The Andy Can't Keep a Secret To Save His Life Memorial Day Disney Trip - Finally UPDATED 6/27 by Melissa and Andy! - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

The Andy Can't Keep a Secret To Save His Life Memorial Day Disney Trip - Finally UPDATED 6/27 by Melissa and Andy!
This trip was supposed to be a secret but Disney mailed a confirmation letter when I asked them not to and Melissa broke the law and opened mail that was not addressed to her! I’m trying to think of what her punishment should be, hmmmm. ANNNYWAY! So this is my first Pre-Trip report. I was gonna post it the night before the trip and watch as Melissa’s head exploded. I was gonna do the whole, “Well, I tried to get a room at the beach but everything was booked so instead were are going down to South Carolina to spend Memorial Day weekend with my parents!” And then as the either sad or pissed off look took over her face I was going to let her stumble upon this post, queue head exploding moment. Image Elaine pushing Bizarro Jerry across the room, “Get Out!” That was going to be me, but no. Maybe one day I will manage to keep just one secret, who knows. But that is ALL she knows at the moment, so here’s what’s up:
WHERE: All-Star Sports
WHEN: Memorial Day Weekend – Saturday, May 24 – Monday, May 26
WHO: Just Melissa and Andy!
WHY: Because I had to get Melissa back to Disney World for a relaxing time all by ourselves.
So here’s the plan…
Friday, May 23
-A PreTrip Memorial Day Cookout Celebration at Andy and Melissa’s house. Anyone in the vicinity is invited for a Wii bowling Championship/Beer drinking game. A side note; every time I Wii bowl I end up getting drunk really quick because every time I’m done my brain says, “It’s not your turn, you need to take a sip of your beer.” And then it says, “Hey, it’s almost your turn…take a quick sip of your beer!” So many frames and 3 beers later my 230 pro score has gone down to around a 195. This is how you should teach kids about how alcohol inhibits your senses, “See kid, I’m not a bowling pro anymore because I drank too much!”
Saturday, May 24
-Flight 308 from Charlotte to Orlando leaves at 8:25 AM and lands at 10:00 AM.
-Check in at The All-Star Sports…a first for us. Nice and inexpensive!
-I was thinking Epcot all day…but we will see.
-Dinner ADR: The San Angel Inn – Mexico Pavilion – 7:15 ADR
oWe’ve never eaten here before but I thought it would be a nice romantic getaway. A good place to relax on our travel day.
Sunday, May 25
-Animal Kingdom in the morning, Epcot in the evening, and MK for a late night EMH!!
-Lunch ADR: The Yak and Yeti – 11:30 – This is now a MUST for every trip!
-Dinner ADR: The Rose and Crown – 6:20 – This is tentative, if Melissa wants to keep it we will. But I do love this place!
Monday, May 26
-MGM in the morning.
-Lunch: Lunch with an Imagineer @ The Brown Derby 11:30
oMelissa has always wanted to do this so I thought it would be a great surprise but seeing as I can’t keep a secret I guess it’s not a surprise anymore!
-Flight 234 departs from Orlando at 7:59 PM and arrives in Charlotte at 9:37 PM
-11:00 PM sleep
-3:25 AM wake up to see what the cats are fighting about
-3:26 AM Sleep
So there you go…our plans. I’m sure they will change as they are now in the hands of the master planner…but I think I did a good job?!?!

Great Job Andy!! She must be floating on cloud 9 since I just read her TR and she mentioned how she would like to go back for Memorial Day weekend but couldn't find flights that were cheap enough.
Okay, so I was gonna wait till a few people posted before I made a response....so you wouldn't think I was sitting here on pins and needles waiting for him to post this pre TR that he said he'd do......but yeah...that's what I've been doing.. I am so excited!!!
HOLY CARP!! Lunch w/an Imagineer!?!?! Are ya kiddin' me?? Yes "SHUT UP" is right! If you were home from work right now I'd totally be smacking you in the chest. (Good comparsion up there with Elaine ) By the way LOVE the Wii bowling drunk explanation
I am sooooo soooo soooo soooo excited. Did I mention I was excited? I just want to be there....just to hang out and enjoy our happy place!
I'm not gonna hijack this TR....you started it....it's all yours

What a great surprise (or almost surprise) - well a surprise until Disney sent a confiramtion that Melissa happened to find and being that Disney was marked on the envelope had to find out what it was.....
Your plans sound great....I am sure Melissa would be happy with anything just to spend some time at her happy place...
What Andy failed to mention is that HE wanted to go back just as badly as I did.... About a month ago we had a conversation out of the blue that went like this:
Andy: Are you off Memorial Day?
Me: Yeah, are you?
Andy: I think so... (long pause)... we should go to Disney
Me: what?! Are you serious? (seriously considers it.....) We'd have to fly and that costs too much... we did just get back...
Andy: Yeah, you're right...
end of that conversation until I brought it up again... I figured hey, he started it
OK Melissa and Andy you guys are just to friggin cute for words! Andy you need to give my Hubby a lession on planning surprises! I dont think I ever got any except baby 1 & 3!
