What kind or rooms are the bear face rooms? Do they have king, queen, bunk or are they just one specific kind?

Could you explain what you mean by "bear face" rooms?
I think I remember something about the design of the building making a part of it look like a bear's face.....is that what you mean?

In any case, the rooms throughout the lodge are varied and mixed. There are some of each kind of room in most sections of the lodge.

I've been trying to find an answer to this question also. We've booked a bunkbed room and I was wondering if there were any bunkbed room's in the "inner courtyard near the lobby aka bearface rooms".

When you approach the Wilderness Lodge from the boats, you'll see a bear's face in the front of the building -- it's formed by little peaked gables for the eyes, a large gable for his snout and fangs from two white columns. You can sort of see it in these pictures:

The snout is part of an upper lobby -- and I'm not sure what the gabled windows are? Are they rooms? I think they may just be windows from the concierge lounge.

thanks Eileen! Every time I stay there, I try to see the "bear" but never could. I sorta see it in the pics!!

The "bear" face is best seen at night when the lights are on and shining through those peaks and gables that are in the upper levels of the lobby part of the building. So if you stand out by the pool...or even better..out on the ferry on the water at night...you can see the "bear" face (eyes, nose and mouth). Now in answer to the question... I do know for a fact that some of those levels in the very center of the courtyard are actually public porches for anyone to go out on and sit on benches and chairs...we did this and went up on the 5th or sixth floor and sat out there...the view was spectacular with a dead on view of Bay Lake, the courtyard, etc. I cannot remember if there's actually rooms that would be up there on that side of the lobby. I thought the rooms on the lobby were those floors that were on either side of over the checkin area or over Whispering Canyon. I think there's rooms that may face front (that would overlook the porte corchere entrance), but maybe I'm wrong. Maybe someone else may know.

Most, if not all, of the "nose" that Eileen outlined (that large triangular part) is the public viewing porch, which is where I sat one afternoon. As far as the "eyes" part, I THINK that could be guest rooms but not certain. Anything below the "nose" part could also be guest rooms, but I cannot tell from the photo.

yes, the area below the "nose" on the second roof area are guest rooms. Here's a link: Wilderness Lodge Room Numbers rooms 067-079 are those rooms by the nose or under the nose. lol

Now when we go back in Jan, maybe I'll be able to see it!

I can see those lower rooms are guest rooms, I can see the balconies.

The public viewing areas are very nice, Ranger Stan took us to one of them on his Tour of The Lodge.
