As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

CAST OF CHARACTERS:
Myself (32) - Disney nut. Only been 11 times, that number needs to be higher.
DH (32) - Pete, AKA Mr. Anti-Disney. Mostly cuz he doesn't like giving $$ to a mouse. But we'll see how that changes as our children get older.
DD5 - Jaden. Lucky dog, she's been twice already in her short life. She's the shy one who's starting to get bolder and braver with age. We'll be celebrating her 5th birthday (5/12) a little bit too.
DD3 - Camille. Another lucky dog, she's been twice with her sister too. She's the crazy and clumsy one. Gotta keep an eye on this one.
DS6mos - Wyatt. YEA!!! His first trip to the World!! Not that he'll remember, but what the heck. He'll look cute in the pictures.
Pete's parents - Carol and John (59 and 61). This is where it gets interesting. They've never been to WDW(what??). Infact, this is Pete's first "family" vacation with his parents that didn't involve hockey tournaments, hockey camp, or just anything hockey in general. Pete's not too sure he can put up with them for an entire week.... Also a good thing to note - Carol has only flown once in her life. She has to take dramamine and wear a motion sickness patch. So let's hope the flight is uneventful for her sake!
DATES OF FANTASY:
Sunday May 27-Sunday June 3. So we can catch the end of Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival (Carol's interest) and Jaden will be done with pre-school.
LOCATION OF DREAMING:
Due to the large party size and Pete's penny pinching worries, we're staying off site at an All-Star Vacation homes 3 bedroom condo. This is all new to me. I hope it's not too inconvenient, we'll see soon. Jennifer and Dave reported to like their place, so I'm guessing ours should be nice too. It will be rough staying offsite with 3 little kids though.
SCHEDULE OF WISHING:
Seeing as how I'm the former travel agent, I always get stuck with planning everything. I asked the in-laws specific questions to make sure they're happy with what we're doing, and her answer was "you go ahead and plan whatever you want." Great. Now I'm responsible for making sure everyone is happy without knowing what is going to make you happy. But I digress. Here is what's cookin':
Sunday - take it easy at the condo, play in the pool, grocery shop and get to bed early.
Monday - Epcot. The only requirement here is a FP for Soarin. Definitely hit Nemo and ths seas. After that, we're gonna wing it. Eat around the world and see what strikes our fancy. This is Carol's day. Hopefully, kids will stay for Illuminations, but we may have to take the little ones back to the condo early. (we have 2 rental cars for just such an occasion. Nuts, I know.)
Tuesday - MGM. Mostly for the kids, so we'll sleep in a little bit. In-laws may appreciate this park, we'll see. H&V Fantasmic package for dinner. Although, with the loud fireworks and time of the show, Camille, Wyatt and either Pete or I may go back to the condo early.
Wednesday - Sea World. This was supposed to be our "day off". But John really wants to go. And who am I to say no? We're all Sea World virgins, so I have no idea what we're doing here. I've done enough research to figure things out, but I won't know my way around the park and I don't like that feeling!!
Thursday - Animal Kingdom. We'll sleep in a little bit this morning too. But I have to get there early enough to get a FP for Everest!!!
Friday - Magic Kingdom. yea!! Finally, my favorite!! CRT for Jaden's birthday breakfast (gotta get her birthday button first) The girls will dress up as Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Later is dinner at Crystal Palace - Pooh is Carol's favorite. So excited for this day!!
Saturday - time to rest, Ahhhh. Pete and John are going fishing and Carol and the kids and myself are going to Cape May cafe for a character breakfast. The rest of the day will be free.
Then it will be time to pack for our flight home on Sunday. Wait a minute, didn't we just get here?
REASON FOR THE INSANITY:
It is crazy to do all this with 3 little kids. I'm totally aware of this. But I don't think Pete's parents will ever come back, so I wanna pack everything in that I can. I know we'll be back next year, but I wanna make sure Carol and John can experience everything. Oh, the main reason for this trip was unbelievable airfare - $138 round trip on Midwest airlines. Holy cow!!
That's it for now. Wyatt's crying in his crib, I guess he's not napping today. I'll try my best to do the post trip when we return, but it's hard to find time to do all this. Does anyone know where you can buy time?? I could sure use some.

Great start. We've stayed in homes rented from AllStar and they were always super. The condo's are not very far from Disney property but 192 can have heavy traffic. Hope you have a great time.
I hope that you and your family have a magical time at the world.

Sounds like a wonderful plan! Are you planning to do Country Bear Jamboree with the little ones and the in-laws? I think that would be fun. Have a great time.
I haven't seen Country Bear Jamboree in such a long time. If the kids are in a good mood and could use a resting break, that's a great idea. Thanks!
Yup, DisneyDani, lots of us PP's will be there at this time. If I knew I had some free time, I'd love to meet some face to face. We'll have a little open time, so maybe it'll be easy to spot us PP's with our "gear" on!!!
Tomorrow is only 3 more days!! wooo hooo!!!!
