As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Yesterday I was very productive as I had to get up early anyways to take DBF somewhere. After dropping him off, I called up my DM and then we headed to the Farmer's Market. I found a lot of great stuff for cheap there! Then after I dropped her back off at home, I stopped off at a couple of garage and estate sales in the area. My big purchases were a stainless steel mixing bowl for .25 and a broom for the garage which was also .25. Once I got home I threw some laundry in the washing machine and started cleaning. I took a break around noon to have lunch with a friend. Then it was back to cleaning until I had to pick DBF up again in the late afternoon. After we got home, we changed and then went back out for dinner at Outback Steakhouse. After dinner we came home again and watched "Cinderella Man" on DVD.
Today has not been that productive! We were going to go to a local art fair, but it was raining when we got up. So instead I finished my book, had breakfast, and then went back to bed for a three hour nap! It has finally quit raining, so I think we might attempt a bike ride in a little bit. Other than that, I'll probably just plop down on the couch and start reading the Harry Potter books again so that I'm all caught up for the newest book and the movie coming out this summer.
I took a 4 day weekend.. Fri-- went to the pool and read, Sat- went to the pool and read- today, sat in the backyard and read. I am having a beer now ( summer, time off from work and a beer all go together so well). I did do some cooking and some laundry etc too.

Yesterday I did some housework, walked to the grocery store to pick up a few items for dinner, and scraped and shoveled 2 wheelbarrows full of sod from my back yard. I quit when I got a big blister. We're putting in a new (bigger ) patio and there's a lot of lawn that needs to be removed. By hand. Let me tell you I slept well last night!
Today I was going to try to remove another wheelbarrow full of sod, but instead I decided to ride my bike 15 km with DD. Her & DS's school is participating in the Provincial Dragon Boat races (20 person teams paddling their hearts out for a charity) and both my kids were on the team. So we spent an hour riding there, had a picnic and watched a few races, and a little over an hour riding home (into the wind ) Right now I'm drinking water and trying to recuperate.
Thursday, we drove to Buffalo and set up shop for the Creating Keepsakes Convention. We did that Friday and Saturday (longest days ever...it was so SLOW!) and drove home last night (got in a little after 10). Today, I slept until noon and have been spending the afternoon recovering and catching up on things. Tomorrow is back to the grind and I'm dreading it for some reason.

Yesterday we drove to Virginia Beach from Richmond, but by the time we arrived it had clouded over. We went down on the beach anyway, which was pretty crowded. Our teenage girls went in the ocean for about 5 minutes before they decided it was way too cold. When the wind blew our umbrella over we decided it was time to go. We then went to the Pier Cafe and had peel and eat shrimp with margaritas (sooo good!!). After a walk on the beach we headed home.
Today we slept in and then went to brunch at Chili’s. Not a real productive weekend. We were supposed to work on the lawn and get my son’s car ready to donate. I guess I know what we’ll be doing next weekend.
I've been very lazy. I spent the week cleaning so we could play this weekend. We went to pick up some cable for a game boy. Had to be had NOW. And went to the commissary for milk. Just milk. Ending up spending 45.00. Geez I need to leave these people home! The rest of the time I have spent diligently planning for our trip which includes visiting the boards for tips. Well thats my story and I'm sticking to it.
Yesterday DH power-washed the decks and I planted the gardens. I cleaned the hous and, did laundry. Then my reward was a loooong nap! We barbecued a London Broil for dinner.
Today, we went to church and then breakfast, and then made the mistake of going to Lowe's for a bag of cement. Never trust a man in Lowe's with just a bag of cement. We ended up with new solar lights, new outdoor fixtures, new hummingbird feeders, 20 lbs of bird seed and a new bird feeder. Oh, yea, and the cement. So DH put in the new solar lights and I put up the new feeders. Now, he is napping, I am on the 'puter and all is right with the world.
We had no plans this weekend...it was wonderful!!! Woke up early Saturday, did all the laundry, cleaned the bathrooms, and ate breakfast by 9:00! Lazed around, and went to the complex pool in the afternoon after nappy time! Today, we had planned on going to the pool again, but it was only 75 (imagine that.....ONLY 75!) And it looked like rain. So we've been watching Disney Videos all day....Jungle book right now.....my favorite part "I wanna be like you-o-o- I wanna walk like you , talk like you too! You see it's true-o-o....someone like me-e-e can learn to be like someone like you!"
Yesterday I did the laundry and cleaned the pool. My DM came over and we went to 4:00 mass. After dinner, 2 of my friends and I drove out to watch DD's boyfriend's band play. Today I started weeding the garden but it started raining so I spent the rest of the day here.

Friday morning my DS7 had an adenoidectomy so that day was spent playing nurse to him. Saturday we went to Sears to pick-up a dishwasher we had ordered earlier in the week. Also took the opportunity to go by the Disney store to pick up gift cards for DS's for our trip in 2 weeks. I also stopped at Bath & Body Works and got a great deal on body stuff (buy one, get one free)- this trips' scent will be Mango (mmmmm, yummy!) We came home, installed the dishwasher, took the old one to the dump, did some laundry, some housework, etc... Sunday morning we awoke to the remnants of the Tropical Storm and it's rained almost all day. I made a quick trip to the grocery store, did some laundry, then we watched Forest Gump just after lunch. Now we're watching the Little Mermaid.
DD's birthday party was this weekend. I had her party a week later than usual and it was so stinkin' hot here yesterday. Great day for the kids to be in the pool though.
DH drank way too much though. And I wish I would've drank more.
Location: Cypress....Deep in Southern Illinois, close enough to see the Kentucky blue grass

Yesterday I went on an all day motorcycle run. Then today I got ****ed. I have decided I have the laziest husband and son in the universe. Then cleaned house, mowed the yard and have cooked two meals and did laundry.
Our weekend just began. (Walt has 3 days off beginning today.) Today was a big old shopping spree. Old Navy first: Everybody needed something. 3 pairs of shorts for Walt, 3 pairs for DJ, 2 pairs of jeans for DJ, 4 t-shirts for DJ, a new hat for DJ, and Old Navy was having a close-out on plus size women's clothes because they're not carrying them in-store anymore so I got a couple of new tops and a little yellow and white sundress. But the 40% off was really nice on the closeout stuff!!!
On to Avenue: I found a pair of red peep toe sling-back pumps in my size that Avenue.com sold out of 2 months ago! And they were on SALE!!! Also picked up some slimming shapewear stuff while I was there.
Then onto the pharmacy: All about me - mani and pedi tool kits, nail file, buffer, square cotton cosmetic pads, and a can of Neutrogena Sunless Tanner.
Tomorrow, my mom is coming over to pick me up. She's going to tailor some shorts for me that I bought for this summer.
Tuesday, my car goes in the shop to fix a leak and for a tune-up because we're driving down the shore two weeks from today.
