A Marriage proposal with a little help from Cinderella -Updated with Photopass pictures on 4/19 - Page 9 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Love the updates! You guys are sooooo sweet!
Actually we met about 3 years ago here on the boards. We started chatting about our recent trip and that we were both from Michigan. I certainly wasn't here looking for what I found. LOL. Truthfully at that point in my life finding love was the last thing on my mind and I had kind of just ruled men out of the picture for a while! Actually when I responded to one of his posts I don't even know for sure that I knew he was a guy. We had been at Disney at the same time and both stayed at POP! We have went 2 consecutive years since then at the same time, on purpose of course. We became great friends, best friends actually over the couple years after we met. We went some pretty cool places like Holiday World, Cedar Point and Six Flags. Had many fun weekends just chilling at the pool which became a pretty regular thing on my every other weekend off. Spent the holidays together. To me there is nothing better about all this than spending the rest of my life with my best friend. Our children all just got along so good and seemed like family from day one. Especially our DD's who are very close in age. They were best buds right from the start.
So, here, three years later. A recent disney trip and a state in common. A friendship that surpassed any expectations I ever had and I get to spend forever with the man I love and the best friend I ever had. What girl could ever ask for more?!?

LOL...that did sound kind of strange on my part. I mean it wasn't that I doubted his masculinity or anything....I just wasn't mindful of whether I was talking to a male or female. LOL
I love his draw to Cindy! Tho you are right, not common for a man. He is certainly anything but common! LOL (which I love!! ) I think I posted this earlier but when we were standing in line waiting to see the princesses I felt so incredibly lucky to be there with a man who wanted to be there and not one of the men sitting in the waiting area talking on their cell phones to pass time. He puts up with my total love of TinkerBelle too, so its all good!

Holiday World so rocks!!! OMG! For 3 years I lived in near Bloomington in a small town near Clay City. It was about an hour from there also. What a small world!! Where are you? My sister is still down there in Loogootee.

Yes I am envious you have such a open man who can show his feelings for you and Cindy! .
Alas, no it is me who is lucky to have such a woman who allows me to express my love and devotion for Cinderella in front of her. After all, how many women would go back to Toontown with me, (or even LET me go back for that matter) when I exclaim: "Oh No! We have to go back later! I forgot to tag the Princesses!" Would never have gotten this picture, which is one of my favorites. I'm going to get this one put on a coffe mug, I think:
It also has special meaning BECAUSE she insisted I have my picture taken alone with her. Or maybe it's cuz this is the only one of me and a Cinderella who's been 'freshly tagged!'.
Also quite fond of this one, right after I proposed:
Sighhh isn't she great? Thanks, Liz! You're the best!

Well you aarrreeeee HALF right! I AM perfect! LOL
Seriously, I think we really, honestly have a good understanding of what the other person is feeling. Trust me, not a field of roses every waking moment, but sometimes those less than perfect moments make you appreciate the absolute, true, without a shadow of a doubt, kind of love that everything is based on.
I think that its important to realize any relationship is a significant effort. Its the willingness to work at it. To never want to do anything that might make that person hurt, to encourage, push a little to help that person be everything they can be, but to also be there when that person needs to make an emergency landing once in a while.
I speak from experience. I moved down here with Brent and the kids this past weekend. We are getting married friday. I had to leave my 2 oldest DD's behind with family for a few weeks until school is out since one is a senior but I had a great job offer here that would not wait. In todays economy that sometimes has to be jumped on. I left a job I love to start over. I left my friends, one being my best friend (other than Brent), she lost her parents young and has been like a sister to me. She ended up in the hospital critically ill the day after I left. I started my kids in a new school and cried when I had to leave my youngest one there and come home. I have felt like a failure as a friend and parent at times. I have ran thru every gamment of emotion and this morning it finally got to me. I just cried like a baby. I was happy/ thrilled/ excited with my new life but also sad/ frustrated/ and scared. I wanted to just pack up and go hide somewhere. I called my friend and just spewed it all. She told me ( and you would have to know her to appreciate this) "so get off the phone with me and get your dumb a** home and talk to him! You love him, this is what you have wanted for a long time and I am sure he is feeling as frustrated as you. So talk to him and LET him help you. He can't help you if he doesn't understand you. And we all know.....understanding you is a challenge!! LOL" I talked to him and I do feel better. I am not accustomed to feeling scared or lonely, I didn't know how to handle it. But I cried, he hugged me, he really got what I was saying. And cared what I was saying. Never had that before. He is an amazing man, a kind of strength where I am weak. I do realize how fortunate I am and will never take that for granted. Not everyone find this companionship/friendship, and I know that.
