The Neverland Gang Is Back...And I Don't Wanna Grow Up!! - Page 9 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

That was a great update! I love all the pics...especially the imitations of the statue by your boys lol...too funny!
We love pizzafari and the food is always so good...
It would be so much fun to go with that many friends from home. No one we know ever goes to disney but it looks like you guys were having a great time!
I love Flick! And the Meeko shots! I never see those guys...
Hey, did Craig look scared on EE or was that just him playing...cause he looked scared to me...I'm just sayin'
I cannot wait to hear what your younguns (like the southern phrase?) thought of their surprise!!
I have pictures of Craig imitating statues from all over!! Seems there's always one around that he's got to mimic. It was a lot of fun to go with that group of friends...but it was even nicer when it was just the 4 of us
Craig wanted me to clear up that he was NOT scared on EE and only making a face for the camera!! LOL
Well...up next is the Pirate update...

Also looking foward to hearing about your surprise for the boys!
We had so much fun with that Photopass CM. She was great and got us all in a fabulous mood to start our day.

All Jason talked about was the boneyard remembering it from the year before, and he's quite persistant until he gets what he wants.

Concierge was amazing! I would Love to do it again.
So, we caught a bus from AK over to MK and when we got onto Main Street it was clear the parade was about to start. We didn’t want to get stuck, so we hightailed it up Main Street and into Adventureland. The boys wanted a snack and I figured this was the perfect time to finally get my very first Dole Whip!
Yum! This will be a must have for all my future trips. The boys got Itzakadoozie bars and then Jason and I waited for Craig and Tyler to ride PotC. (Just one more ride Jason remembered from last time that we can’t get him on anymore) When they got off the ride, we needed to hang around a bit in Adventureland because we had a surprise planned for the boys. The Pirate tutorial was just beginning so we got a spot near the rope and watched that. There were a few kids who had been turned into pirates and they participated in the show. Tyler and Jason made it up for the end of the show and got a certificate.
Then it was finally time for the big surprise. We had appointments at the Pirate League for both boys to be turned into pirates!!
They were so excited. First they picked the faces they wanted and then we went inside for the boys to be given their pirate names. Tyler was dubbed “Solomon Singeskull” and Jason was dubbed “Jack Sailmonger”. They were referred to by these names for the rest of our time there. The pirates who transformed the boys were wonderful… Tyler’s pirate a bit more so, but they were both great. I bounced back and forth between the two of them watching the transformation.
I was not sure how Jason would do sitting there, but he did GREAT! Tyler of course talked the pirate’s ear off to the point that he called me over and asked me how I stand it all day! Then he noticed my birthday pin and all of the pirates sang a Yo Ho pirate version of happy birthday. My favorite happy birthday of the trip. After their make-over, the boys were given the rest of their pirate gear and had to take a pirate oath.
Then they were given the rules of pirating. You can see how seriously Jason was paying attention…I think he’s got a future in plundering.
We then waited to be let into Captain Jack’s secret room…
...and that is all I can say about that! But, here are the boys in their new pirate personas.
And a couple of goofy pics with their “new” teeth.
They Loved their new identities and had a blast with them for the rest of the night.
Next up we had dinner ressies at LTT. Again the chef came out and there was plenty here for both boys to eat as well. And they even got the boys both Itzakadoozie bars for dessert because they couldn’t be sure of the desserts on the menu. I LOVE this meal. Turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and I don’t have to cook it!!
This was the only night we were going to be able to see Spectro so after dinner we scouted out a spot right at the rope and waited while the boys had their ‘dessert’ from LTT. This parade is just so fabulous. Espescially since it had been a few years since I had seen it. But, the highlight of the entire parade was when Cinderella blew a kiss to Tyler! Even the little girl sitting next to Tyler turned to him and said “Cinderella blew you a kiss!!!” He was on cloud nine after that and every once in a while during the rest of the night would say “I can’t believe Cinderella blew me a kiss”.
After Spectro we started making our way over to Goofy’s Barnstormer. It was the one thing Jason wanted to ride during EMH. He said he was going to ride it and he was going to “thcream!” And ‘thcream’ he did. On the way over, we noticed Wishes starting and watched it from Fantasyland. I’ve never watched from this angle and it was quite an amazing view, and so much less crowded.
After a nature break…we made our way to the Barnstormer and rode that twice, which I’ve got to tell you is not all that comfortable, and then went back to Fantasyland to ride Pooh. I have not been on this ride since it changed from Mr. Toad, but I really liked it. The boys were laughing during the bouncing part and we all really enjoyed it. Now, the whole time we were on Goofy’s Barnstormer, we were trying to talk Jason in to BTMRR saying it was the same thing. (okay, we may have mislead him just a tad, but hey…it builds character ). So, we headed over to Frontierland to the wildest ride in the wilderness. On the way over there, we passed Philharmagic and it was about to start for the last show of the night. I have never seen this and decided it was fate. So we stepped in and right into the theater. It was fabulous!! The boys especially liked Donald’s ‘Finale’. Then it was on to BTMRR. When we got on the ride, I told Jason he could scream if he wanted to, like he did on Barnstormer. Which he did for a bit, then I think he realized that we were maybe not completely honest with him. But, he did it and said it was “FUN!” when we got off. So, we asked him if he would ride it again… and he said “NO!” After that, we were spent. We walked toward the front of the park, grabbed some drinks and one more picture of the castle at night…
…strolled down main street and went to hand in the stroller and found a sleeping Jason…again.
So we carried him to the bus stop where we waited AGAIN for a looong time for a BC bus to arrive. (maybe it was just a fluke this trip, but we seemed to wait for quite a long time coming and going from the BC to MK). We did finally make it back and upstairs. Dressed a sleeping Jason in his jammies and we all promptly fell asleep!

Love those pictures of the boys as Pirates! Too cute!
We rode Barnstormer for the first time this trip - and it was interesting - you'll have to read about it in my TR.
I have read from beginning to end. I'm caught up. We were there the same time you were, and you are right, it was so blooming hot. Geez! I don't know why it was so hot. Oh well. We survived.
It takes a HEAP to actually make me LOL, but Craig doing Thriller made me literally LOL. I it!
Your costumes are wonderful!!! I remember your costumes from 2008, but I like these even better. You are very creative, and your boys are precious. Sounds like you had a great time at the party. I look forward to reading the rest!
