An Animal Kingdom State of Being with Cam and Fam COMPLETED 9/18 - Page 99 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

As I was reading your fantabulous report I decided that I was going to stay CL in four years. I want to go on that Sunrise Safari and eat Banana French Toast! Then I got to the one-bedroom villa pictures. Decisions, decisions...
I love all of the pictures of Stefanie with the characters. The nose kisses are the cutest pics ever! How cool is it that your family along with Ann and Carly were in the parade!
Oh, from one HP fan to another, I am extremely jealous that a wand got to chose you at Olivander's!
The villa is beautiful! And it has so much room!
And I love the pictures of Stephanie and the chaaracters at Crystal Palace! They are so huggable!
The one bedroom is very roomy!

Too bad about the melt down; but it sounds like it was short lived.... (unlike my dd who can really hold a grudge).
Your room looks great despite that it is a long walk to get too....
Sounds like a great character meal; looking forward to more!
I had intended to get an update posted today, but I didn't get around to typing it up until 10 PM and then realized I hadn't uploaded photos. I have spent most of today working on school stuff or working on a photo album for Stefanie to take places to show off her trip.
I'll be on tomorrow morning as it is the only day this week that I don't have a school commitment. I have quite a bit still to do to be ready for my students. School starts back for me next Monday, so updates after this weekend will no longer be every day as I just can't juggle everything that well. But I will finish!

That's alright! While we are all always here on the edge of our seats awaiting an update, we understand that school takes precedent. Best of luck with school! We'll be here when you find some TR time in your busy schedule!

Finally came around to reading your TR Cam; and let me tell you, It is AMAZING!!!!!!!! I've been sharing it with DGF (Rachel), and she really enjoyed the pictures of the HP area at US. As for WDW, loving the photos, sorry for the mishaps on your trip; namely the broken toe, trouble with check in, a boring goofy, a boring server, and getting brushed off by Pooh. But hey, look on the bright side........YOU CAME OUT IN THE PARADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really enjoy Steph's pics with the characters. Looking forward to more, and I'm glad that I just happened to click on your TR, because it is starting to get Rae a bit excited for our trip next year. I will anxiously await your next post, (hint hint, light a match under it darlin!) but please don't let me wait to long.
Man, I cannot get over you all riding in the Parade. I would have gone out after that and bought myself a Powerball ticket

I keep having recurring nightmares that I'm failing at teaching the three new classes I have. Last night's bad dream involved me coming into the classroom and calling all the students by the wrong names.

That poor kitchen doesn't get much of a work out with us. I reheated breakfast 3 mornings in the microwave and that was it. We do keep the fridge stocked with Cokes though.

Up Next: Castle Pics and Sorta of Wishes Meet June 10 Part 3
After dinner we searched out PhotoPass Photographers for some shots with the castle. The first was right in front of the castle.
The next photo session was at the Rose Garden.
I crossed through the Rose Garden to see if a PP Photographer could be found on the other side.
I found one and waved Luke and Stefanie over. So the last photos were on the bridge connecting the Hub to the area right above the Rose Garden.
From the bridge Luke got some great castle shots as what PPer ever has enough castle shots.
At the bridge we ran into DoraDoug and her family, and then lots of talking ensued. Later we were joined by Ann, Carly, and Lorraine with much more talking as the Main Street Electrical Parade went on in the background.
After the parade a CM told us we would not be allowed to stay where we were, so we began walking and ran into Tammy and her family who had been held up by princesses. Lorraine needed to get home for some sleep before work tomorrow. Ann and Carly had already left for more rides while Dora needed to find her family who had also left to ride rides.
We got in a short Speedway line and Luke was soon tootling off in a car. But Stefanie and I were held up by a broken down car. When she and I finally got on, I lost a flip flop and had to retrieve it. Then we too were tootling along, except for the occasional swishlash as Stefanie calls it. Wishes started while we were traveling the track, and I attempted to get some video of it, but Stefanie’s driving was just a bit too jerky. In a bit we were reunited with Luke outside the ride to finish watching Wishes. We walked back through Fantasyland and Liberty Square, taking the shortcut into Adventureland to ride Pirates of the Caribbean without any wait. We got to see the Blackbeard version.
We were all getting tired so we headed to Main Street to the Emporium where I picked up a 71 cream hoodie jacket that matched the t-shirt I’d gotten early. Luke is partly to blame as he kept point it out every time we were in a shop.
Next we crossed Main Street and ran into Ann and Carly who were pin trading. Then we were off to Main Street Jewelers to get a Chamilla carm for my bracelet with the Christmas gift card from my DSis Pam. I chose the swirly Mickey head that I had failed to get last June. It was now after 11:00 and our carriage was about to turn into a pumpkin, so off to the bus stops for a ride to AKLV. The bus was standing room only. Stefanie and I were right in the front where a bar was low enough for her to hang on. I could also see the driver’s computer. He entered something and reported that the bus was FULL, and the he entered the load count = 82. We were crowded in there!!!
Once back at Kidani, Luke got off his foot and Stefanie and I unpacked and made ourselves at home. We were all three in bed by 12:30, and I think we were all asleep by 12:31.
P.S. Today’s purchases:
Luke’s Lego purchases
My Harry Potter Lego magnets
My Harry Potter Lego key chains
Stefanie’s World of Disney goodies
Mine and Luke’s WoD goodies, plus my Zawadi giraffe magnet clip
