As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I love the blocks Rachel!! Each of my kids got a set of wooden blocks when they were little. It's so cool that they come in German, I'm sure Wally will love them and I definitely think you should try to keep it a surprise.
For Christmas this year Molly wants Barbies and more Barbies, Bratz dolls and a bike to replace the one I ran over at the shore (but she did leave it behind my car). Katie hasn't really told me anything so I don't know. Shannon wants everything but will probably be getting some Wii games, some DVDs and CDs and possibly a Ipod Shuffle. Erin wants an Ipod Nano and clothes. They will all also get books and games. I don't know what I am getting for my DH or anyone else on my list yet. I guess I better get moving.

Dniece is getting a new camera and a jacket from Aunt T; while DNephew is getting a .... well I don't know what he is getting yet - since nothing has jumped put at me yet. I have bought them both Disney Scene It II and Disney Dance Dance Revolution.
I go way overboard (don't let me DH hear me admit this!) for my grandkids, ok kids too. I spent some time this afternoon sorting it all out on the guestroom bed (where I should be staging my things to pack for WDW!) and now I can try and finish up. The grandkids are done (Youngest DGrdS' bday is actually Christmas day, so had to buy for that too). No clue on the kids/spouses or DH. He has a bday before the holiday too, but I've got that covered at WDW.
To all who are done shopping, congrats. For those who are not done, take care and spend wisely! lol

Amanda is probably getting a digital camera - she hasn't really asked for anything other than some gift cards to shop for stuff for her dorm room.
Jennie wants a laptop - she'll need one for college next year, and we did that for Amanda last year - so we'll see. I'm a little nervous buying it now, since she hasn't decided on a school yet. I'd hate to buy it, and find out that she needs something different. If not - her list is always a mile long.
Sarah - I'm not sure on. She wants a cell phone in the worst way - but she's only 11. She'll probably get some DS games (she lost most of hers last year on a trip to Grammy's.) Hair and makeup stuff is always a hit.
I've also gotten some family gifts - a bunch of books, DVDs, and so far I've bought Super Mario Galaxy for our Wii. I'm looking into Guitar Hero III for the Wii as well - we've got the PS2 wired version, and they love it.
I miss the days of toys! On a happy note - if we end up traveling to Virginia for the day - I can fit all the stuff in the Suburban. In years past - the big plastic stuff (kitchens, bikes, etc) took up my whole living room and then some! Those days - the bigger the package, the happier the kid. (And they always played most with the box!!)
I'm so envious as I haven't got anything yet! Planning to start this week.......I'll probably regret that decision though as my plan is to come home Friday morning from work, take a shower, and hit the stores......yeah, I know.....Black Friday.....UGH! I'm hoping for some good sales though, it's the only reason I'm being brave enough to go!
I LOVE black Friday, always have! My mother and I always shopped on that day but way back in the 50's & 60's it was actually crazier than it seems today! So many stores open on Thanksgiving to get an early start, some do Thursday evening, and then the others do the 5am bit so it is a little more spread out than when it used to be just the big deparment stores to go to. Then we used to have to wait in line to ride upstairs on the escalator or elevator!!
Warning for anyone who is going to go to a 24hr. store for their 6am specials, they won't sell things before the published time, but people get in line for the items sometimes hours beforehand. I saw this once at a Meijers store and it wasn't pretty when the people who came in at 6:00 saw the huge lines already waiting for the advertised special (a TV).
