As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ryan loved Epcot at 19 months and 29 months! Journey Into Imagination with Figment was his favorite (espcially the play area at the end of the ride) but he also loved the Character Connection area, watching the fountains, the rides in Mexico and Norway (but not the Trolls!), Spaceship earth and The Seas with Nemo and Friends. We only did one of the Kidcot stops in Canada but there is so much to look at and explore in Epcot that it turned into our second favorite park with Ryan. It's far more hands on than any other park which is great with toddlers who want to touch everything!
We did the Kidcots with DD when she was 2. Mostly she colored, but she thought playing with the mask was fun. She also liked passing over her passport for the stamps, but I opened it to the right page.
We pretty much skipped the future world half of Epcot (Nemo wasn't open -- this was '02) but DD loved World Showcase. There's a lot there to interest kids -- just not the same way we expect to like it ourselves. She liked the mime in France, the statues in Italy and the train in Germany. And she really wanted to get out of the stroller and explore Morrocco. When we pushed her stroller toward China she shouted "Sagwa city!" so they get more out of it than you think.
DS wasn't into Kidcot when he was 2. But he has a language barrier and it makes him very shy around other kids, so his aversion may have been related to that. However... there are so many other things to do with kids at Epcot that we didn't need the Kidcot stations to keep him occupied! The fountains around Epcot were one of DS's favorite things to do. And we probably could have spent the entire day at The Living Seas for all he was concerned!
One note for you - the baby station at EPCOT has a quiet and air conditioned baby station where you can take him to recharge. It was the only park with a decent sized baby station with a great playroom, and we were grateful to have the opportunity to utilize it... especially on those blazing hot days after wandering around in the sun!

Glad you asked that question because I am trying to think of what is in World Showcase that would be great for my younger two, and they will be 3 and 5 the next time we go!
DS was 4 our first trip, but he LOVED the fountains! He could have sat and watched them for hours. The jumping water one was a big hit, as was the fountain synchronized to music.
Don't forget there are performers periodically throughout WS also, such as music groups and acrobats, and character meet and greets (we met Pinocchio in Germany!).

Looking forward to another Christmas with The Mouse!!
Check the Times Guide for character meet and greets along the way around the world. Some of the performers will also capture the little ones attention. Our girls loved to bang ghe drums in Japan and my son loved Illuminations. There's a lot of stuff that can be done with little ones at Innoventions. The fire in the house display was fun, making their own robots, making paper, Nemo, Honey I shrunk the audience, the Visa meet and greet, the water fountain show, the Coke test-tasting (if you want to risk a sugar rush), sending emails to friends, the butterfly garden, the maze in the UK, etc.
We took our DD at two and she LOVED the kidcot stops in WS. She still has the mask(she is 5 now). She caught on to the whole idea pretty quickly and was searching for the "stops" in each country by the 3rd or 4th one.
Our son will be 14 in December...He started his Disney trips at 15 months, and has always loved Epcot. In fact, it's his favorite park. When he was smaller....alot He loved the World Showcase Passport, and the Kidcot stations in WS. I think people tend to think Epcot isn't for the smaller guys, but I think that you can find alot that they will enjoy there. Have fun.
The many fountains in EPCOT kept Shelby entertained in May when she was 18 mo. We have a great shot of her when we got too close and she got sprayed. The courtyards in the countries, particularly England, allowed for a great spot for her to scamper around, and she LOVED the Living Seas. The one place that was NOT great for her was in the Land, where we did Soarin.' My husband took her strolling around while i did the ride with my other older two. With the escalator and stairs, it made it pretty impossible for us to stroll her around or let her out.

Mine, too. I think they will love it for so many reasons that I certainly wouldn't have been able to predict. I'm looking forward to their reactions to the street performers. We didn't do much of WS in EPCOT last September, so I'm looking forward to spending quite a bit of time there this December. I think 5 and 3 are really good ages for KIDCOT, and my 5 yr old is going to LOVE getting his Passport stamped.
So glad you asked this! DH and I have always enjoyed Epcot as our favorite park. Our upcoming trip, though, will be our first with our DD who just turned two, so we've been wondering if we'll have to switch to mainly doing the Magic Kingdom and trying to squeeze in just our favorites in Epcot. After seeing these posts, though, I feel good about being able to enjoy my favorite park and look forward to exploring it with DD and seeing what catches her interest! Thanks again everyone!

Besides making the masks and passport stamps, don't forget about all of the fun little boat rides. The Land , Mexico, Norway, and I think at least one more. My 5 year old has loved them since he was 11months old. My 14year old loves them too.
There is also the wonderful toy stores in United Kingdom.
Besides the obvious MK, Epcot is their next favorite park.
No worries, little ones will have fun there too!
