As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

This is all the info I got when I asked about a new cruise ship since we're planning one in 2012 and I didn't know what book to get:
"The Disney Fantasy is expected in late 2012. We'll probably know within another week or so just what the 2012 cruise schedule will look like. If you want to jump right on those bookings (possibly available a few weeks or more from now), then you'll have to depend on the current (2010) edition. There's a lot of info in there about the Dream, and since they're sister-ships, much of what we cover should apply to the Fantasy, too. If you wait for the 2011 edition there will be, of course, a whole lot more info, but you may miss the best prices on the 2012 itineraries."
I can't wait to hear the news. The rumor I have heard is Eastern Mediterranean cruises.
I just completed a DCL post-cruise survey and they were asking about eastern med cruises as well as some others. We're hopeful to see cruises that include Greece! But I'm assuming it'll be the Magic and not the Fantasy doing those cruises, since the Fantasy will be sailing out of Florida for a few years.

OK so someone on another forum found a site that let you see which cruises were scheduled to be in which ports and when. According to them (from http://portscedules.com) the Disney Fantasy will be in the Caribbean next summer well at least in the Caymen Islands. If you search for it on the Caymen Islands page it comes up as being there every other week. This would suggest that the Fantasy is taking over the Magic schedules with the likelihood being the Magic going back to Europe and possibly doing the Eastern Med cruises.
Thanks for sharing that! The Fantasy is scheduled to visit Grand Cayman starting March 30, 2012. It'll be visiting on alternate Mondays through December 24. The Magic has been on an alternate Tuesdays schedule.
The Magic's scheduled to visit Grand Cayman on April 3, 2012 (a week after the Fantasy's first visit). After that, the Magic takes a break from Grand Cayman until Sept. 25, 2012, when it resumes bi-weekly visits through December 18. Then, it returns six days later on December 24 (special holiday itinerary, no doubt - both the Magic and Fantasy will be there Christmas Eve!).
Now, let's move to Sint Maarten (Eastern Caribbean) The Fantasy's first visit there is Monday, March 26, 2012, The Magic will be there on Tuesday, March 27, 2010. After that, the Fantasy starts visiting on Tuesdays and the Magic doesn't visit again for the rest of the year.
A red flag pops up, because the Fantasy is scheduled to be in Grand Cayman four days after Sint Maarten (March 26 and 30). This is not possible on the traditional schedule, so something else is going on. Even if the Fantasy went directly from Sint Maarten back to Port Canaveral, there's not time to then get over to Grand Cayman on that schedule. So, assume it will not return to Port Canaveral before it heads to Grand Cayman. Some sort of grand Eastern/Western extended inaugural itinerary?
So... Where will the Magic be in fall 2012 when it's not visiting Grand Cayman? It'll be either a 7-night or 14-night itinerary, since it's back in Grand Cayman every 14 days. I'm still searching around to see if it pops up at any other ports (many don't report their schedules this far in advance). The same is true for summer 2012 - I haven't been able to find a port in Europe that shows it on its schedule (so far, none have had schedules going that far into the future), but I'm still looking.
Life gets more interesting between now and the 18th, when the TAs get their briefing!

Wow, quite a lot of detective work going on! I have this image, Dave, of you with a giant, wall-sized world map, and red pins with dates attached, tracking the ships' movements around the globe!
Looking forward to hearing the 2012 itineraries! Only a few more days to wait now!
Since seeing the info popping up, I've spent hours scouring every port authority site I could find. Here's what I saw, which adds some new info regarding Key West and 2013 info to what's posted above.
The Magic seems to continue regular East/West cruises in January 2012, after the holiday cruise ends on 1/7/12, with
Western Cruises 1/7/12 (though not currently showing Key West stop on 1/8/12), 1/21/12, 2/4/12, 2/18/12, 3/3/12, 3/17/12, 3/31/12
Eastern Cruises - 1/14/12, 1/28/12, 2/11/12, 2/25/12, 3/10/12
The Fantasy is showing with stops in St. Maarten on 3/26/12 and Cayman on 3/30/12 as noted above, and again in St. Maarten on 4/9/12. There is a Key West stop indicated on 4/15/12, but the ship is not identified. I assume it's the Magic, as the Fantasy is due in Cayman on 4/16/12 (next day). There is one last misc. Key West stop listed on 05/01/12, which I again assume is the Magic, since the Fantasy is in Cayman on 4/30/12 (day before.)
The Fantasy seems to start on regular East/West rotations the week including 4/16/12, since it starts alternating Cayman on Monday 4/16/12, and St. Maarten on Tuesday 4/24/12 continuing through 1/1/2013.
There are no Cayman stops for the Fantasy listed for 2013, though it does continue the St. Maarten stops on alternate weeks 1/1/13 - 4/23/13.
The Magic returns to Cayman on 9/25/12, and continues to stop there on alternate tuesdays through 12/18/12. The Magic and Fantasy are both in Cayman on 12/24/12. The Magic resumes its alternate Tuesday stops in Cayman on 1/15/13 and continues on through 4/23/13.
