As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Prime Time Cafe
I have always wanted to eat at Prime Time. Is it as bad as the Unofficial Guide says it is?
What about a PS just for dessert maybe?

We love the Prime Time Cafe at the Disney-MGM Studios! We eat lunch there every year! We love the food and the ambiance and the funny service!
Be sure to stop into Dad's and have a drink before supper!

Re: Prime Time Cafe
Fine dining it ain't - but fun and tasty, you bet! We loved the kitsch here, and we thought the prices were resonable for what you get. Portions were huge, and everything was yummy.

Re: Prime Time Cafe
We ranked it as OK when we went there. It's fun to go once, but I wouldn't say the portions were big. DH was still starving after his main course!

Re: Prime Time Cafe
We had a great time this past Nov. We had enough to eat. We'd go there again.

Re: Prime Time Cafe
We tried it during our September trip. It was a fun place to eat, but we all found the food pretty lousy.

Re: Prime Time Cafe
We went for dessert when we went a couple of years ago. We went late, like 8:00 p.m. The restaurnat was pretty empty. Our server was playing around with us, in the typical fashion you read about, until he found out we were only ordering desserts. Then his mood changed. I was disappointed by that. It wasn't like we were taking his time away from other potential guests who would order more. Now, I realize this may not happen with another server, but just wanted to mention it. We really enjoyed our desserts and were glad we went to see what the restaurant looked like though.

Re: Prime Time Cafe
Neat theme and being served by "Mom" make this a fun place to eat. Our "Mom" server really (nicely) nagged my DD to finish her food before she was allowed dessert!
The food was good - nothing fancy but filling and the portion sizes were average.
We happened to just be walking by at lunch time and thought we'd give it a try (no PS - only waited about 10 minutes).
Hope you enjoy it!

Re: Prime Time Cafe
We always eat at Prime TIme for one meal. They serve comfort food. Frid Chicken, pot pies, pot roast, meal loaf, mac and cheese. And desserts!!!We have never finished Smores---the portions are huge. Great milk shakes, too!
If you want to have fun, be sure to ask for a playful server. Some do not 'play' as well as others!!
We always make PS but have found that you could just walk up and be seated n a few minutes!

Re: Prime Time Cafe
We've had different experiences each trip. Our first trip on our honeymoon was hilarious! Our second trip was great too! We had just finished the Inside Animation tour. My DH had gotten up to go wash his hands (without permission, mind you) and he got in so much trouble!! While he was gone three guys, I believe they were distant cousins, sat with me and kept me entertained (whether I liked it or not ). We got quized about whether we had washed our hands or not (they'll ask you what color the soap is) and they kept an eye on DH to make sure he kept his elbows off the table! When DH cleaned his plate he got a sticker that said "Clean Plate Club" and they really made a big deal out of it! The last two trips no one really did anything. Our servers started out in character, but it tapered off. Our last trip our server was horrible. She was friendly, but forgot everything. She couldn't remember to bring our drinks, ordered the wrong food for DH, and we ended up being there for two hours because she was so slow.
If you want to try it out go for it! Everyone has different experiences! The s'mores are delicious and plenty to share! For non-beef eating people there are only a few choices: chicken pot pies, fish, and fried chicken. I'd check out www.wdwig.com for an menu so you can decide if you'd like the food first.

Re: Prime Time Cafe
This is a place that we never miss on our trips. We have never had a bad meal there in many trips and the food is good home cooking type of food like someone else mentioned. That is probably why my DH likes it so much. We never leave hungry and I am a big eater. The smores are great for desert.

Re: Prime Time Cafe
We enjoyed eating there on our trip. Our server stayed in character- a little to much for DH since he did not finish what was on his plate. DH was treated to everyone doing a open wide airplane bite and could have died. It did however make a vacation memory for both of us and the ENTIRE resturant!

Re: Prime Time Cafe
We love the Prime Time Cafe! We've been a couple of times and have always enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great and the interaction with the waiters and waitresses is good fun. We are definitely making sure we go back during our next trip.

Re: Prime Time Cafe
DH and I loved it! He had to wear a bib because he forgot to put his napkin on his lap, we got to do the airplane "last-bite" bit for people, were entertained by a rather built guy singing, "The itsy-bitsy spider" and left quite full. For Josh, that's saying a lot. We both had the pot roast and cleaned our plates! You definitely have to be a good sport and have a sense of humor about yourself to enjoy it!
