As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I am just wondering what you have done to get rid of them?
My family was hit with a touch of the H1N1 in Dec. I got pretty sick and dispite my dr telling me I didn't need antibiotics, I was feeling TERRIBLE (I had pink eye too), and I begged him to give me some and since it was my birthday, he took pity and gave me some. Well, I learned my lesson the hard way. You don't take them unless you need them. That started 2 series of bladder infections and I finally got it cleared up in Jan, then got it again in July and got it cleared up, and now in Sept, I have yet another one. I don't know if it is cleared up so will take a sample in again tomorrow. About 11 yrs ago, I had to have my urethrea flushed out and I really don't know if I want to do that again but they all of a sudden cleared up and didn't get them again until this past yr. My grandmother had them all the time in the 60's so I do know it is inherited.
I used to get UTIs all the time that went right into bladder infections (usually, no symptoms of the UTI) that eventually became kidney infections. I seriously had them from 19 to 32. And ALWAYS while on vakay - to the point I would take antibiotics with me! I was hospitalized a few times aw well.
My sister actually got off easy with kidney stones.
Doc said I would "grow" out of it. And yes, I eventually did. I now take cranberry pills, stay away from sugary drinks and drink about a gallon of water a day.
Okay - this may to TMI, but I shadowed at a urologist's office a few months ago, and he had some interesting things to say.
First, when you need to go, do not hold it - at all!!
Then, when you get to the bathroom, keep your legs as are apart as possible (opens up the area, and lets the muscles relax better).
Once you're done, wait a minute or two, and try to "go" a little more. There's always a little more, and most people don't know this.
If they keep recurring, you may not be getting rid of them to begin with - you are just stunning the bacteria, and not killing it completely. One little bacteria that's left will make friends for itself - and they won't be as easy to kill as the first group of friends. We had to have our DD's doctor give her 4 months' worth of antibiotics before hers finally went away.
My poor sister gets them ALL the time. You are correct that it can be an inherited condition. My grandmother had it, and the dr. confirmed that my sis has the same thing. It has something to do with a lining of mucus (ew..yeah) that most people have on/in their bladder that keeps bacteria out. (Ok if anyone is a Dr. and reading this they are probably cracking up at my explanation terms, but this is how I understood it when my sis told me) Well, there is a condition in some people - a hereditary one - where their mucus lining is thinner and can get holes in it, allowing bacteria to get in and cause infections. My sister gets so many that she has a standing refill of antibiotics at the pharmacy for whenever she feels one coming on.
I hope you find something to help with yours!!!

I have had the same problem! My urologist told me to take vitamin c because the bacteria don't like the acidity and to drink lots of water. I have followed his advise and have not had an UTI for quite a while. (Hope I did not jinx myself!)
Not sure if you take baths, but if you do STOP. Baths lead to UTI's. My DD hasn't had one since she was 4, because she got them and they always turned into kidney infections, and then hospital stays.
Thanks everyone
I am allergic to cranberries, I have found out since trying to get rid of these. I have tried D-Maganose too and it doesn't help much, although I might go back to trying one pill a day once I get rid of this thing.
My dr told me to take Vitamin C too and I have been but I might have forgotten.
I am on Cephelax and I am hurting still. I love the meds...but it isn't working
I recently read that taking calcium might cause problems so I will quit for abit but still take my vitamin D. I am going to have to go off of alot of sugar (although i don't eat alot, I do get hooked on jellybeans ) And no more coffee or Coke for me of any kind. I feel as though I am trying to do everything and I can't get rid of it.
I don't take baths- a shower girl.
I will try emptying my bladder in a different way. I have been leaning over with my arms by the side of the toilet, but that didn't work.
Geeze, none for almost 10 yrs and now this. I am back to the dr to take in a sample today. I am allergic to sulpha drugs so I am limited. I am sooooooo frustrated!!!!!!!!!! (stomp feet) and kinda scared that I won't be able to get over this thing!!
Thankyou for your support and to know that I am not alone. I don't wish this on anyone but thankyou for your experience and insight. I'll let you know what happens......
