As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

The food samplings looked delicious!!! Glad Josie enjoyed them so much It's so nice to be able to just walk through the IG at night with sleepy children! Congrats on the cruise change!
All caught up again! I can't believe the rudeness of the CM at The Beach Club. The ones I encountered went out of their way to be helpful - maybe she needs to go back for training (did I read correctly that you hinted she'd be back later and still rude?). Congrats on the cruise for your birthday/anniversary!
Isn't it awesome to be able to simply walk to and from Epcot to the Beach Club? Our first trip to Epcot my husband argued that it was a "long walk" and made us take the boat over. At least he apologized for being wrong.
The food looks amazing - kudos to Josie for trying so many things. My oldest finally decided last year to try new foods - so far, we've learned he likes mussels, clam, crab, lobster and crawfish. He's not big into vegetables, but he did tell me he tried a brand new food at school a few weeks ago - he really liked it and wanted me to fix it for lunch. A bowl of lettuce with ranch dressing
The drinks? Look delicious and make me want to be in Epcot this evening (instead, I'll be huddled under an umbrella, wrapped in a blanket watching the boys play baseball - equally precious but definitely less fun).
Can't wait to read more!

Computer back, and I'm caught up. (on yours of course, not mine )
Ahhhh...the IG how I love thee (Not on this next trip though, just let me have a moment Okay I'm good).
Way to go Josie trying all the food!! Tyler would try just about anything, if he could, and Jason would actually try most things too, if he could. See the pattern here.
The shrimp dish and the crab tostado looked fantastic!!
Isn't it amazing where and how quickly kids can fall asleep?
OMG a cruise, what cruise?? Why didn't you tell me about your cruise!!??
Just kiddin!! You KNOW how excited I am for you guys and I was pulling for this cruise! Okay maybe I'm a wee bit jealous...but mostly really excited!!
I'm catching up so I'll be doing multiple responses so I can remember what I want to say. I love how willing Josie is to try the Marketplace foods. I'm with you on tequila, but I love margaritas. The picture of Josie and Andre asleep in the stroller is classic!

As for the start of this trip... that one CM is a stinker, but it sounds like the second one saved the day and really understood what it means to work for Disney. Phew!

It's amazing my disgust with straight tequila, but I'll be the first to tell ya when a margarita isn't strong enough.......you'll see soon
I even just signed us up for a tequila and margarita tasting for the cruise

