My Disney Experience (MDE)....Where did it all go?!?!?! - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

My Disney Experience (MDE)....Where did it all go?!?!?!
All of a sudden, my AP is gone! (My husband's is still there and ALL of our ADR's our gone-except for the one I made this morning for CG!) I'm talking like about 30 ADR's! OMG.....
I think there was an update to the site over the weekend...has this happened to anyone else?!?!!
Ok, so I guess what happened (because I've just spent like an hour on the phone with tech support)....
Is...do you all remember a long while back when there was some issue where you had to make your sign in your e-mail address? Well, I tried, but could never successfully finish activating/logging in...
So all this time, I just stuck with the same member name I've been using for like 10 years, which is the same I used on all Disney sites including DVC...
So, I guess when this last update happened.....one of our passes (mine) and ALL of our dining (except for CG made this morning) got moved over to that "ghost" account which has never been fully activated or used at all....
Not sure now what to do. They said they'd contact me in a few days. If I have to just use the previous "ghost" account now I will, but I want everything to be in one place....
It seems even my icon I chose is not showing up, only in my regular account. Also, my DH is not showing up in the "ghost" account as a family member at all....
I'm so glad we're not going till December! I now am experiencing some of the frustration and disspointment you all have been experiencing! I was hoping I'd get off lucky..
ugh. So, it's not an issue of both AP's being linked to me, which I guess is a good thing. The CM I spoke with said, she can see both AP's one under each name, in the backend of the system along with all our dining reservations...
I just don't want this to affect FP+ for us, in case it's been fully rolled out by the time we go (We arrive Nov. 30).
Thoughts/opinions etc very welcome and appreciated. I mean, should I be worried or what? What do you guys think? I tend to panic..
Thanks all!

I would not worry about it Lori. I had issues trying to link the ADR's my TA made it MDE and the tech support team was able to fix it for me with in a few days. I am sure they will get it all straightened out.
I am glad you were able to get your CG reservation though! :-)
I still haven't heard back from them...in fact I called again yesterday because now there seems to be even more missing from my MDE account (what I can see I mean)....
How long should I give them to call me? My initial call was Monday..should I wait until next Monday? Or call tomorrow if I don't hear from them and it's still the same?
Basically the CM I spoke with yesterday told me to not use the member name I have been using for the past 10 years etc...
So, I told her, ok, I'm fine with usng my e-mail as my login, but then, where's all my stuff and why has my husband fallen off my account entirely?!??! And where is my Mickey icon and my countdown and why is the My plans part also not showing?
The only thing that is right is our 2 resort ressies and it seems all our dining is there...only MY AP shows now, not DH's (as I guess because he is missing from my family now)
This is annoying that you have to wait so long for them to call you back and for them to fix stuff that they and their system screwed up in the first place...
Even the CM I spoke with yesterday said, it's important to get the AP's up there in case we're part of a test for FP+ or it's rolled out by then etc...
What do you guys think I should do/when should I call again etc.?

I would wait a few more days and then call back. I actually just had mine resolved through emails. You could email also and hopefully someone will fix it. You may need to relink your hubby as a family member. Honestly I did the whole plan thing but I actually ended up just making up my own spread sheets with everything on it. I put all our adrs in my Iphone calendar and set up reminders. That worked better than their app.
It is a good idea but there are just two many kinks right now and now with the magic bands it seems more glitches keep showing up.

Thanks Kim! I asked them if I should relink Eoghan, but the CM just told me to wait. The thing I'm worried about is, even if I link him, there is no way for me to relink his AP....it's not so much for the planning part, you're right, I depend on my own spreadsheet for that, it's more for if we get to do FP+/magic bands etc....even the CM seemed concerned about that...

So frustrating! I feel your pain, we got picked for the bands and FP+ but not my whole group is able to pick the FP+, including myself! I saw my app on the iphone was updated, so I'm waiting a few days until I call and once again figure out what's going on. At first I wasn't able to link my ADR's and room confirmation. Only after calling DVC and adding my son on our room, that I was able to see the confirmation. So I have learned to be patient, and go old school with writing all the info down. Good luck!
