Forums Closed

As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Where do your pets like to lay??
Rocky likes to be close to me when I am working on things. he often lays on the floor near the base of my computer chair. Well - right now, he is laying on my desk, and I am holding the laptop on my legs while they are propped up on my desk....
So - do your pets have any "interesting" places they like to rest.

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
My cat either wants to lay on my lap while I'm on my laptop or sometime he'll sleep under the quilt on my bed.

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
My older dog, Shadow loves sleeping at the screen/sliding door, so he can "check out" everything. (Plus it's cooler there)
The "Little One" the puppy, loves sleeping on the floor at the base of my computer chair, whenever I'm on the computer. The weirdest place? In the laundry basket...don't ask me why, I do not know!

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
Every post I make from home, Geoffie is on my lap. The rest of them change it around a bit, but currently Stepanie likes to lay on the bureau in the vestibule so she can look out the front window, Bessy likes to lay near the little kitty door between the computer area and the bedroom, and Neil likes the orange chair, where he feels like a king! Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
Presley is all about the window. If it is open, he is in it. As a matter of fact, I caught him the other day laying on top of Chip b/c he was in the window. He just layed on him until Chip got sick of it and left. Smart cat Otherwise, they will lay anywhere on the floor, couch or beds. Chip also likes Kylor's dresser in his closet.
I found that picture of Presley laying on poor Chip:

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
Mickey usually lays on either the couch, loveseat, my bed or Emilie's bed, although lately he has taken to just passing out in the middle of my bedroom floor! Sometimes he will go lay at the slider door and bird/bug watch until he falls asleep. He is a brat and doesn't really like to be cuddled. When HE wants to be petted, he will tell you, otherwise, he's a diva.
Minnie likes to lay in my closet, under Emilie's bed, on Mike's lap (never mine it seems) and sometimes on the couch . . . but mostly she has taken to stealing the computer chair the millisecond someone gets up from sitting there!

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
If I am on the computer, Coconut lays by my feet and Fred lays on top of the couch. If I am watching TV or reading, Coconut lays right beside me and Fred lays on top of the couch. If I am working around the house, Coconut lays on the rug by the front door, looking outside and Fred lays (you got it! ) on top the couch.

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
Max loves to lay on the table right beside me when I am on the computer. He also loves to lay in anyone's lap...as long as they are sitting in the proper recliner and have his favorite blanket.

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
Blue, the over 80 lb Black Lab, sleeps all day on my bed. And he's shedding something horrible right now.
Trixie, the 12 lb Cairn Terrorist, is confined to the kitchen, where she sleeps/stand guard at the French doors, where she will bark incessantly at the birds/squirrels/lizards/bunnies/hummingbirds or what ever wildlife DARES enter our backyard. If she can escape upstairs, she freakishly hides/sleeps under Pat's side of the bed. She can't be on my side of the bed, my carefully packed and preserved wedding gown in there, so she is forced to be on Pat's side. She will growl and snap if you try to remove her without the dog treats we use to lure her out. Or tell her there are bunnies at the back door!!

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
My dogs follow me around all day and lay in whatever room I am in.
My cats love to lay on the tray I have in the center of our coffee table...I bought them a nice cozy bed but it's never been used, they'd rather use the hard wooden tray. Go figure.

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
Chewy lays where ever we are... Usually he's on top of the couch on the cushion above where I sit. His big self pushes the cushion down so now the first cushion on the top of the couch is flatter than the other two...
At night all three of the kitties have taken to sleeping on my side of the bed so I'm left with like a 5 inch wide space to lay in....But I 'em!

Hannah, our 3 year old Black Lab, has to be right where everyone walks not good when all the lights are out
Baxter, our 5 year Tabby, any where he feels like it If you have a cat you will know that the cat does not live with you, you live with the cat, he is our little prince

Re: Where do your pets like to lay??
one of the cats, Rahja, likes to lay on the top of the door. Yep, the edge of the actual door!
Other than that, pretty normal spots, dogs like my bedroom floor, and the cats go about anywhere - Tigger esp. likes DH's heated chair!
