As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). I have a trip to France for work. My last night, I'm at the Shearaton at CDG. If things wrap up early, I could be at CDG by 2pm. Would it be worth trying to go to DLP for an evening? What would be T

When are you going? Is it in the near future? I ask because the British, who are the main visitors to Disneyland Paris, are on school holidays until the start of September. As a result, I would imagine the parks will be mobbed. If it's the next few weeks, I'm not sure I'd bother.
I'd only try for an evening if I knew it was going to be really quiet and, even then, I'm not sure I'd go just for an evening. I'd want to see it properly and would want to spend a good couple of days there. I think I'd probably go into the centre of Paris for the evening in your position....
Thanks for the quick reply. I will be arriving Tuesday morning, then to Rouen Tues until Friday after my meetings end, then to Paris Friday after that. I have a 10am flight back to the States Saturday. I may follow your advice re: seeing Paris instead. I've been to the Eiffle Tower on a previous trip, but was a bit rushed. Maybe a Hop on Hop off tour would be a better way to unwind. Then trying a taste of DLP during summer holidays.
Of course, I may need to come back next quarter. Any advise on a "good" time in October-November?
I have to agree with Chez, it's going to be extremely busy at DLP on a Friday night in the middle of summer. And unfortunately, DLP doesn't handle large crowds like this very well. Also, you wouldn't arrive until 3pm, which doesn't leave too much time.
Now, October and November is a completely different story. Halloween is busy, of course, but other than that, you should be fine. Since DLP does get its fair share of local visitors, I'd try to go during the week, say Tuesday thru Thursday preferably.
The only downside is that the weather won't be as nice. The further you go towards winter, the bigger the chances of rainy and/or cold weather. That said, it's still great to be at DLP!
I'm with Sabine, now I know when you're looking at going. I wouldn't go near Disneyland Paris on a Friday night in the summer. We've been before in September and the Halloween celebrations were amazing - we loved what they did for it. It will be a lot quieter then, but the weather is definitely a challenge. I've been to Disneyland Paris in the pouring rain, biting wind and snow on various different visits.

Disneyland Paris in October/November is quiet but as others have mentioned...the weather is a real problem. Seine et Marne (where Disney is) tends to get a lot of rain around that time. The benefit is that you don't have to wait very long in the parks.
