As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). My collections are all vacation related. I get a new fridge magnet on every vacation. And I have a collection of crystal Disney figurines I get at the crystal shop in Germany at Epcot on every Disney trip.
Growing up I collected Boyds Bear resin figurines and still have quite a few, but I no longer add to my collection.

bells.. I've been collecting bells for over 30 years now & have a huge collection. (over 300 bells) I've been thinking of downsizing but just can't bear to part with them. I think I've got a bell from almost all 50 states & a lot of overseas bells... I also have every Disney bell ever made
I also collect Disney partners memorabilia but since there is not a lot of Partners items out there , my collection is much smaller.
I collect disney snowglobes and disney "barbie" character dolls.....I also have Pal Mickey....my Disney Girl Doll....and seasonal Mickey and Minnies.....and Duffys......and ornaments from trips...and home-made (my entire Christmas tree is Disney.
My DH likes to buy a shot glass souvenier whenever we go somewhere. Why? Who knows, lol. The kids get a fridge magnet souvenier, which is funny since I don't hang doodles on the fridge! I do get a "year" dated snowglobe when we go to WDW
Not really (although my husband would probably say I collect jewelry! Ha!). I guess the closest thing to collecting I do is getting a new WDW charm for my bracelet every time I go to WDW. Sometimes I feel like I collect dogs, LOL, since we always have at least 4.

Our family gets a fridge magnet every time we go somewhere new. Our fridge is covered with magnets from all over the world. One of my favorites is a hand painted wooden one that we picked up in Nassau on our very first Disney cruise.

I use to collect thimbles but once I filled up my 100 count display I was pretty much done. I also use to collect decorative birdhouses but ran out of room in my kitchen for those so stopped. Now I don't collect anything since quitting my job last year to babysit our granddaughter. There isn't income to waste on collectables anymore.... or room in our house.
I collect Precious Moments, although I only get about 2-3 a year. I always get the annual piece and one or two favorites. I also collect shot glasses - this started when I went to Vegas for my 21st birthday. My DH travels a lot and brings them back from everywhere. We have them from all over the world.
We are also collect unique items from around the world, because of my DH's travels. We have hippos figurines from Africa, an authentic coo-coo clock from Germany, rugs from Turkey, wall hangings from multiple places. We have a very eclectic house.
My DD12 collects Disney Jim Shore figurines and my DS9 collects Vinylmation. They also don't try to own every one, just their favorites.
I have a small select collection of giraffe, but I hate to say that I collect them because when I had some teddy bears, everyone I knew bought me more. I don't want a collection that overwhelms.
I used to collect Disney Dollars, but I haven't for quite some time.
I don't really collect anything right now because people tend to always give me the collectible item as a gift. It takes the fun out of it and becomes over whelming.
