As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Does Sea World allow water and snacks to be brought into the park?
From Sea World's website:
"Restaurants and concession stands are located conveniently throughout the park. Large hard or soft coolers, glass containers, food, drinks and picnic lunches may not be taken into the park. Guests with special diets, baby formula or baby food may bring their items into the park. "
I know last year when we went, we took our big water cups with us into the parks but we didn't try to take in food. I wonder if it's because Lenny was on a scooter that they didn't question the cups in the basket.

You can buy a pass that includes meals. Maybe it would be a good thing for you to check out? That would save you a bundle right there. We got our tickets thru AAA at a great price that included a meal and, it was less than our travel agent quoted on the package she was working up for us. You can check out your options at Sea World's website.
Thanks for the info everyone. I was hoping we could at least bring in water. I hate paying theme park prices for a bottle of water. One of the things I love about Disney is being able to save some money by bringing in our water and few kid friendly snacks. I will check out the AAA deal.
I used to take goldfish crackers and fruit snacks everywhere -- and I don't remember SeaWorld giving us trouble with them. And frankly, I'd try with the "starter water" (one bottle) for everyone. Worst case scenario, someone runs the bottles back to the car.
The dining plan at SeaWorld rarely saves money. Ask at restaurants for free cups of ice. Normally they will not confiscate bottled water or a few snacks as all one has to say is that they are diabetic or on a special diet.

I was reading an article this last week plus a couple sites by Sea World itself that contradicts itself. Other than these Sea World sites I have read that the State of Florida have has the water (only) problem before and has passed a law that water could be brought into all theme parks by guests in the state.
Back to Sea World and their sites one link indicates that drinks, other than water, could be brought into the park if the container was opened. No closed containers. Another link indicated that a small individual snack could be brought into the park.
Possibly this is why Sea World allowed guests to bring in water and a snack without questioning.
Somewhere there is a large list of do's and don'ts on drinks and food that guests can bring into the park. Mainly it restricts the food, closed containers or open containers, etc.
We were just there last week. We brought water bottles and individual snacks and fruit into the park in my backpack, without a problem. My sister in law brought juice boxes and snacks for their kids We saw them turn away people with sandwiches and whole lunches packed though. We also bought Sea World's refillable cup on our trip in April. We brought it back this trip for .99 cent refills. You can refill with slushies for $2.99 I think. These cups are a great deal especially if you are visiting their sister parks. We used the cup at Aquatica, their water park across the street from Sea World and during our day at Bush Gardens, Tampa. The sign says they are good for the season. I asked if I could use them at the other parks and was told , yes.
