Just The 3 Of Us.........**Updated 10/16** - Page 9 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So glad to see you're back and writing your TR already! Sounds like you had a great start to your trip. Looking forward to reading about your PP meets.
Just getting caught up...great report ! It sounds like you all had a great time. I can't wait until you get started on the stuff you did at the parks ! More please!!!
Just getting caught up. I agree on the Continental thing. Gotta have assigned seats, and a non-stop flight!
Where is the EoS in Houston? I don't get out of the Woodlands much, but DH works down in Houston and loved his sandwhich he got at DtD last year. He is always looking for something for a quick lunch break.

Day 1 Part 2 Will we ever get the luggage and dinner at 1900 Park Fare
After finishing our healthy lunch we walked out of OPR and out to the bus stop and decided to grab the first bus that came along except for the EPCOT bus. We had to get over to the Dolphin to pick up our rental from National (Thanks Monica for keeping me posted on the rentals ). While sitting at the bus stop I realized that I was about to have a blonde moment (I have those every once in a while) Before we left the room I had packed up my camera bag.....weeellllll when I did that I forgot the get the rental coupon and reservation information out of my passporter. So we had to take a little stroll back to the room to get those. Once I FINALLY had everything together we made the short walk to the bus stop from our room. While walking from the room we discussed it and decided a bus to DtD would be our quickest route to get to the Dolphin. We waited for a couple of minutes and the first bus to show up was Downtown Disney now is that timing or what. As soon as we got off the bus at the Marketplace there was a bus waiting to go to the Dolphin The transportation was definately working in our favor! We made a quick stop at the Swan and before we knew it we were at the Dolphin. I have to admit this is a beautiful resort, I wish I had taken some pictures but I was too focused on finding National and getting our rental to think about pictures.
We found the rental desk pretty quickly and got in line behind 2 men who looked like they were there on business. You would think they would have been out of there pretty quick right well.....they weren't. They just kept talking and talking and talking and....well you get the point. Finally about 20 minutes later it was my turn. I already had my drivers license, proof of insurance and credit card ready. We were in and out of there in under 10 minutes....now that is what I am talking about. We took the keys out to the valet and in no time Sparky was brought around, we put the top down and headed to..........CBR. I know I know, we are in Disney, we have a convertible and we went to the room. By this point it had been about 2 1/2 hours since we checked into the resort and we REALLY wanted out luggage. I wanted some shorts and Kris wanted her tennis shoes.
We got to the room and you guessed it no luggage. I called down to bell services to see if it had arrived at the resort yet we were willing to go get it. I sat on death hold forever and Kris took over well when they finaly came on the line we found out that 4 of our bags had been scanned but we were still waiting on bag 5 and they were out for delivery. We couldn't wait anymore Myka had an appointment to be transformed into a princess. We headed out the door and I called Monica to let her know that we were on the way to BBB and we decided to meet in front of BBB. We got there a few minutes before Monica and Macy and got Myka checked in. While waiting Myka and Kris headed off to the powder room. While I was waiting Monica and Macy showed up. I almost didn't recognize Monica! Hugs were exchanged it was great to see them again. Shortly after Kris and Myka showed up and more hugs went around. Macy was signed in and given a pager for her appt.
While we were waiting Monica suggested we kick our vacation off right and go get a margarita. Who was I to argue. The pagers didn't work at the margartita stand so Kris to the girls to wait for their appt and I went with Monica to help carry the drinks.
Soon after we got back they were paged in for their Princess makeovers. I will let Kris and Monica give the details of those. But here are a couple of pics.
Once transformed Kris and I wanted to run back to the resort to see if we had any bags yet, Myka left with Monica and we were meeting for dinner at 1900 Park Fare. On the way out to the car it started to sprinkle, the sky was very dark and it started to thunder. We made it back to the resort and the rain stopped. Once back up in our room we discovered we only had 1 bag. It was the one that they were waiting on to scan. We called bell services and they told us that our bags were delivered. No they weren't. It was at this point we discovered they were delivered to the wrong room. I quickly changed and flat ironed my hair to get rid of the lovely frizz I get from humidity. All during this time Kris was on the phone about the missing bags. Before hanging up they told us they were searching for our bags and that we would have them in our room by the time dinner was done and that dinne was on them.
We headed out to the Grand Floridian and parked the car. We met up with the rest of the group and checked in for dinner. While waiting the girls met up with the Fairy Godmother. Dinner was wonderful. I had cesar salad strawberry soup to start with. I also sampled mussles and several other items for the rest of the meal. For dessert I had bread pudding and apple cobbler. Once stuffed we paid the bill and finished visiting with all of the characters. Our main goal was Prince Charming.