Why do I have this strong feeling that at the last minute you will be ON that cruise
After a great night’s sleep on those awesome BC club beds, we were up and down to the lounge by the time they opened for breakfast. What a great spread this was. We are pretty simple breakfast folks, so it doesn’t take much to make us happy. The kids always sat at the kids tables with some other little ones and we got them set up with croissants, yogurt, bananas and crasins…….they were quite happy with that. Meanwhile Arnaud and I are suckers for fresh oatmeal with brown sugar and cinnamon, so every day we had that. Each day they had different mini muffins out too and they were all quite good, along with some yogurt, bagel and coffee, we ready for the day. This was pretty much our same routine every morning, however, some days that teeny little lounge would be jammed packed with people. We never sat with the kids, but always close, but on some days we would be at a table around the corner from them, and that I didn’t care for too much. The amount of club level rooms to the size of the lounge at BC doesn’t really measure up…………OK, rant over.
So now we were off to the MK and not looking forward to taking the bus. You all know we have become monorail snobs, it’s OK, I can admit it. When your 2 favorite parks are MK and Epcot…..it makes sense. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised when a MK bus was pulling up while we got there. Hoped on, with no other stops and soon enough we were walking up just in time for the RD ceremony. Once inside we did on this day have a mission. To get to Tales with Belle and not have to wait an hour for it. So with that, I sent Arnaud off to park the stroller and I would meet them by Belle. I ran off to get FP for Ariel. I managed to do that so quick I caught up with my crew and we walked u to Tales together. Of course at 9:03 there was a 15min wait, but really it wasn’t so bad. The theming in the cottage is adorable. I was shocked at how small it was, I think I had been thinking you could really walk through it like you could with Mickey and Minnie’s houses. Either way it was really charming. I wonder how many families in the world will be getting yearly photos of their to track theirs kids progress.
Moving into the whole mirror thing, I have no words. Amaze balls!!!! Now on to pick kids for parts in the show. Well this dumb CM had no idea what she was in for when she asked if anyone could ROAR like a beast. Yup, you guessed it. Josie about scared every little kid around her and quickly that CM was wrapping that red cape around Josie. From reading Melissa and Jilly’s TR’s I knew pretty much what was about to happen. I turned to Arnaud with tears in my eyes and said….”OH my god……..just you wait” He kept asking what was going to happen, I would just say….Just wait. I mean I did know, but I really didn’t know. It’s not until you are in the moment yourself when you truly see how special this attraction is. Not just because my daughter was chosen as Beast, but the whole intimate interaction of everyone was really spectacular. Disney has outdone them with this one.
Andre wasn’t picked for anything, but I thought it was so nice how everyone could go up and get their picture with Belle. That was also super cute. Arnaud and I filmed the whole thing and didn’t bother with taking stills. Now when it was over Josie came running up to us grinning from ear to ear and the first thing she said was how AWESOME that was and could we pretty please go eat in Beast’s castle tonight. I told her IDK, we would have to see if we could get in, little did she know we had a ressie that I never told her about.
From there we walked around Gaston’s tavern and then over to Ariel to use our FP’s. This ride was great; the best thing is how you really do feel like you are going under water. We all loved it and when we got out we realized Ariel didn’t have more than a 5 min wait in her Grotto. Guess who started schmoozing on up to the characters all of a sudden………….
We headed around to ride Barnstormer, I think just 3 times in a row here. Then over to Dumbo. The kids wanted to stop and play first and we had no problems with that. They are at an age now where we can sit and watch them without having to chase them around all the time. You tell Josie to look after her brother and she does just that. He keeps up with her pretty well a watching them run and play is really so sweet.
We now knew it was time for some lunch so I wanted Arnaud to come try PVH since Josie and I had such a nice lunch here last year. I can’t for the life of me remember what the heck the kids had and that was probably because Arnaud and I were in some mad heaven with the flatbreads we ordered. Caprese flatbread and a BBQ chicken flatbread. Between those and the sweet view we had of IaSW, this CS lunch was out of this world!!!!
We knew next a ride on IaSW was in order.
Followed by checking out the new Rapunzel rest area. I wish I had seen this area at night because I can only imagine how pretty it is.
It's shocking to see how close that is now to HM, I mean really right there, so we went on in since Josie has claimed this favorite. We all smushed into one doombuggie this time without a CM yelling at me. Andre did hide his face in Arnaud’s lap the whole time though. Oh well, what ya gonna do.
We decide it was time to head back and go for a swim as the skies had been looking iffy the whole day. On the way out we stopped for some Castle shots and also watched a bit of the Move it Parade.
Buying a balloon on MS has become quite the tradition in our family, so we stopped to get the kids each their own.
I ran into the Kodak place to change in my FP+ and a PP guy took some random pics of the kids playing with their balloons. Just love the Disney CM!!!

How great that Josie has joined the list of PP offspring who've played the part of Beast!
Andre is REALLY getting cozy with Ariel, isn't he?! TOO cute!
As always, you all coordinate so well today!
Oh, how wonderful that Josie was the Beast! I can't wait to see this attraction with my grand-daughter in September. I've read so many reports about it, but can't quite picture how it all takes place. So adorable that Andre is getting chummy with the characters this trip-- or is it just the princesses? Charming photos of the kids with their balloons. I just love how Josie always gives Daddy a kiss when he buys her something!
I have a big ol doofy grin on my face - the entire post! I just love all the pictures of your beautiful family!
And Belle was a shorty wasn't she?! I mean Andre at 2 is as tall as she was at 5.
I love the pic of you in Dumbo with your arms up too!
