As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). Walt is still waiting on his W2. His employer always sends it at the last possible moment. We'll drop it off for our accountant pretty much as soon as it arrives. It'll probably be a decent enough refund to cover the deposits for our two trips this summer. (One place requires a 50% deposit within 7 days of booking [despite them having no rooms booked this early in the year ], so we're waiting on that. )
Still waiting on my W-2 form. Then, we have to get an appointment with the accountant. So, we probably won't even file until April. We don't usually get much back anyway.
We are still waiting on our paperwork too. Just a note to everyone though. If you send in your tax forms prior to Feb 10th, apparently it will take 6 to 12 weeks to get refund back. What happened is the IRS was very late in getting out I think it was Alternative Minimum Tax info. So, accordingly, they are still working on some of that and any returns sent in prior to Feb 10th will just go in a pile to wait. I heard this a couple of weeks ago on the news. Even if you are doing direct deposit they are still projecting this wait time because they are not assigning tax returns to be processed until after this date.
I'm still waiting on my 2nd W-2 from my old job, so no. I'm anxious to go ahead and file though, especially since I just paid my property taxes a few weeks ago!

I'm almost done. I'm waiting for my W2. Even though I didn't work, I still got a check from the company for the employee/share thingy since I worked 3/4's of the year before (it was part of the severance package). It's going to be a good year for us as well, since we're getting quite a lot back and I wasn't sure how that would work out with me not working anymore Then DH can adjust his filing so we'll have more in our pocket every month
Went to the accountant last week and everything was e-filed. I already got my CT state refund but I'm still waiting for the MA state and Fed refunds which should arrive this week. (I have to file in two states because I live in MA but work in CT)
Reading your post, I just realized that I left work without getting my W2 out of my mialbox before the 3 day weekend. Luke will have ours done very quickly once we have all the necessary paperwork.

I got my W2 last week, either Wed or Thurs I forget but I filed that day and my refund is suppose to be direct deposited next Friday. I will be paying off a trip to WDW yeah!!!!!!!!!!!
We filed ours last weekend, but had some wierd errors with Turbo Tax and it kept getting rejected. It finally went thru on Friday, and then we just have to wait for it to be deposited.

I was furious w/TurboTax because the website was down all day the first day the IRS accepted e-files. Mine was kicked back because somehow my SSN got transposed! Got it fixed and refiled and just waiting for the 25th.
