Honeymoon at WDW Oct 18-25 at Boardwalk - Page 9 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Day 6 October 23, 2010
We got up semi early and started our walk to Hollywood Studios. We had some shopping to do and this would be our last stop to Hollywood Studios. On our walk there an airplane was writing messages in the sky it was pretty funny. With it being a Saturday the park was a little busier than it had been all week but we were fine with that we were only doing some shopping anyways.
We stopped off for lunch and we were both really tired of the hamburgers by this point in the trip. So we found chicken nuggets on the menu very similar to the chicken we had at yak and yeti yesterday. They were so good with French fries and our usual dessert lol Adam got carrot cake I got chocolate cake.
We did more shopping and picked up some special treats for our parents Allie my sister and our favorite four kids!
We headed back to the hotel and got our suits on we went for a swim. We also got strawberry daiquiris they were wonderful cause it was soooo hot outside. We got ourselves ready for dinner and headed through epcot and took the monorail to the Polynesian.
We arrived to dinner at Ohana and checked in early so we got to check out the hotel a little bit. Our buzzer finally went off and we got seated right next to the window they said it was the “honeymoon” table too cute haha. It was in front of all glass window wall pretty much and overlooked the Polynesian resort pool and seven seas lagoon. We could even see Cinderella’s castle it was an awesome view.
The waiter came over and introduced himself he explained how they would serve us our meal and then took our drink order. Next came a pineapple bread that was just delicious. Then our appetizer which was huge had chicken wings, lo mein noodles, pot stickers, and broccoli vegetable mix. It would have been enough for my meal lol but there was plenty more to come.
Next the waiters came around with these giant metal skewers than had shrimp, beef, and chicken. They had grilled them over a large open grill it was amazing. So we got to pick what we wanted Adam tried them all I liked the chicken the best I did try the beef but it was too medium for me.
For dessert they gave us bread pudding which I had never had before and ice cream it was delicious!!! They also gave us a cupcake for our honeymoon celebration.
Next up was extra magic hours at Magic Kingdom. So off we went on the monorail to Magic Kingdom. We got some pictures that we missed out on when we were there Tuesday. We got to take our time and do everything we wanted to it was awesome.
It’s a Small world had just opened today so we went right back there to check out the line. We decided to go on right away it was so cute and of course the song stuck all night long.
We brought along our hidden mickey book we bought the night before at down town Disney. We were going on rides and looking at the clues it was really fun. We did pirates and haunted mansion and looked everywhere it was so neat we found a lot.
This was our only night during the whole trip that we were able to catch wishes the firework show. So we made sure we got an awesome seat right in front of the castle. It started and the whole entire park went dark it was amazing then tinker bell flew from the castle and across on a zip line it was so magical As we were enjoying the firework show some child and his mother ran and the child tripped over my foot and fell right into Adam lol oops. Adam was pretty mad and I was so confused cause it was so dark all I know is why would a parent let there child run in the magic kingdom in the dark?? Oh well it was an amazing firework show and I love when Jiminy Cricket spoke it’s just so Disney haha.
Then we went off and did some other fun stuff and came back and found a spot for the electrical parade. I went and got Adam and I a drink I got a souvenir cup it was so cute all Halloween characters. We did some shopping and I got an Eeyore charm for my bracelet. We got a dole whip float and dole whip sooo delicious. We also grabbed more vinylmations because we were obsessed lol. Towards the end of the night we went to the ye old christmas shoppe we found some really cute Christmas ornaments and bought them. We were still on the lookout for hidden Mickey’s.
My feet were hurting so bad we stopped at the first aid clinic and got bandaid’s almost every one of my toes had a blister it was horrible. I told the man who was running the center that these were the most magical bandaid’s I had ever had he laughed at me in a good way lol. We walked some more and then headed back to the hotel before the rush. The park was closing at 3am I think we stayed till about 1am.
The weather today was… 88 HOT HOT HOT and SUNNY!!
The best thing today was… Wishes and Electrical Parade
The worst thing today was… crowds
The funniest thing today was… child running during wished tripped over my foot
Today we tried… Dole Whip Float
And the result was… Delicious very sweet though
The most magical moment today was… Wishes and the Parade!! And getting bandaids for my poor toes at the first aid center lol
Day 7 October 24
We never woke up till 10am we were so tired and worn out. We walked over to the concierge and talked about how we check out then we went down to the boardwalk and got some breakfast at the bakery. I got a croissant that was about the size of my face lol and an orange juice. Adam got a ham and egg croissant and he split my orange juice. We sat on the boardwalk and ate it was really nice. We could see our hotel room from our little table
We decided to go back to Downtown Disney and check out some more stores slowly so we grabbed a bus and headed there.
