As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I watched lots and lots of movies - ones I checked out from the library plus 2 of my Nexflix DVDs....only have 3 left (I've watched 7 DVDs since Friday night) - the ones that are remaining - Amistad, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Libertine.
SO far I have watched - Scoop, The Devil Wears Prada, Iris, Shall We Dance, Little Women and Garden State. Additionally I have graded all my student's work and tests and got it all posted - as well as cleaned most of the house.
Wow, you did have a productive weekend!!!!! I LOVE Eternal Sunshine--- I hope you enjoy it!!
I searched yesterday afternoon for the 9 year old girl who lives next door who was missing for three hours from her backyard (along with every police car in our township, and pretty much every resident of Havertown). She turned up finally with an older cousin (they were at the mall) after a miscommunication (a very emotional day for many of us around here, as some of us were worried after the first hour that we weren't going to find her-- I had some pretty scary images in my head). I still start crying thinking about it (she was 22 months old when we moved here-- so it was really really scary, and she plays in that yard every day, and has never ever left to wander off on her own--- I'll never forget her mother's face as she was calling the police). Joe took me and the boys out to dinner afterward since we never went grocery shopping (the boys and I searched on foot for the first hour after her dad came to our house, white as a ghost after the first 15 minutes-- after an hour, Joe came home from work, picked us up, and we searched in the car for the rest of the time)--Once she returned--- we all cried for a while, and then we went to Ruby's and then some fun shopping and closed King of Prussia Mall. The boys got some cool toys at the Discovery Channel Store since I felt like spoiling them a little. Boy do I love my neighborhood, we had people we didn't even know driving around looking for this girl--- people were stopping me as the boys and I walked to see if we were looking for her (the word got out real fast) to get her name and description, so they could help search--- it was amazing. Even the mailman joined in on the search-- he kept telling me what streets he was on, and I would search on the others. I'm never moving out of this neighborhood.
Today-- hung on the internet while the kids played with their new toys and Joe shopvac'd our flooded basement. We're still recovering from yesterday.

Let's see.....Friday night I went to Mohegan Sun with DS to see Last Comic Standing Comics (Chris Porter, Ty Barnett and Josh Blue)......Saturday I watched a sporting event in the afternoon (sorry, I'm not allowed to extrapolate on that one) and one of DS' friends spent the night.......Sunday we went back to Mohegan Sun (in torrential downpours) so DH could see the Last Comic Standing Comics too. It was a fun weekend!! I'll probably post something about the comics tomorrow.

We spent most of the weekend outside, creating a couple of new flowerbeds in the garden. We also put the curtains up in the study, shredded some more documents and did some clearing up in the house, so I guess you could say it was a productive weekend!
Saturday, I chilled on and off watching That 70s Show Season 4, helped Andy with some laundry. Sunday, pretty much chilled out as I was in a lot of pain so spent a lot of time lying down, then did some eBay stuff, holiday planning and then last night Andy and I watched Walt Disney World Behind the Scenes (Travel Channel special I'd downloaded) and cried (it showed the Laughter Floor and more new stuff!) and we then watched A Day at Epcot Center 1991.
Saturday I spent doing errands in the morning, in the afternoon I taught DS to make my world-famous spag sauce, watched some shows we had on the Tivo, the rain started early so stuck close to the house. Sunday was wicked! Rain was wild, so I spent the day on Passporter's and got caught up on ALL of the trip reports!
Saturday I took DD to her softball clinic (3 hours). Then I went up to Boston for a bachelorette party (and stayed up way past my normal bedtime)! Sunday I drove home in the torrential rain, and then took a nap in the afternoon (curled up in a blanket).
Friday night- loafed about
Sat- WW in the am, then some errands, then out to lunch and the mall and some shopping in the 'city'
Sun- cleaned, did some laundry, made dinner for my son, then he and I went to Wegmans-- thats another post all by it self!

Our schedule is a little different. We're in the middle of our weekend now. I'm on the disabled list, so I get to spend my weekend with my feet up while DH struggles to keep up with dishes, meals, and laundry. He is not my biggest fan right now. Had to make a run for bloodwork and meds today. Came home and plopped my butt back in the recliner with the laptop.
