As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

We are going to WDW for a much needed getaway that won't break the bank. We want a king room, so that leaves value & deluxe resorts out. We really want to veg out on non-park days. I am concerned as my DH may have issues walking and is a huge mosquito magnet with all the lakes & rivers around.
Leaning toward PO-Riverside or Coronado. Something tells me there will be MANY more kids at Carib Bch so that's OUT. I know many families who lovvvve Carib Bch.
HELP PLEASE.... What is your favorite moderate pool & resort & WHY?

Haven't stayed at a moderate, but the values do have some king-bedded rooms; they are all "accessible," so that would be what to ask for, with the king bed.

At either POR or Coronado you'll find kids, after all you're at WDW. The main pools will both have lots of kids at them in the afternoons/evenings. You may find that using one of the quiet pools at those resorts is more adult friendly (though no pool bar). Of the two though, I'd say Coronado Springs feels more adult to me.
We stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter for our honeymoon and we loved it! It is much smaller than Riverside and was no where near as crowded. I found it to be very quiet.
I have also stayed at Carib Beach. I liked it, but it is very spread out and there were a lot of kids.
Well I know you didn't say POFQ but that to me is perfect for adults only it is small but unique. And as far as mosquito am too am a magnet and I have never ever had an issue at Disney which I think is totally strange but I don't and hopefully it will stay that way.

I forgot you mentioned mosquitos. My DD is a magnet as well. She can just step outside our house and get a few bites. We've never ever had a problem with them at WDW.
POFQ might be a better fit for you. It's a small resort; nothing is more than a 5 minute walk. CSR is a great resort, but it's huge. Best food court though
I've stayed at both Port Orleans (Riverside, not FQ) and Coronado Springs, and really liked both of them (I'm a child-free adult, so all of my WDW trips are adults only). Personally, I don't think you can go wrong with either one. But of the two, Coronado really felt more adult. And was far quieter. The pool is also lovely.
And yes, it's big. But so are all on site properties. But the bus service is great.
I think Port Orleans Riverside would be the best moderate resort for you. It's quiet and there are beautiful walking paths along with nice pools. I found Coronado Springs to have a lot more bugs than any other Disney resort that I've stayed at.
Unless your DH has serious enough mobility issues that he needs a walk-in shower, I doubt an accessible room is necessary. There aren't a great many, so trying to book one could be more challenging. Should he decide renting a scooter is advisable, one will fit in any Disney room although more snugly in some Value rooms than in Moderate or Deluxe ones.
You can request various bathroom mobility aids from housekeeping if needed. There are portable rails for the toilet, and shower seats are available.

What pools have swim up bars. The swim up bar has become one of my favorite pool features after staying at several all inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
