As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

UGH!!! I live just 30 minutes south of Atlanta. Yesterday, Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta had the Summer Rehab Games in downtown Atlanta for all the patients in their rehab facilities all around Atlanta. We had a great time! We have annual passes to the Children's museum and the Georgia Aquarium, so I thought since we were already in the area, I would take the kids to the museum and then the aquarium before going home. I parked in the aquarium's parking deck, and began to walk the 2 blocks to the museum. DD was having a diva moment, so I picked her up and was playing around with her to get her out of that attitude when it happened. There was a part of the sidewalk missing (I'm guessing to repair something), then all of a sudden I was going down and landed on dd. She hit her head HARD on the sidewalk, I twisted my right ankle and took off alot of skin on my right foot, with some abrasions on my left knee to my ankle. You would think someone would stop to see if we were ok. NO!!!! Two moms with kids walked right past me, two police cruisers drove past me, not to mention countless cars without stopping to help. I called 911 and gave them the exact location and nobody from there knew where I was. Justin was having an autistic meltdown because he saw blood coming from my foot and leg, Madison was crying. Finally two businessmen saw us from across the street and ran over to help, then the ambulance pulled up. I was so scared for Justin and Madison, I needed help. I ended up with a severe sprained ankle (it may still be broken), and Madison has a mild concussion. I was so upset that nobody stopped to helped me. Where is the Southern Hospitality in this city? If this happened in Fayetteville, people would stop to help.
Anyway, I just needed to vent. Thanks for reading.
The moms that passed by should be ashamed of themselves for not stopping. Having two kids has made me more aware of the problems I see other parents facing and I try to open doors, etc. Thank goodness you did experience a little kindness from those businessmen, albiet a little late. Hope all your injuries are healing well!

I understand. I can't say anything about Southern hospitality, but I can tell you that here in the north or at least in the Indy area, you would have had TONS of people stopping to help.
I hope that you and the kids all recover without any serious problems.

I am so very sorry to hear of your accident. We have a similar problem in the Memphis area. The outlying cities in the county are pretty good in general with people helping out one another but in Memphis itself - forget it!

this is one of the reasons why i LOVE small town life!!!!! here you would have been over run with help....people helping you...madison...and trying to help calm Justin. i dont like large cities because no one knows anyone....and no one feels any obligation to help out. if you would have been in your small town...they would have FLOCKED to your rescue
i hope you and the kiddos are doing much better....and im glad a few kind folks stopped to help they will have a soft seat in heaven when they get there for helping
I ended up going to the orthopedic doctor yesterday. My ankle is broken and my foot is severely sprained. The doctor put a air boot on. I tried to work 4 hours last night. Found out, I can't. All my patients were trying to care for me, instead of me caring for them. I am suppose to work this weekend, so I am calling out. If I can't work for 4 hours, how am I suppose to do a 12 hour shift?
Madison is doing better, she is back to her DIVA self. Now that I have the boot on, I can move around better at home. I seriously want to burn those crutches. lol.
