As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So, I am 11 days from leaving, and I have SO MUCH to do, I can't stand it. I was hoping to get so much more done this past weekend than I did. I never even started the park-by-park touring plans, and you all know how long those take. I guess this weekend is going to be very packed. I also have my list of "other" non-trip things to do, which still has about 5 things on it.
The PANIC is setting in. Guess maybe that's a good thing so that it will go fast and not drag???
Thanks for letting me vent. I know that somehow, it will all get done. Part of the anxiety is that this trip is for a total of 12, and that is a big responsibility. Phew!
Good luck!!!! but look at it this way the time will go fast, and in 11 days you will be at the World, and most of us we still be stuck in the snow and cold. Also you have to look at it this way if you miss a day or two of park plans whats the worst thoes days will be.(GREAT !!!!!)you are at Disney,Have a great trip, and may the sun gods shine upon you and your family,
If you are starting to panic now, you better make up a last minute check list of all the things to do right before you lock your door (that is if you haven't already done this ). 11 days will pass quickly and you will then be on your way to making more MAGICAL Memories.
Don't worry about making in depth park touring plans. Having just a general idea of what parks you plan on entering each day (this can be easily changed too ) Should you want or plan on dinning in any hard to get into restaurants, I would suggest making some PS prior to your departure. This past trip we only had two PS and they were for Boma & Chef Mickey's (both places were packed) The rest of our restaurant choices we were able to basically walk right in with out any wait.
Don't stress!!!
Now, TAKE A DEEP BREATH.... ..... ..... and another ..... ..... .....
I was wondering why a veteran would be panicking about touring plans. It'll end up being a WONDERFUL trip, and mid-February, there will be plenty of time to do everything everyone wants to. Take care, have a great trip, (and don't go into too much detail in those itineraries, I can barely get ONE person to follow any tours I make for 'em ).
Relax. The best thing you can do to have an awesome trip is relax. Have a general plan about where you want to go and what you want to see. Plan on things coming up, weather, long lines etc. Then plan accordingly. You'll be in WDW so have a great time! How could you not.
I start to feel panicky as my trip is coming closer also. We leave in 17 days!!!!!
I will just be happy to be there.....and out of this cold weather.
We leave a week from today and I have a huge list of things to do between now and then. I decided that I wouldn't overplan things for this trip since we are taking Madeline and I don't know how she'll do. I'm sure she'll be fine but I just wanted to leave things flexible.
DH on the other hand wants to know what parks we're doing on what days, etc. And he's usually the one who plays it by ear! On our honeymoon he complained that I had planned too much!

<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">I couldn't agree with that more. Although we didn't go with them, 17 members of DH's family went to WDW in November 2000 and from what I understand, if anyone had suggested an itinery to them, they'd have probably argued over it for half an hour each morning. I think it's probably just best to go with the flow with that many people and let everyone do what they want to!
Have a magical time and before you know it, you'll be there!
I've never been a big planner but then again I've never gone with 12 people either. Take a deep breath and tackle what seems the most urgent. I'm a firm believer that as long as you have your essentials and a credit card you can take every thing else as it comes. With so much to do, the time will fly and you'll be there before you know it.
Have a wonderful and magical trip.
Thank you all so much for your calm reassurance! Yes, I know I need to take a major chill pill, and realize that what doesn't get done, doesn't, and that's not the end of the world. (No pun intended, for sure.)
As far as the touring plans, it is more of a basic idea of best times to split up, etc. based on the varied ages of the group. If I can get that organized, then I think that most of us will be able to do more of what we want and not worry about slighting anyone. DH and DD don't want to hang around with the little ones all day on kiddie rides, if you know what I mean. But we can all do shows, etc., so I thought if we could plan around that, it would be neat. We have two sets of walkie talkies, so communication is covered.
It will be so much fun to be there with the family, for sure. Many of these people have either never been, or not been in ages. My folks, for example, have never seen MGM or AK. My BIL has never been. He's very excited, and knowing his personality, he'll be looking to me for all the answers and advice, so basically I want to be prepared. Now, I know that he won't take a fit if I don't know something.
Oh, and for all of my work in the preparations, I have required that they all provide me with any sort of Disney ice cream (Mickey Bars, Dole Whips, etc.) on demand! Not a bad deal, huh?
Thanks, again. You all are the best!!!

<font size="2" face="Comic Sans MS, Arial">You are one smart cookie. Hope you have a fabulous time.
If there is anywhere you want a big family meal I'd definitely call to make PS arrangements beforehand.
I'm stuggling not to push the panic button myself... we leave in 11 days. I like to try to come home to a clean house...not always the easiest. So the stress seems to be self-induced for sure. Let's breathe together now....
