As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Pooh and the crew do Disney... Day One: The Tagalongs
I am glad your first day turned out good even though you had tagalongs the whole time.
I think it is funny when people make plans without consulting you first. You handled it like a champ.

Pooh and the crew do Disney... Day One: The Tagalongs
Hey guys.... I am going to start this trip report off by saying this is going to be the "Momma" of all trip reports... in detail... as much as it can be... lol.
Day One: The Tag-A-Longs
The Crew:
Momma Pooh(Theresa) still 25 on day one... about the 20th trip to WDW for me
Eeyore(PawPaw) 59 yrs old... 4th trip
Rabbit(Gammaw) 55 yrs old... 4th trip
Tigger(Connor) 3 1/2 yrs old... 1st trip... my outspoken one
Piglet(Christopher) 2 1/2 yrs old... 1st trip... my shy one
September 17th - 23rd All Star Movies
The Adventure...
As many of you know, we had left Pensacola on Friday night to drive down to Sanford, FL(about a 8 hour trip) to visit with my father's cousin for the weekend. Well we made it down there without to much of a problem and had a great visit with them. On Sunday night, Margie, dad's cousin, who is in her early 60s informs us that she and her daughter Carol(39 yrs old) and Carol's daughter Lacey(4 yrs old) are going with us to Disney for day one. Now I realize that we had spent the weekend in their home and it would have been rude to say no, but the thing that ruffled my feathers was that we were never asked what our plans for day one was. We had planned on going to ASMovies to get our passes early in the A.M. and heading over to Animal Kingdom until our room was ready that afternoon. So right off the bat we had a monkey wrench thrown at us. With a quick adjustment we reloaded the van, set the alarm clock and went to bed.
Monday morning we were up and at'em ready to go... the new plan was that we would all leave at the same time and we would go to the resort to check-in while the "tag-a-longs" went on to the MK to get tickets and we would call them on the cell phone as soon as we got to the park.
We arrive at ASMovies and I left the rest of the "Pooh Patrol" in the van and went in to do the "pre" check in to get the passes. There was no one in line... I walked right up to the desk and Hilda checked me in and told me that the room was ready... Building 9, Toy Story... facing the courtyard... just as we had requested! I asked about E-ticket night for Tuesday and she handed me 4 additional cards and said that since they had had several cancellations that they were giving E-tickets to guest who asked as a "thank you" for showing up... WOOHOO... saved me right at $50... things are going good!
I head out to the van and tell the "patrol" that we can go drop off the luggage in the room. As we round the corner and the boys spot the giant Buzz and Woody they go CRAZY
We made it to the room... dropped off the luggage and made a dash back to the van to head over to MK to meet the tag-a-longs.
We take the monorail over to the kingdom and the minute Connor spots the castle he squeals, "Isney Orld Mommie Isney Orld"... I instantly melt! Christopher pipes in with "Mic Ouse Mic Ouse". We get off the rail and head down the ramp to the gate. They have tables set up with security guards to check bags going in. Well you have to image this backpack I have.... it's the many zippered wonder! 6 zippered compartments... "Ed" the security guard laughed the whole time saying "you are making me earn my check today aren't ya' little lady". He was a doll!
We get threw security and head on to Main Street where I proceed to phone Carol. She answers that they are in the pre-loading room for Festival of the Lion King so we take off that way. It is already noon and there is hardly anyone in the park. We zip over to FOTLK and walk right in, find the tag-a-longs and in we go. I had not seen this show and I loved it! The boys bopped around in their seats to the music. My parents both sat there in disbelief... keep in mind they have not been to WDW in 18 years. After we left there we decided to do lunch... Pinocchio's Village Haus... 3 1/4 lb Cheeseburger Meals, 2 Childrens Hot Dog Meals and 3 regular size drinks... total for lunch $27.95.
It was at this point that the "tag-a-longs" inform us what they do and more importantly don't want to do. We proceeded to head over to Toontown where the boys and Lacey got to meet Minnie and Mickey.... both of the boys went wild... Christopher screamed "Mic Ouse" and takes off running into his arms giving him smooches... while I stand there snapping pictures, video taping and crying. Connor is flirting with Minnie. From there we proceed to Snow White... then on to Pooh(my first time... and I LOVED it!!!!)... then on to Dumbo(Carol and PawPaw sat this one out... Carol didn't want to do it at all and didn't want Lacey to either but we took over and we won!).... then on to Country Bear Jamboree which everyone loved... the boys were slapping their knees and standing up in the aisle and dancing... it was priceless! Then on to the Jungle Cruise(which Carol again balked at but we left her on a park bench and went anyway )
By this time it was getting close to 7 and the park was getting ready to close. We headed over to check out the ToonTown pics... Carol bought Lacey's.... we chose to wait to see if we could get better ones since they hold them for 5 days. We found out we had about 30 minutes left so we all hoped on the train for a quick ride around the park. Both of the boys are HUGE train fans(they even have those Little Tykes train beds) so this was a highlight for them). As we were getting off the train one of the engineers comes over and said he heard squealing and wanted to give the boys a "honorary engineers certificate" which he proceeded to hand them along with two Mickey Train pins... our first big Magical Moment!
We head out to the monorail and over to the parking lot. The tag-a-longs give out hugs and wish us a safe week and off they go. We get in the van and head back to the hotel.
Once back we walk in the room to find that WDW Florist had delivered the cooler bag full of goodies, along with 2 autograph books and big pens, a big Pluto beanie and a big Goofy beanie... the card was signed "To Connor and Christopher, hope your first trip to Disney is full of magic, love the Disney Gang.... they LOVED it!!! Then we head down to the Food Court and purchase 2 refillable mugs(we cheated and would always take the boys little cups with us and use our mugs to fill them up first and then refill for us... dad had a cooler in the room full of "adult beverages... aka MGD). We ordered a large Pepp. Pizza... total for dinner and the two mugs $31.97.
We head back to the room... eat... shower and head out to the courtyard for the boys to tell Buzz and Woody goodnight(Which would become a ritual). Back to the room for some "story time" and then lights out.
Total for food that day: $59.92
Coming Soon... Day Two: Meeting the Heroes and Awesome display but wrong location!

Re: Pooh and the crew do Disney... Day One: The Tagalongs
Awesome report! I'm glad that I don't have to wait for the follow up days since I'm so late reading it. I'm glad you were able to do everything you wanted with your tag-a-longs with "restrictions." I'm with you...leave 'em on the bench to wait if they don't want to join in the fun!
