As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Welcome! We're happy you've found the PassPorter Community -- the friendliest place to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and the world in general! Just bought the BEST stroller!
I know there is always a big stroller debate/discussion on which is best for touring. Well yesterday we went to Toysrus and they had the Baby Jogger City Mini on sale for $149! I gotta tell ya this stroller is awesome. It is truly a one hand fold! Its very comfortable to push and goes to 50 pounds. We have two boys that are stroller age, a 1 year old and soon to be 4 year old who still takes naps regularly and we usually don't leave the park just let the boys sleep in the stroller. My 4 yo is tall for his age so when I put him in his head was just to the top of the stroller I started researching what joggers would accommodate his height and found the city mini Gt 2012. WOW this looks like just what the DR ordered. It has a head clearance 3 inches higher and goes to 65 pounds! So excited I had to order it right away! One great feature of both strollers is the attachable cooler. It attaches to the bottom of the stroller and from what I read is easy to fold with it still attached! I will post my review when it arrives
Until then this is a link to the stroller..... Baby Gizmo Baby Jogger City Mini GT Sneak Peek - YouTube
I tell you, it never ceases to amaze me how they keep innovating and developing these products. We had a Baby Jogger II (which was state of the art when my kids were born), and I loved it but it is a dinosaur compared to this thing and trying to collapse it (it didn't really fold as much as just collapse flat) was nigh unto impossible, even with 2 hands!

I have to admit of all the things to be addicted to I have a stroller addiction. We own a double combi, a single combi and a single Mclaren style umbrella stroller. I had the combi double for our August trip to Disney and the bought the combo single and Mclaren style one for our Sept/Oct trip as the combo was great but big and bulky. I also keep what I consider my "Disney" strollers in the house and only use them in Disney as I am afraid they will break but now I won't need to do that as these seem very sturdy and reliable!

Ok, now I'm totally cracking up. Apparently we are stroller soul sisters. We had a Combi for Peter when he was born. When Jacob came along, he got the Combi and we moved Peter into a Maclaren umbrella stroller!
love love love my city mini which i have used for my 3 year old on 3 trips so far. now with the baby coming, we are debating on whether to get a second city mini or to use the city mini double!

Its a little more expensive but I know your son is like mine and a bit tall for his age so if you could swing the new one, that is the one I would go with. My DS will be 4 in May and he is just at the edge of not fitting well in the mini.
Good Luck and again Congratulations on that little bundle!
We rented the city mini single from Orlando Stroller on our last trip and I loved it. I wanted to buy one when we got home but my daughter just turned 5 and I really don't use a stroller much anymore. I too have an addiction to strollers have owned at least 6 and I only have 2 kids! City mini was my favorite so far.
I'm cracking up because the conversation I had with my husband last night over car seats somehow morphed into "I wouldn't be surprised if you fed your stroller addiction and purchased another one for our Disney trip this summer". We currently have a Graco Quatro Tour that we purchased when I was pregnant with baby #1. We upgraded to a double stroller (first a Jeep duo, then an older Graco Duo Glide) with baby #2. I also added a McClaren umbrella stroller for "quick trips" when baby #2 reached 1 years old. When I found out I was pregnant with #3, I quickly sold the two duo strollers and replaced it with our Quatro Tour duo with lots of bells and whistles. And I must confess, my husband was correct in that I've been contemplating getting a second umbrella type stroller for our trip rather than hauling the Quatro Tour to Florida. Just don't tell him

Oh I'm so glad Im not alone. Every time I come home with a new stroller my DH just about has a fit. I have given away two Graco strotllers. One that folds to the floor and the metro lite. I liked the Metro Lite originally for Disney until DS came along last Feb. Then I bought the Combe double and loved the ease of that one so when I saw the single on clearance for $40 I grabbed it up! I bring them home each with a new feature that makes for easier folding, more storage etc. I try to explain these features to DH and let him know this is why it was purchased. The last set of Maclaren strollers are great but when my 4 year old falls asleep his feet drag This also would happen to a lesser extent with the Combi single. This isn't an issue with the City mini. I really think I am done now. This stroller is the Bees Knees

So I'm NOT the only mom who has a stroller addiction!! OMG DH is going to be happy I'm not the only one! We just bought the City Mini for DS at babies r us last week, this make it 4 strollers tht I now own, & I only have ONE kid
DS will be 4 in May & he has maybe another 2inches before he doesn't fit it. So this will be our Disney stroller (since we plan to go twice next year *fingers crossed) DH thought our Mclaren would be fine in Disney this year but I dnt like tht it doesn't lay flat. DS isn't a big napper but when we do too much he can take a nap. I figure he will nap in Disney, & I see no reason to have to go back to the room if he will probably wake up by the time we get there.

I think what I might do is end up getting the new city mini GT and use that for my son who is going to be 4 and is very tall for his age. Then I will still be able to use the city mini that I already own for the new baby. I also have a city mini double that is actually my mom's (given to her since she watches my son and nephew) but never uses. So we are thinking of using the double in disney in October but we will see. My son fits in his city mini but his head is too the top, he loves it though, best stroller I ever bought and I have to say I think it was the 4th one that I owned! Even my husband loves it and has had no regrets about me spending the money on it after 3 trips to disney, he tells other people about it! I would look into the double gt but I think with my son getting older, it would benefit us more to have the two singles and if we need a double, to just use the one we have even if his head is at the top. I wish I could have one of each!

When we went last Aug. my boys (then 3 years old and 6 months old) used the combi double. As much as I loved it it was big and bulky. The other thing that I didn't like was the stroller was a bit weird to push because of the weight discrepancy between the two boys. I don't know if the city double would be the same, I suspect not as the design is much different making it very easy to push(as you know). When we went back in October we did two strollers and it was much easier. That said we had my mom and sister to help with bags etc. so it made life easier to break down the strollers and collect the kids. I would suggest making a trip to the zoo or local amusement park using both the double and two singles to see which will work best for you. Good Luck!
We rented the City Elite for our daughter on our last trip and we fell in love with that stroller. It is the same as the mini just bigger. We are hoping to be able to get her the Liberty by Baby Jogger. It is a special needs stroller. We loved the City Elite but she was almost too big for it.
I just purchased the Britax B-Agile for our upcoming Disney trip. It is very similar to Baby Jogger City Mini and I just LOVE the one hand fold. I also have a very tall toddler and needed something to accomodate his length. I was debating on purchasing the Baby Jogger City Mini GT but couldn't justify the price seeing that he normaly doesn't use a stroller except for activities that involve an extreme amount of walking.
I am hoping to get the city mini GT so that way we have it to accomodate ds's height and we still have our other city mini, then we can decide as October gets closer whether the double or two singles would be better. The city mini double is pretty easy to operate, I have used it before with my son and my nephew who at the time was probably a year old maybe and I don't remember having any problems with it. I am just wondering if having a 4 month old on one side and my son jumping in and out to get autographs and everything else is a good idea or if we should go with two. We shall see! We will have my parents with us again, so no problem with extra hands!! It's great!
