Fort Wilderness Transportation Guide

The following is an update to page 67 of PassPorter™ Walt Disney WorldŽ (1999 Edition) for the convenience of our current readers and for the enjoyment of our future readers.

Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is located on 700 acres of sprawling, densely-forested grounds. On the plus side, it accommodates many guests in relative privacy. On the down side, transportation within the resort and out to the parks is often complicated and time-consuming. To help you make the most of your stay at the Fort Wilderness (or even just a visit to the resort), we offer a detailed transportation guide to the right.

The paragraph below is a direct, copy-and-paste update to the text in the PassPorter. Please note that it includes a correction and should completely replace the bottom paragraph on page 166 of the PassPorter. We gratefully acknowledge reader Laurie Hoffman for spotting it and bringing it to our attention so we could correct it here!

GETTING ABOUT

Boats take you to the Magic Kingdom. To get to Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney, and other resorts, take the Crockett or Boone bus to theTransportation & Ticket Center (TTC) and transfer to an appropriate bus. An internal bus system is available; however, you may want to rent an electric cart if you wish to move about the resort frequently. A car is helpful at this resort, too. Getting around within the resort is confusing at times -- we recommend you allow plenty of time for travel.
