As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

We are headed out for our annual Girl's Trip! Plane leaves at 4pm! I am so excited! Here is a quick rundown-
Cast O' Characters:
Me(Rosanna), Laura, Shannon, Becca, Erin. Shannon is a first timer this year, and for the first time with "big girl" status, my DD and Laura's DD will be joining us. Welcome, college girls!
Here's the plan. We are flying out of DC, the girls are flying out of Richmond and we will meet at the airport around 6 pm. DME to AKL where we have a 2 bdrm villa at Jambo. Quick drop of carryons with bell services and off to MK. Grab dinner (I'm sensing a corndog in my future!). FP+ for BTMR, SM, and 7DMT ( starting at 9pm...why am I up so early...going to need diet coke for sure!). Back to room, sleep!
Saturday, Epcot. Leisurely day wandering. FP+ for TT, SE, and a character meet. Definitely having schoolbread and lunch somewhere delicious. My BFF is joining us with another friend from Jacksonville for our evening activity, which will be a monorail crawl! Starting with cocktails and apps at the Contemporary, dinner and drinks at Kona Cafe, and finally, dessert and beverages at the Grand Flo. We had t-shirts made for the occasion! Can't wait!!
Sunday will be a sleep in day(ahem), followed by DHS. FP+ for TSMM, ToT, and ST. Dinner tonight is Tratorria al Forno, followed by Boardwalk exploration. I hear there is karaoke! And a dancehall! Sounds like a party!!!
Monday is MK. Lunch with the Beast, firework dessert party, all our favorite FP+ (our favorite mountains).
Tuesday is AK day as well as departure day. Brunch at 11:15 at the buffet that I cannot for the life of me remember the name of at this moment but it is in Africa...lol. FP+ for KS, EE( because KRR is closed), and Dinosaur
Back to AKL, catch tragical express, fly hope exhausted but full of magical memories...YAY!

Oh my goodness, did we ever have an amazing time! It was so awesome! Let me start with the flight there. It was great. We flew Southwest out of Reagan. We parked at the local Sheraton and took the shuttle to the airport. We had a short, smooth flight to Orlando where we met up with our college girls and boarded the DME. When we arrived at the AKL, we went directly to our 2 room villa on the 5th floor of Jambo house. After a quick call to get our Garden Grocer order, and to ooh and ahh over the beautiful rooms, we went to the bus stop and caught a bus to MK. Unfortunately, we missed our SM FP+, but we were just in time for our 7DMT. So pretty at night. We were all pretty hungry so we went to Casey's Corner for the world's best corn dog nuggets. They were delicious. However, they have changed their fries to super skinny fries, which apparently means super cold fries. I still ate them, because they were perfectly salted, but thicker fries stay warm longer We rode PotC and then our next FP+ was for BTMR (which I also love at night). After that we headed over to HM, which was a walk on. As we were leaving, we tried to go to Rapunzel's bathroom, but a CM was directing us to leave the park. I was surprised because I thought it was open umtil 12, but I was mistaken, Unfortunatley, as we were heading to the front, tragedy struck and I dropped my phone. Face down on the cobblestones. Shattered my screen! Bummer!! Anyway, back to the bus stop and AKL for a much needed good night's sleep
