As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

We'll be staying at POR for our upcoming trip (family of 5 going) - now youngest daughter is giving us a bit of a problem about sleeping in that trundle bed. (You know how it goes - "I'm the youngest; I get the littlest bed...and if my sisters get mad at me, they might just roll me right underneath the bed some night...")
So - is it possible to bring one of those self-inflating air mattresses and use that?
Is there space in the room for it?
I think everyone would be happier if we put two little sisters together and gave 17 yr old her own bed.
I don't know that an air mattress would be much different than just pulling out the trundle. DD was 5 when we went last, and she LOVED the trundle. It was her own bed, and her own space. We did the same thing when we went to visit DBIL. We took a princess sleeping bag for her, and made it really cool that it was her space. When she was really tired she'd crash anywhere anyway!! Maybe if you play up the excitement of having her very own bed, and take a special blanket, pillow, or a small sleeping bag to put on the truncle with you it'll be easier. There's room for a small air mattress, but nothing more than a small twin size.

It will be a tight fit, but you could use the air mattress. We had family who stayed at POR and got a roll-away bed, but it sure didn't leave much room!

I agree that it would fit in the room if it's a twin size, but I would personally would stick with the trundle. Once you are there I think that the Magic Of Disney would take over and that little bed will be a minor detail of your trip. My son slept on it last year at age 4, and we are planning on him doing it again this year.
I think "making it special" in some way is a wonderful idea! Maybe you can take a pillow case along with you to the parks, have the characters sign it and then use it on the bed at night.
Most kids pass out just about anywhere when they've had a busy day at Disney!

I'm sure it would fit, but I think once she sees the trundle she is going to think it is WAY cool!! We were in an AB room with just the 3 of us and I had to talk DS out of wanting to sleep on it! (It rolled out in front of the door to the connecting room & my aunt was in there. I feared she'd step on him in the middle of the night and hurt herself)
You can put a twin air mattress in the spot where the trundle slides out to. If you use the trundle you might want to bring a sleeping bag for a little extra padding.
O.K. Here's my input. Last September I took my Mom, Son (6), oldest Niece (12), and oldest Nephew(9) and we stayed at PO-R. The boys ended up in one bed, my Mom and Niece in the other, and I got saddled with the trundle bed (I'm 5'7"). At the time I was all like "Ugh....not fair." By the end of the vacation I was the luckiest and well-rested of us all I didn't has fridgety sleepers next to me and the trundle bed is surprisely comfy. You actually might end up with a fight over who get the trundle. I will say that with the trundle, you able to get up in the morning, push in the bed and you're done with it because we found our problem was it was already cramped in the room. Space is precious so we found that organization is the KEY to hotel roomm sanity. Good Luck!
Just a thought: How about offering the trundle to the 17 year old? That way, she's got her own bed and the younger ones get to sleep in one bed together...
