The Stone Family's Magical Adventure including food photos - Page 9 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

so much for sharing your trip with us. It truly sounds like you've had a magical time!!
Your MIL is a hoot! Sounds like mine except she has to have tea and a book!
I your pics of the food!
you didn't enjoy PT. I love it there and always have a blast. The cm sure did put your MIL in place though! And all through fun and laughter!
Yak & Yeti is fun to eat at if you can snag a window for the parade. I that! The food is just food, though, which is a shame. It has so much potential! I do love the wonton soup though - it's always been fresh and hot. The tempura shrimp is just not quite there, but tastes good. It needs to be crispy, though.
FF sounds heavenly! I've been wanting to try the crab appetizer and you have me sold on it now.
Your planning sure is paying off! It sounds like everything is running as smooth as possible!
And tears...I had tears in my eyes knowing that you were being upgraded as soon as you hit that elevator! What a dream come true for you!!! Congrats!
Isn't it nice to have a CM who knows what they are doing? Glad someone was able to put your mind at ease about the dining situation with the platinum plan.
Hope you are able to keep warm this weekend. It's so cold!
LOL it's finally starting to warm up here...we hit 25 degrees today
Now you've got me wanting to go to Raglan Road! That food all looks so and Stefanie would be in heaven with chicken fingers and mashed potatoes. Then what an awesome surprise that Stephanie engineered for you all at GF! Disney at its Best!
You HAVE to try it! Make sure you get that bread pudding !
Great updates and pictures. It could be your exceeding the limits for your account. Apply for the TR group, and I will give you more space (another 5 MB) and we'll see if that fixes it)! http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...ad-limits.html
Thanks Marnie.
It looks like you are right. I have simply posted too many pictures
I did apply for the TR group just now. I guess I should try to be more selective with pictures.

Now hurry back! I'm hooked!
You're absolutely right about Y&Y. I really expected so much more but it was just....ehh. The window did help!
I was just not getting it when we stepped on that elevator! The poor CM had to spell it all out for me , but I think he was having a lot of fun too!
Just found this TR and I've read it from start to finish...it's like a trip down memory lane. We stayed POFQ last trip and I really enjoyed your photos of PO from the ferry. Raglan Road was probably one of our top 3 TS meals at WDW too - we had some different entrees but I also couldn't wait to try the bread pudding and it did not disappoint! It looks small in your picture but it was HUGE, wasn't it?
We went to the Grand Floridian for dinner our last night and thought it was lovely so I'm looking forward to the rest of your report - thanks for sharing!

So, since I apparently used up all my alotted pictures...whoops, I have to now involve my wonderful Husband Jeff who up til now only read the TRs that I have done. Now he has to work. He will be posting pictures now, and hopefully, since we will be in different locations, will be able to post the pics to coincide with the report! Here's hoping!

Where did you eat at the Gf?

So after lunch I noticed that the concierge had called my cell to let us know our room was ready. It wasn't even 11 am when they called. We decided to get a little more done at the park before heading back to the hotel. We went back to Fantasyland and hit Dumbo, Cinderella's Carosel, Mad Tea Party, Winnie the Pooh, peter Pan and Mickey's Philharmagic. After all that the girls started in about wanting to swim. We caught the monorail back to the GF. Once there, I realized I had my KTTW card but had no idea what room we were in. I had my group grab a seat in the lounge and a snack , while I went to the concierge desk to find out our room number. I met Vonnie at the desk and explained what I needed. She asked for my KTTW card and told me she would look us up. She was training a new CM and I sort of drifted a little away from the desk looking at Xmas decorations when I overheard her tell him "always look at the card, see look what they are on, that's important. Platinum plan guests are vips." I was sure excited to hear that ! She brought the card to me and said she would take us to our room. We went to the 4th floor where I grabbed the family as Vonnie led us to our room. I told her how excited we were and she smiled and told me that room is a big favorite for it's perfect castle view...EKK!
The girls were so excited to run to the balcony and see the castle. Jeff was even a little teary. MIL just didn't get it. I think this was even better than the Walt Disney Suite on the cruise...we have a better view !
Vonnie had called for our luggage for us and it arrived only a few minutes after we did. Perfect. I needed time to process, so I changed the girls into their swimsuits and sent everyone down to the pool so I could unpack. I did call my Mom to tell her we got to our room and she was as excited as I was. I really wished she was with us! I finished unpacking and headed down to the pool. Jeff was in with the girls so I took some pictures of them. MIL was sleeping in a chaise and I settled in to watch. It was too chilly for me to get in the water...low-mid 70s. They all swam for a good while and then started to get hungry. I herded them all back to the room to get them ready for dinner. We were going over to Ohana where we had never been before. The Poly was just PACKED! I never saw it like that before. UGH I hope everyone isn't there for Ohana! We got seated pretty close to our ADR time so I can't complain. Once seated the appetizers started coming. I think I was one bite into a wing when gelsey started fussing. She was sooooo tired. MIL kind of set her laying flat over two chairs and she was falling asleep . No, that did not look comfy. I couldn't let her lay there. I popped her into the stroller and told the crew to enjoy, that I was going to take her back to the room. This also resulted in no pictures from Ohana since I had the camera. I was going to walk but it had started to rain so I hopped the monorail back. I got Gelsey into bed and enjoyed the balcony for awhile. When they got back from dinner, Remy asked if she could go down to the arcade for some time with just her. MIL was heading to bed anyway so she stayed with Gelsey. Jeff and I enjoyed our time with Remy. After an hour we finally had to drag her out of there. Once we returned to the room I finally realized how tired I was. I was asleep as soon as I hit the pillow. What a magical day!
I just found your TR and am loving it! The pictures are great, and it sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. I got teary reading about your upgrade, too; your view is perfect! I can't wait to read more.
