Is Belle a Disney Character? September 2015 PTR - Page 9 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great little minor changes! I want to try CHH this trip because the hummus sandwich looks good to me. I'm sorry your missing out on it but it's a reason to book another trip!
Great changes. I think it was a good idea to skip the eating round WS plan. You're right- if you have been watching what you eat, you'd end up feeling really lousy after eating a snack in every country!
You could do something else beside eat in every country. When my two DDs and I went, we ended up taking a photo with one of the costumed CMs in every country. It was fun! And the CMs were thrilled to be asked. Trying on a hat from each country is another option that I've seen people do.
I’m very happy with choosing to skip the eating around the world. I’ll have to see how much time Mom actually wants to invest in the WS side. I would like to look at more shops in each country, as I’ve never done that. Sitting and people-watching is also a favorite sport of mine!

Thanks! I’m still trying to get that CRT breakfast instead… we’ll see!
Great changes! I agree about the snacking around the world-you probably would feel bad if you did that after watching what you eat for a while. Great decision!
I’m already feeling bad from being off my clean eating for a couple days! I’m very glad I changed the plan because touring with the upset tummy I have now would not be fun

A very good reason! Let’s hope that Mom will want to book a bounce back with me!
Day 5: Thursday, September, 17th – Hollywood Studios Day
I don’t have plans for the morning. Maybe we’ll rope drop, maybe we won’t. We do have an early lunch Fantasmic! package at Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano today.
I will say, I’m not completely thrilled about this?? When Josh and I booked this package last year, I was very much looking forward to a cannoli for dessert, to find that the only option on the dining plan (or was it because it was the Fantasmic! package?) was the dessert sampler… Anyone know the reasoning? I was on the Basic Dining Plan last time, with the Fantasmic! package. I would hope that it will be different this time because of the Deluxe Dining Plan??
Pending on our morning plans maybe we will go back to the hotel for the afternoon, maybe not! Maybe I should just call this day Maybe Day!
I absolutely love the 50’s Prime Time Café so I just HAD to book our dinner there! I believe Mom will enjoy it, and that it will remind her of her parents (my grandparents) house!! Of course, our night will round out with Fantasmic!
We’ll hit the hay after that. The next day we will be moving off of Disney property and ending our Disney portion of our trip
I can't wait to see my family and my best friend, Chryselle! It will be an amazing time, I just know it!
In addition to that, I have a couple other announcements...
Josh and I will be heading to Busch Gardens this Friday!!
We are annual passholders and have only gone once together since we got them in September. I also took Mom when she was visiting in December, but Josh did not come that time.
It is part of my birthday present that we are going, and Josh says that he will pay for the trip in it's entirety.
We are only going for the day. It's about a 2.5 hour drive to get there, so we will leave early, spend a few hours there, and then drive back home to Brockton.
I'm a thrill-seeker, so I told Joshua that my must-dos for the day are Montu, SheiKra, and Falcon's Fury.
Are you ready for my other mini announcement??
I eluded to this a LONG time ago, but now that it's official...
I'm taking a mini-trip to Disney in August!!
My bestest friend in the entire world, Chryselle, has booked a vacation with her two boys. They will be staying at Pop for a week in August, and I will be coming out to crash for a night with them and go to Epcot for the day!!
A little backstory: When I moved to Florida, Chryselle and I were not on speaking terms for over a year. After she got a divorce from the guy that wouldn't let her talk to me , we started working on our friendship again. I saw her for only a few minutes while I was home last summer, and we continued to build our friendship again after that. This year, I will be spending more time with her, but her boys will be with their father (her first husband, not the one she recently divorced) while I am home. Since I won't be able to see them in NY, what better place to meet up than in the Disney Bubble!
As a gift for letting me stay with them, I am taking them to Teppan Edo for lunch. I also need to figure out if I can use my Memory Maker package for both their trip, and the Mom & Me trip. I think I can, but I'm not quite sure how all that works?? I've never had Memory Maker before. Something about 45 days for something.... The trips are pretty close to each other. She will be there from August 21st to the 27th (me visiting the 21st to the 23rd) and then I'm going with Mom from September 13th-18th. I thought I read that anyone you're connected to on MDE under Friends and Family will be connected to the Memory Maker - I could be wrong. Maybe I will call Disney and ask? I still need to buy my ticket for that one day anyway!
That's all the excitement I have for today!!
Toodles!!
Your DHS day sounds perfect and how fun that you are sneaking in another trip!! You are so lucky to live in Florida!!!! Busch Gardens sounds amazing as well!! I am very sad that we will miss you!! You definitely sound like someone I would love to meet!!
Hope you have a great birthday at BG!!!! Which day will you be in Epcot in Aug? We don't arrive to Disney till the 22nd but we are scheduled to be at Epcot on the 23rd. If your there, let me know so I can say hi!

There’s so much going on, I’m sure that Disney (x2) will be here before I even know it!!!

We will be at Epcot on the 22nd. I believe Chryselle and the boys are planning for MK on the 23rd, but I’m only getting a 1 day ticket for Epcot and then heading back home on the 23rd. I’m unable to take any time off unfortunately, so it has to be a quick trip Depending on where you’re staying and what time you’re getting in on the 22nd, maybe we can do a meet up!!!