We went back to our hotel room got our bathing suits on and swam because it was so hot outside. We got a chicken salad wrap to split and a coke.
Around 3 we went up to our hotel room and packed our suitcases up and took a nap for about an hour it felt wonderful. We debated whether or not to go to dinner at Biergarten. Our reservations were at 5:05. We were out of meal credits and I didn’t think I would eat much on the menu but I knew how much Adam wanted to eat there so we got ready and went to Epcot for dinner.
It was such an awesome atmosphere. We had to sit with another family but we really lucked out with an awesome family. We talked with them most of the time and the food wasn’t all that bad.
We decided to spend the night at Epcot and we walked around shopped a little more and did a few more little things we had missed. We also had to check in online for our airline. It was wonderful all we had to do was go to the guest relations and they put us in this little room with a bunch of computers it was great we were in and out in five minutes.
I finally got my Mickey ice cream bar Adam got a Mickey ice cream sandwich. Then we made a stop at the first aid center for more band aids of course Magical yet again lol
We walked back to the caramel kitchen and got a chocolate caramel apple and a chocolate caramel covered strawberry. They cut the apple for us so we could enjoy it back at the hotel room later on. And we did on the patio while watching everyone walk on the boardwalk. When we got back to our room the transportation information was under our door. It had the instructions for the magical express and our tickets inside. It was a wonderful relaxing last day. It was sad but it was alright because we knew we would be back someday.
The weather today was… Hot soo soo hot 86 and sunny
The best thing today was… Chocolate covered strawberry with caramel
The worst thing today was… The bus from Downtown Disney to boardwalk and these annoying drunk people on the bus
The funniest thing today was… The baby in the chocolate shop, and that they announced our names at Octoberfest
Today we tried… Chocolate covered caramel strawberries
And the result was… amazing
The most magical moment today was… Getting more amazing band aids at the first aid center at Epcot lol
Day 8 October 25
Our final day so sad!! We took lots of pictures of our room and said good bye. We had all of our things packed up we took our luggage to the outside check in and they took it from there no worries till we got to buffalo. Then we put our carry on’s into the lobby so we could go enjoy our last few hours. We walked around to the lobby and took pictures outside and looked for a few more hidden Mickeys.
We decided the easiest place to go today was Epcot. We grabbed a coffee for Adam and a pastry to split. We did Universe of Energy and walked around the park a little more it was like the perfect park to be at seeing as it was our first park we went to
We were starting to get hungry for lunch we ate at Sunshine Season Food Fair inside the Land. It was absolutely awesome I wish we would have known the entire time that the food there was so good. I got a Chicken Caesar salad and pineapple upside down cake it was wonderful. Adam got a Chinese plate it was very good and he chose to have strawberry shortcake.
We took a nice walk through the countries and I seriously peed in every single country lol I was so nervous to fly lol. Of course we had to make a last stop at caramel kitchen mmm yum. We got a rice crispy treat with chocolate on top and caramel drizzled. It seriously could have feed four people lol. Then we got our yummy favorite chocolate caramel covered strawberry just one last time.
It was now time to say goodbye so so sad. We walked back through the international gateway one last time and down the boardwalk. We went up to the concierge lounge and hung out because it was just too hot outside we really wished we had our bathing suits unfortunately they were in our luggage.
We had a few snacks and cooled off then it was time to catch the Magical Express Bus back to the airport. It only took us about 40 minutes to get back to the airport seemed so fast. We got through security after I got randomly selected of course to be scanned. Off to grab some dinner McDonalds of all things but hey it was still delicious. We went to our gate after that and hung out till the plane arrived. We boarded and were off headed back home. This flight was quite possibly the worst flight I have ever been on we flew through a thunderstorm the entire time we were coming home it was horrible turbulence.
We arrived with quite a thud into Buffalo and mom and Allie were there waiting for us. It was the best Honeymoon Adam and I could have ever asked for. I wouldn’t have changed a thing and I don’t believe Adam would have either. We cannot wait to go back
