As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

For all of you autograph book makers....
I also make my own. I'd love to see some of your creations.
Here are mine...
Elise's Homemade Autograph Books
The 2003 one ( I can't find my son's- it is Buzz) I used greeting cards. For the 2004 ones I used new Sandylion scrapbook stickers. I used a 6x8 book but I may use a smaller one this time because the bigger one just barely fits in the pin trader fanny pack.
I'd love to see some others!

I can guarantee you that mine would NOT look like yours, even with stickers! You could sell those as a side business, they are fantastic!!

Re: For all of you autograph book makers....
It's funny, I though about putting one up on Ebay but they probably do end up costing me more than the WDW ones and it takes a while to do them because I don't do them all in one sitting and you need to use a sealer & let the coats dry in between & I don't think it would be worth it because I'd probably have to sell them for $15 to make any profit at all. I think I was the only one dopey enough to spend $15 for an autograph book. It's really more than just an autograph book though because the pages are big enough for photos. I put photos from our trip on the page opposite the character when we get home. Next time I think I will put a pic of some characters that I know they will want to get again on the book before. I think the characters would get a kick out of seeing their pics in the book already!

Re: For all of you autograph book makers....
That is so cool!! I am not crafty like that, but I might just have to try one and see. My DD, age 7, loved getting autographs last year and that is all she keeps talking about for our upcoming trip. Last April we waited in line over 45 minutes to see Ariel and get her autograph. Maybe I'll try one and surprise my daughter with it on our trip!!! Wish me luck!

Re: For all of you autograph book makers....
I used mod Podge to stick the card cut outs when I used cards but when I use stickers I just use clear acrylic sealer that you get in the craft paint section of the craft store. I take the spiral out and seal all sides including the edges and let dry in between. It's really easy. I try to buy the books and stickers when i have the 40% off coupons from the paper for Michael's. I never looked for them in Wal-Mart. I will check there but ours is not so great.

Re: For all of you autograph book makers....
Sarah, those are adorable! Did you used the WDW stickers from the store there? The ones I used came from Michael's in pkgs. (Sandylion) they have Mickey with some WDW references, princesses, etc. I got a lot at a scrapbooking store that openend up in the same center as Michael's here. I think it's called Scrapbook Cottage or something. The stickers there come on rolls & they had Dumbo there too. That's where I got the Eeyore & the Donald. They have a lot of paper & things there. I don't do much scrapbooking. I always say I am I even have a scrapboook that I got on clearance at WDW like FIVE years ago. It has Pooh & the year on the cover & the spine says Disney Memories with park logos. But I am always overwhelmed with the whole concept. I don't feel I am creative enough to do it plus it seems to take a lot of time which I don't really have. I wish I could though. The scrapbook store gives a Disney class once in a while. Maybe I should take one. I need to check out Wal-Mart for the books. Our next trip is for Star Wars weekend (DS is a SW freak) I want to get a 4x5 book & do Star Wars theme but it's really hard to find Star Wars stickers. I found a sticker book on Amazon so I think I will get that & surprise him. Looking for some nice Tink stuff for DD's (11) next book. Let me know if you see any nice Tink stickers. I like the large size of the new Sandylion line. They fit nicely on the covers!!
I love your Pooh & Eeyore. What is the theme of your next book? I'm inspired today so I am going to go check out what they have at the Scrapbook store today! Let me know if you need Tigger, Donald, Dumbo or Princesses. I'll see if they have those here at Michael's or the other store. I wish I could show you the first one I made (Buzz) it was so cute. I used a birthday card for that one. I'm definitely getting more elaborate with them now. The only complaint is that they take up so much room in the fanny pack. I don't know if the 4x5 would be big enough for the letters (WDW and year) I'll have to try. Last year I had a "Make a Plate" kit left over from Girl scouts & I had sheets signed at Chef Mickey's & Crystal Palace. I added the date & name of restaurant & I'm having them turned into plates for the kids! I can't wait to see how they come out. A permanent souvenir that they can use every day!!

Re: For all of you autograph book makers....
I think there are Ariel scrapbook stickers at Michael's you should check it out if there is one near you. Then I just used the smaller silver letter stickers (come in different colors) they come with letters & numbers (caps & lower case) 2 sheets in a pakge I think. Very easy. An Ariel one would be cute!!

I just checked my stash of stickers, etc & I have Tink ones. They aren't wrapped so it must have come from the Scrapbook store. Cool!!

Re: For all of you autograph book makers....
I use some of the same techniques and have gotten a lot of attention from the CM's. I have also sold them on eBay. Believe it or not, people will buy them. Most of mine went between $15-18.
