As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

The kids screamed while watching Nickelodeon tonight-Nickelodeon is apparently pairing with Royal Caribbean to make Nickelodeon themed cruises.
I was half asleep and didn't catch all of it.....but will be checking out the Nick website.
As much as my kids (and I) love Disney, we also love Nickelodeon-Spongebob, Patrick, Blue, the Fairly Oddparents, etc.
I'm asking you if you'd consider going as I definitely are. Royal Caribbean is cheaper than Disney and once they add all the character meals, excursions & stuff.
Just seeing who in my PP family will ever want to cross over to the "dark side" with me & my kiddos!!

I think if I had kids who enjoyed those characters and it was an itinerary I'd like to go on then I would go. I don't see Nickelodeon or Universal Studios in general as a dark side. just different then Disney which gives a variety to everything.
I think this will be a great option for those who have kids who may not be into Disney or who are but also fans of Nick.
But since I don't have kids and I enjoy Disney then I probably wouldn't book a Nickelodeon Cruise but have heard good things about Royal Caribbean and would be willing to sail them any other time of the year if I felt like a cruise!

I would definitely consider a Royal Caribbean cruise but I would not consider a Nickelodeoon cruise. Royal Caribbean has some great ships! But we do not watch Nickelodeon. (We do watch Noggin and a little Nick Jr but not much...)
Don't watch Nick. Last time was a couple of years ago when the Grands stayed with us during the summer and we watched Fairly Odd Parents (which was not bad!) I might consider a Nick cruise, if the price were right and the destination one I wanted.

It only appears to be one specific sailing...but who knows...if it's successful, they could do this on more sail dates!
Looks cute...I'm not too familiar with the Nick characters anymore, but for fans I imagine it will be a lot of fun. Royal Caribbean is a great cruiseline!
The RCCL Nick cruise prices are MUCH higher than you'd pay for a regular RCCL cruise. So, you'd have to be REALLY into going just for the Nick characters, events, etc. Otherwise, save your money to go on a regular RCCL cruise, where I hear the regular kids' Adventure Ocean activities/care is great.
We took a Royal Caribbean cruise in 1999. It was really nice, but it was on one of the smaller ships (the one from the dry dock show). The food was really great - better than DCL in MHO. But a draw back for me was that to get to their island, Coco Cay, you have to tender in, not just pull into the dock and get off the boat. Small thing, but if the seas are rough that day, it can really make a difference.
I checked the itinerary and I am not a Western Carib fan! I also am not a true fan of RCL although many are. Having been on a DCL...I think in comparison to other lines you get alot more for your money on the other lines....RCL, Princess, Holland America, etc, It is all in what you want. As far as a Nickolodeon cruise...I guess I would do it for the kids but we aren't great fans of most of the shows. We watch only Noggin and nick jr here for the most part. I think I would rather pick a great ship with a great itinerary that had alot to offer the kids and adults alike.
With 8 and 11 year-old boys, we have Nick on alot.... not sure if I'd be interested in a Nick cruise, but we are going to stay at the Nick Hotel for a few nights on our upcoming trip to WDW.....
