy a lot of stuff at christmas and halloween so I don't have to fight the crowds and they also sell stuff from the disney store.

I purchased the taupe set for myself last year and I LOVE IT! As hard as the airlines are on luggage - I thought it was worth trying. It is very sturdy and I love the wheels. They are like in-line skate wheels. You can push or pull any way you want! So - since I loved my set so much, I bought dh the gray set a couple of months ago. He just shook his head when he saw it! He couldn't believe he was the proud owner of Mickey luggage! But let me tell you - we have no problem picking out our luggage at the baggage claim! And dh really likes that!
I think the luggage is a great deal!
I bought the red set Laurie showed you as well. I haven't used it yet, but feel that it is as durable as any other luggage set out there. The largest case is not as large as the HUGE suitcase I am used to, but then again, my large suitcase is about the size of a steamer trunk and I'm always in trouble at the airport because I pack for DS, DH and myself. I always over pack and it gets over weight! With the three pieces, I think I'll have plenty of room for my stuff.

We have the older 3-piece expandable set in black, with Mickey Mouse (full body) on it. The two bags are plenty big for the 4 of us, and we use the smaller bag to carry our toiletries.

When I was at our local AAA to book our June WDW trip, they had a black set and a dark pink and black set. I am very fond of the dark pink and black set, it has a Mickey head outlines all over it. I am going to pick up a piece at a time when I go in to pay on our trip. AAA had a cool promotion for January that if you booked at 7 night or more MYW plan with dining you get a free piece of rolling disney luggage when you go to pick up your doccuments. My agent thinks that I will get to pick from the 2 patterns that they have on the floor!! How cool is that !!
I have also seen the Disney luggage at sears for the same price as online. It was $55 per piece. The only problem was that it is not as large as the luggage that I have already. But I will just have to get an extra bag to make up the space. No problem, right?
I love the set we bought; we've flown several times, and travelled by car as well, and they're wonderful. They also hold a ton of stuff... I recommend the set very highly!
